I was given an estimate to replace the windows AND all the window frames. The contractor showed up and did not appear to know how to take the old windows out. They spent several hours deciding how to proceed. It was obvious they did not want to replace the frames, and I agreed to reduce the project to straight window replacement, with the added work of trimming the sills with aluminum. The owner of the company spent about two hours at the site over the course of the week. The two workers who completed the project were efficient and knowledgeable. They spent a combined total of 52 to 58 hours at my house completing the work. I estimated the cost of materials to be less than $200. When the bill was presented to me, it was for 92 hours of labor, at $35/hour, plus a 20% profit surcharge, and $500 for materials. When I questioned the amount of the bill, the owner told me that the bill was for the original estimate. I paid the bill, but decided to never use this contractor again. Apparently, he uses a spreadsheet to do his billing, and plugs in hours and other costs, including a "profit surcharge" until the total agrees with whatever he decides is a appropriate amount to gouge his customers. The bill should have come in at around $2500. I was taken for $2000. The contractor did not understand why I was upset about being billed for 92 hours when less than 60 hours was spent on the project. When I complained about the bill, his response was that other contractors take their customers for a lot more money. So apparently, as long as you bilk your customers for less than someone else, whatever you charge is reasonable. Steer clear of this company.
Description of Work: He replaced about 18 windows at my house. In addition he installed metal trim over all the sills.

Beck Construction remodeled our master bathroom removing our old bathtub, vanity counter top, ventilation fan, popcorn ceiling, wall and floor tile. He built us a beautiful, fully tiled shower with a shower seat, grab bars and glass doors. He also removed wall paper and painted our walls and vanity cabinet, added new wiring, new light fixtures, new faucets, removed rotten wood and replaced some insulation in the walls. Mr. Beck was flexible when we added or made some changes to the project. When asked, he also made some recommendations on where to buy materials allowing us to get the best prices thus saving us some money. Danny Beck also worked one Saturday to make sure our project stayed on schedule. I would highly recommend him and his team and would not hesitate to use them again for any future projects.
