After bad luck with another Heating and Cooling company we called them. They said they wouldn't be able to get to use until the next morning and that coming after hours would cost $70 more anyway! So we agreed to wait until the next morning even though we have a 9 month old at home and were having to use space heaters to keep her room warm. They called back after 30 minutes and said the owner was coming right out! They didn't even charge the extra $70. They determined that we had a bad transformer and replaced it, blaming our digital NEST thermostat for the blown fuse. Once they fixed it they went outside and looked at the unit and realized there was a big leak that would cost about $700 to fix so they said that we should think about replacing the whole unit. We said we would consider it over the next few days but we needed something fixed immediately because this was the coldest day on record! They were able to get the emergency electric heat in the attic to work but insisted on giving us one of their thermostats from the truck because they felt that our NEST and old thermostat wouldn't keep the emergency heat on (not sure if I believed that) so they put one of theirs on. It cost us $126! I would have said no if I knew it was going to be that expensive for a simple thermostat, our NEST wasn't much more then that and it is the latest technology! Anyway overall they did a good job, a bit pricey but they did come straight out and they seemed to be knowledgeable about the problem. I do think they were not as knowledgeable about thermostats as you would expect but the actual unit they diagnosed and fixed immediately.

Last week my air conditioner had a problem and I thought it was a perfect time to go on Angie's List. The company that I have used in the past was rated B but another company which one of my friends had recommended was also listed and it was rated with an A and it had all good reviews. I called them at 9:00 in the morning. They were extremely nice on the telephone. I asked if they could get somebody out here that day and she said absolutely, without a doubt. They had a repair man out here at 12:00 noon. He spent an hour and a half and fixed the problem. Everything went very, very smoothly. I paid $148 and I was pleased with that as well. I was impressed at how professional and prompt they were. I had lesser repairs that cost more money in the past with other people. Their service man called me and said he would be here in about 15 minutes and he was.

They were quite good. They were very patient and helpful as I was contracting some of the work myself. They were very accommodating in that aspect and working with other contractors.

We did not engage them to replace our system.

They were punctual and informative with visiting and givibg the estimates.

I called and they promptly answered the phone. I told them what I needed and they arrived that very day. The technician knocked on the door to introduce himself and explain what he would be doing. He was very courteous and let me know when he finished, what he did while he was there and that he was now leaving. They did the same at our lake house as well. I felt like we received excellent service and value. Highly recommend this company.

Upon receiving our call, they assured us someone would be there that day and they were! The service person was very professional and performed the service in a timely fashion. It is obvious that this company takes pride in their work and employees. I have used them several times (have rental property and two homes and office building) and will continue to use them in the future. I have always had a great experience and have always felt that they charged an appropriate amount for their service. I highly recommend this company.

They began with a free estimate, using the standard manual based on insulation thickness, wall area, window size and type, tree shading, etc. I think the 35-year old AC was oversized for the house and wanted to decrease the carbon footprint. Another company insisted on replacing with the same size, but Hand M was willing to size it down slightly. The new system works great, keeps the temperature in the 70's even if it's in the 90's outside. It only took a half day for the entire job.

Hughes and Mullinex replaced a broken thermostat. They came out the same day I called, had a replacement part in the truck. They also analyized condition of our HVAC system, and offered advise on how to keep it cooling better, and how to last longer. They did a great job.
