Very well. They showed up on time and made what could have been a major project a simple 'fix.' But it was a good fix. Although my house is only 9 years old, the main water supply is galvanized pipe. the pipe had developed a pin hole and was leaking up through the ground above. The plumber employed a collar - probably more substantial than the pipe itself - and I could see that the leak was completely sealed. Some plumbers might have insisted on tearing out the pipe and re-doing the entire supply line, but this should take care of it indefinitely at a far lower cost. The price was fair, I suppose. The pipe was already exposed since the water department came first and dug it up, so he didn't have to dig. He did remove a bit more dirt and he did have to go and get a part, but the part was $15 and the labor was $130. About an hours work I suppose. Not ridiculous, but a little bit pricey.

I would not recommend him. I don't think the people he brought with him wanted to work. I didn't mind paying them but they had a bad attitude.

The washing machine drain had been incorrectly installed. The plumber quickly found the problems and fixed it. The month before, they replaced a gas water heater for me. They're always friendly, punctual, and professional.

The men were both competent and knew what to do. The pipe is cast iron and has gradually accrued a layer of rust inside. Difficult to clear any obstruction, etc. So far, I am pleased with the service.

Spanky's Plumbing unclogged the drain and it worked for several months. They were punctual and the price was competative.

The toilets worked properly for only one month after their service.

I walked out to check on my garden this afternoon and found water flowing through it where there shouldn't be water, even after heavy rain the day before. I tracked the source and found water bubbling out of a spot in my side yard. I called the water company, and then began calling around to plumbers trying to find someone that came out to rural Tuscloosa. Spanky's answered the phone and was incredibly hepful. Given the location of the water flow and the fact that I was doing laundry at the time, he initially thought that the problem was a blocked field line to my septic tank, a repair that this company doesn't do, but explained the whole thing to me anyway, including causes, what I needed to do next, and even recommended some contractors in my area that could fix it that he was familiar with. His diagnosis was backed up by my cousin, who is a plumbing contractor in TN when I called him and told him what was happening. The problem actually turned out to be a broken pipe, much to everyone's surprise since it was in a strange location, and much to my relief since that was a much less expensive repair! I'd been so impressed with all the help Spanky's had given me so far, that I called him back and told him the repair job was his since broken pipes were something they obviously do work on. The guy was at my house within an hour, had the repair done in 30 minutes, and turned the water back on for me. Highly, highly recommended and I will definitely call Spanky's again for any plumbing issues I have.

We really like them and they were always on time. They were always on time and I like they did a good job. They took their time and they weren’t rushed. They took just over an hour. We had to use them frequently. They charge about $90 a visit. If they come back to see something that was looked at before they don’t charge you for it. They have courteous employees though they were young men there was no permanent banter, chatter or baffling or anything like that. They were polite and I felt they did a thorough job. They clean up after themselves and they tell you the process. They tell you what they are doing while they are doing it. I just liked dealing with them. They were easy to deal with. I asked a lot of questions and I would sit there while they fixed stuff and they didn’t mind. I am not sure how competitive their prices were otherwise we would not have called them in the first place.

We contacted Spanky's for several problems in the house, but the major one was a huge leak from the kitchen sink. We'd had someone attempt to fix it once, but needed someone more professional. First, Spanky's was late. Second, when fixing the wobbly toilet, the plumber pulled himself up by way of the glued-onto-the-tile ceramic toilet paper holder. Which he broke. He told the 18-year-old in the house about it, and said "Sorry". He left a mess in the other bathroom, after fixing the under sink plumbing. Third, there was no caulking done on the second bathroom, and the first bathroom tub still leaks. He did not bother to take a look into the accessway to check the pipes under the tub, just caulked it, despite being told about the leak. And last, but very much not least, we still have problems with the kitchen sink. It doesn't drain easily, and is leaking into the basement, AND outside through the foundation.

I noticed a leak from the bottom of my toilet tank, and I could feel a crack in it. I called at night and got their answering service. The lady told me to call back in the morning. I called back the following morning, and a different lady answered the phone. She took down my name, number, and address, and said a service person would call me back to let me know when he was going to come. He never called. The next day, I got a different plumber to come do the work.
