It was a disaster. He signed a contract agreeing to replace rotten wood, scrape the entire house, pressure wash, prime and apply 2 coats of exterior paint for a set price. We supplied the paint and necessary materials. He was disorganized and chaotic about the entire process. His helper began painting trim before the entire house was scraped and primed. Randy asked for permission to use a sprayer to apply the paint to the siding but did not use a shield and got overspray on our bricks, fixtures, and windows. He and his helpers threw all of their trash and scraps in our yard over the course of a week. Once into the process he told us he would not remove the storm windows. He did not caulk the balcony repairs before Tropical Storm Fay was predicted to hit our area. When my husband called to complain he agreed to come to our house and take care of what needed to be done. When he arrived he immediately starting telling us what he would not do. My husband fired him on the spot. Our house is a mess - there are paint chips all over our yard, paint spatters on our patio, and overspray on our bricks, light fixtures and windows. The paint job is awful - there are gaping holes that have no paint on them. He said the 95% of the house had 2 coats of paint. Our neighbors told us that he would leave everyday as soon as we left for work. They also said that whatever equipment he was using was tearing up our roof. It has been a nightmare! We have been told by another painter that we will have to start from scratch - that the house was not properly scraped. We have lost almost a thousand dollars in paint. The repair work to the balcony is mediocre at best.
