Description of Work: I needed to have a very nasty virus removed from my computer--and the Computer Doctor removed it. They also removed some extraneous programs from my PC that were slowing down processing speed. Very professional and MUCH CHEAPER than the Geek Squad or Best Buy.

I do not recommend him for website design. I cannot speak to his ability to repair computers. I will not use him for anything though.
Description of Work: Did not use him for computer repair but had him design and build a website (ecommerce) for me. In my opinion he talked a good game but his work was terrible. The website he designed was very difficult to use and never worked correctly. He promised to fix issues with it and he never did, even after I paid him extra. After several months of using his website design on his server it still did not work correctly so I cancelled it all and was out a ton of money. I I cannot speak about his computer repair abilities but my experience with him was terrible.

Response from Computer Doctor
First off I would like to say that Angies list is a complete "JOKE" and a complete "SCAM" they contact people in my area asking if they have done business with my company. And they ask for reviews no matter how old a review and regardless how long ago service was rendered. The proof is in this customer review which did business with us on August 01, 2010 and is just now posting a review on March 13, 2013. 3 YEARS LATER!!!! Then mysteriously Angies List representative call our store asking if we would like to become a business member. If we became a member our membership could pretty much wipe out the negative review. I informed the rep that i am not interested in becoming a member. This is this second time Angies List has pull this scam on my company. The only difference is that first time the review was supposedly put up by a gentleman in my home town. With a little research of the address posted on the review I was able to locate the gentleman's phone number. After contacting him and explaining the reason for my call was to clear up any misunderstanding, or unhappy service he may have receiving from my company that was unknown to me. I found out that he was an 86 year old man. i asked if he had any Jr's in his household and he replied no. After explaining the situation to him he stated that he never had done business with my company and does not even own a computer. He was very upset that a company list Angies List would use his name and address and involve him in such a scandal. He stated that If i wanted to peruse legal action he would be happy to testify in court. If you would like to find out for yourself that Angies List is a scam, just do a search on the internet and you will find several angry business owners who have been the victim to Angies List. I'm sure Angies List will not post my entire response :-) Now the facts of this customer is that he came into our computer store (and I did say computer store) asking if we could build him a website for his home based business. He made wooden handles for gun. We explained to him that building websites was not our primary focus, we service computers. Trying to assist him we arranged for the owner to accommodate him since the owner did have knowledge of creating website. We required a 50% deposit and upon completion and presenting a live website with photos of his product, he would then pay the remaining balance. After we completed the website and the website went live for 7 days on the world wide web, we requested the owner to pay the final balance. He paid the balance with no problems and expressed his satisfaction with the look and feel of the website with a few minor alterations that we satisfied over the next 3 days. His website was up and running in 7 days, and even after we had received full payment we provided an additional 30 days of service in case he needed any changes of the website color , or its content since he provided his own photos. The breakdown in communication is not in our service, the problem was that the customer expected revenue to immediately flow into his pocket just because he now had a website, and that did not happen! HIS PRODUCTS DID NOT SALE!!!! and that was not our fault. This customer continued to seek free support and advise even beyond the 30 days. Most of the advise he was seeking had to do with the basics of the internet. We do not provide internet training so we directed him to someone who does. I am not sure if he took the course but here it is 3 years later, after paying the final 50% balance only when he was completely satisfied with our work, the fact that he is just now filing a complaint, and did not even attempt to use local resources such as small claims court, smell really bad, and should be a direct indicator to all that this man is bitter that his products did not sale, and that he was a novice when it came to maneuvering around the internet, let alone attempting operating his own website business. I have found that companies like Angie's List prey on those who may have indeed had a bad experience, but it is not always because a company did a customer wrong. If the customer had a valid concern he or she would peruse legal action. If they do not per sue legal action then they resort to companies like this, or companies like this seek them out to use this type of forum as a means to bully a business into doing what the customer wants done. Here are my words to Mr. Alan Turner "you are a untruthful man" I personally bent over backward for you. Here is my advise, "if I have done you any wrong, take me to court because although you are a novice to the internet, I'm assuming you are intelligent enough to know that Angie's List can not do anything for your but allow you to display this 3 year old bitter behavior. If is a very sad day when a business owner who is in the business to make money decides he no longer wants a customer business. Mr Allen Turner, stay away from all four of my computer store locations, by the way stay away from my restaurant as well. God will bless us without customers like you who deceive others with your lies However, I do pray that God blesses your business, I just do not wish to do business with you again, and at least that is one thing we can both agree on.

This is the third time James has been to my home to fix my computer problem(s) since November/2011. He is very efficient, knows computers and is pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend James for all computer issues. He is a "golden" find in the service area. I feel so fortunate to have The Computer Doctor and James as an electronic resource. The staff that schedules appointments is professional as well. A great company !
Description of Work: Experienced a serious trojan virus that took down my Windows firewall that ultimately infected my home computer. James/Computer Doctor cleansed and tuned up my entire system. He also connected my HP printer that was off-line. I had many questions regarding my "sick" computer and he answered all my questions.
