It didn't go well. Ms. Markle scheduled a showing of a house that I had under contract. I don't have a problem with that, since until a house is sold it is fair game. Ms. Markle arrived at the house while I was there with my home inspector getting my inspection done. Ms. Markle informed me that she had a showing at the house and wanted to know if I was the listing agent. I told her that I was not, and that I had the house under contract and I had my inspector there. She apologized, and said that the listing agent didn't inform her of the house being under contract. At this point she left. Up to this point, there was not an issue. About 15 minutes she returned with her clients and started showing the house, letting her clients in the basement (which was open due to the home inspection going on). When she started showing the house, she never talked to me or my inspector, she just ignored us. As her clients started coming upstairs my inspector informed them that the house was under contract, and that an active home inspection was going on. Ms. Marlke then proceeded to show the clients the upstairs and ignore both myself and the inspector. Finally I had to interrupt Ms. Markle to ask her if she had spoken to the listing agent. Now, when I say I had to interrupt Ms. Marlke, I mean I started by being polite, to which she ignored me and started talking louder to her clients, who were witnessing the entire episode. After about a minute of trying to be polite and get her attention I finally I had to yell to get her to acknowledge me. I asked her if she had talked to the listing agent. She very rudely said that she had, and the listing agent had told her that the house was not under contract. She then turned her back on me and proceeded to show the house, clearly agitated. I understand that there is miscommunication in the real estate industry, and that the listing agent may have told her that the house was not under contract. Because the house was slated for auction I could see that the status may not have been clear to everyone. I also don't have a problem with her showing the house, because until I closed the house was not legally mine. But it was under contract, and she owed me the common courtesy to discuss this with me. I understand that she may have felt a little embarrassed by showing a house that was under contract, but in those cases you just admit it and move on. Obviously I was under the impression that the house was under contract. If she felt that it was not she could have discussed it with me. I would have appreciated that. In the end, I closed on the house and now own it, and Ms. Markle's clients got to see a less than flattering side of her. She did not handle herself in a professional manner in my opinion.
Description of Work: Ms. Markle scheduled a showing of a house that I had under contract.
