My contractor (I would not recommend) used Cain Electric. We had a bathroom added upstairs that they had to wire and requested 3 security lights added to the corners of our home. During the bathroom process one of my kitchen outlets stopped working and my Jacuzzi tub. They insisted it had nothing to do with them. However both worked perfectly prior to their work. I put my foot down with my contractor and was able to get those things correct with no additional charge. However, they did want to charge me. And insisted it had nothing to do with them. Both problems happen after they had done work. We also had electrical probmlems with the new bathroom, however, that was all then so they could not blame that on anything else. We had asked then to add 3 security lights outside. They only installed 2, however the invoice had a charge for 3. And they did not work properly. Not yo mention we had all the switches changed to flat switches and several of those had no plates. I think this company creates problems so they can charge you for fixing that as well. Also, they are not on angies list, but I would not use Watt Construction either. That was my contractor.

The price was fair as far as it goes. When power was reconnected, half of the rooms had no power. They messed around for a while then stated that the problem was in the house wiring not the box and was not their problem....They offered to rewire the entire house for around $8K. A bargain as far as that goes for rewiring an old house, but after living on extension cords for two years I consulted another electrician who fixed the problem for $160....and said it was miss-wiring in the new box. tlwhole-house quote was essentially saying, "go away, we don't want to mess with this any more." and I am steamed to find out that a very little additional effort on their part and a little less attitude would have solved the problem quickly and cheaply.
Description of Work: Replaced an old (40's-era) main service with a modern main service and breaker box.

He was outstanding. He arrived quickly, evaluated situation, then he called me I gave him the details. He went out did job, he said he would be done Thursday end of day he was completed then. There were a lot of things he needed to provide for the job and he did.

He came to re-do the fuse box and the can as well, since it was totally blown inside. I didn't know that this worker wasn?t licensed - he wasn't not even a certified journeyman - when he did this. About a week later, I noticed that the dryer wouldn?t come on, and Sears checked it out and found that there was no electricity to the special dryer outlet. I called Cain Electric back. The owner, Michael Cain, was really rude - right after I paid the bill, naturally. He said that it wasn?t their problem and I?d have to pay to fix to the dryer outlet. If it happened to be their problem, he said, they would pay for it. I?d already had problems dealing with him. He said, ?Well, there are lots of electricians out there. You can look in the phone book. They start at A.? He also said, ?Now, you listen to me,? and I said, ?Wait a minute, I thought I was the customer.? I decided to hire another company to check it out. The other company sent a licensed worker out who found that the electricity hadn't been properly routed to the dryer. They hadn?t put in all the breakers properly either. The licensed and bonded electrician fixed everything. I called Michael Cain back and said, ?You don?t seem concerned that your worker did something wrong.? ?No, I?m not," he replied. I asked why not. "You didn't give me a chance to fix it," he said. "You told me it would cost more money!" I told him. "I did not!" he said, which is a lie. This guy just lies and lies and lies. He has his money - what's the point of being like this? Just do it properly. I paid up-front, too. He doesn't take credit cards, either, so I had to write a check. I would have preferred the recourse you have by paying with a credit card. I attempted to call him one last time. The woman I?ve spoken to in the office has been very professional and nice, though. She's the only reason that I've continued to speak with them. In true Michael Cain fashion, he hung up on me - I couldn't even count how many times he's done that. There's just no talking to him. This has been a nightmare and I would not wish it upon anybody. I have tried one more time to try and get this resolved before taking this somewhere else. He is now saying it is my fault because we moved the dryer. He said evidently the dryer had not been working prior to his guys doing the work and that the move of the dryer is what had to of caused no electricity for the dryer outlet. Now that he has his money, so he does not truly care about his customers.
Description of Work: In early March, half of the electricity was going out in the house, so we called Cain Electric. A worker came out on a Friday to see what was wrong and saw that fuse box was hit by lightning last year, which accounted for the trouble. He recommended that our fuse box be completely redone. I told them that if I didn’t call over the weekend, it would mean they should come Monday. They didn’t come, so I called and reminded them that I hadn’t called and I still needed them. They came out the next day, Tuesday. Supposedly, he was going to provide electrical service in a proper manner, but that didn't happen.

First they replaced the kitchen GFI breaker, but it kept tripping, so they finally came back and replaced the outside outlet which was 50 years old and corroded. Finish Problem solved. I have used this company for years, and have always been satisfied with the service.

The office manager is personable and attentive to detail, keeps customer informed. Owner and his employees are at all times professional and diligent in the performance of their duties. I highly recommend this company.

Description of Work: Spoke with female assistant who said the company owner would come out on June 23 to wire home for water heater. She asked if owner could come at 7 am and I confirmed that that was a good time. No one from the company kept the appointment nor called to reschedule. I would not recommend this company.

At the time that we gave her a verbal quote no appointments were confirmed and we were waiting to hear back from her with acceptance of the quote. We had no other communications with the member other than the day she called us and we gave her the verbal quote. We greatly apologize for any miscommunications.

The process of installing the generator was long, complicated, and expensive, involving the power company, a plumber, a tree cutter, a fence contractor, and an asphalt paver! But Cain Electric handled the electrical part of it perfectly.
