The guy came out went in the attic for a short time, then went outside to check the outside unit. He said the coolant was low because the coil was bad on the 1 year old unit. He then told me the part was covered under warranty bit the labor to replace it would be $500+ . Since the summer was almost over and I found his diagnoses difficult to believe, I decided to wait until this year to replace it. Well fast forward to summer 17 and the inefficiency of the now 2 year old cooling unit has become annoying again. I decided to call a different company out to look at the problem. The new guy came out and said that the unit was overcharged with Freon so he adjusted it to the correct level. He then proceeds to check the temp of the air coming from the vents when he discovers that one of my kitchen vents wasn't blowing. He went back into the attic and found that the vent wasn't attached and was blowing cold air into the attic instead of into my home. Once he attached the vent my HVAC is working the way it should. maybe it was just that particular tech that came out, but I will never use Estes again considering their technician almost caused me to spend $500+ unnecessarily.

company came after waiting all day and serviceman told me that compressor was shot and coolant had leaked out from broken coil. said I needed an entirely new system for $5,500 immediately. tried the hard sell and wanted to install new system the next day. I called another company who came within a couple hours and fixed my system for $275. system is working well now two electrical components were replaced, a capacitor and a relay (I think). I was told these are the most common items to fail and easily diagnosed. repairman from Estes called back to manager and discussed my case so I wonder if the problem was a crooked repairman or a crooked company. I am a retired person with a 3 year old and a pregnant daughter living with me and this attempt to prey on us durung the hot Alabama climate is unconscionable. stay away from these overpriced crooked people at Estes

woke on this record breaking cold day to no heat. In total panic I called the last poor Estes fellow who was here :) yes i was that upset. he got me in touch with the office and not only were they there, they had a technician here within an hour. Scott is our hero today! he was here and efficient and we were warm again before this old lady had a chance to really fall to pieces, This is the second time Estes has rescued us and I give them all the very highest marks for being such a great asset to homeowners.

Replaced outside switch four times. the fourth time told me circuit board was burning switch out would cost $300 to fix would probably need a new unit would cost over $5000. Called another tech the circuit board wasn't remounted just left laying inside the unit and the outside breaker was left off.and the switch was wired up wrong that what kept burning the points in that switch up was wired direct so the outside fan couldn't shut off. Put wire in proper place problem solved for $20 dollars.

They were quick. The overall experience was excellent. The price and quality were excellent. They were professional, responsive, and punctual. I would use this provider again.

We've been having record heat and drought for the past two months. Our air conditioner had slowly but surely stopped working. This is a fairly new home built after Katrina in Dec. of 05 Estes Air Conditioning and Htg had installed the unit so i called them in a panic first thing this morning. Busy as they must be in exceptionally hot weather Mr.Doug was here right after lunch. He listened to me and went out to the unit and came back shortly. While i am asking him if he can do the repair he is telling me its all done. He then assured me that it was still covered under warranty and was leaving wishing me a good day. I have heard other seniors say how kind and professional Estes is and now I attest to this myself. These are good guys.
