Ledlow's Heating & Air Cond

Please see my review from last year when work was done and my review recently on the 1yr. anniversary. Both are detailed. Bottom line...hire Ledlow's and you won't regret it. They are simply wonderful to work with.

Our AC went out on hot days. I researched to find the best person for the job. So on Monday morning I called and asked him to come to the house. I was not present because I had to work. He diagnosed the problem very quickly and gave my wife a quote. He then called my cell phone and told me the price would be $335. He told My wife tha he told there was a $55 service fee that he would waive if we did this the replacement work today. Since the price was $335 I gave the approval for him to replace the motor. He completed the job very quickly and efficiently. He handed the bill to my wife which reflected a $390 total. She quickly challenged him explaining that he had told her that he would waive the $55 service fee. His response to her was that since I was going to pay with a credit card that he was going to go ahead and charge an extra $55 onto the bill because it cost him money to process the credit cards. I called him to settle up the bill and inquired about the charge that was not discussed with me at all. He then gave me an explanation that the credit cards would cost him money to process then asked where I found his name and when I explained that I found it on Angie's list he then tried to make it seem like I was getting a big discount so he only charged me $350 instead of the $390 on the hand written bill. The was not even close to the $335 that was discussed originally. His work is good however his business practices need some attention. I would highly recommend getting a written quote prior to having any work done.

This is an update as we have had the new system for about a year now. The job went very well from start to finish. our unit went out the week before a holiday weekend. We called several of the "big" companies and were told that unless we had a service contract, it would be after the holiday weekend before they could even come out--(about 5 days). Called Ledlow's Heating and Air and he said it would be that day but late. He assured me he would come and he did. It was about 7:30 P.M. as I recall. He got our 30 year old unit up and running but said it was only a matter of time before it needed replacing. There was never any "sales pitch" or pressure, he simply stated that it was an old unit and would be unreliable. We could never cool the house during the summer. We gave Ledlow's our business because he took the time out of his very busy day to get us cooling again and responded when no one else would. He answered the many questions we had thoroughly. He took many measurements and calculations. We purchased his recommended complete heating and cooling system and just as Mr. Ledlow stated, our power bill has been cut almost in half! The new unit has performed flawlessly this year. Our home has never been this cool during the summer months or more comfortable during the winter. I would HIGHLY recommend Ledlow's Heating and Air for all of your heating and air needs. Call them, you won't regret it.

Mr Ledlow arrived on time. I explained that the fan on my A/C unit was starting to occasionally make some noise. The unit is 16 years old, and with the high temperatures we've had lately I was afraid it might go out during a really hot day. He quickly started to diagnose the problem. I asked questions as he worked and he made sure I understood his answers. As it turned out, the fan motor was in the early stages of failure. Mr Ledlow left to get a new one and returned shortly. He installed the new one quickly. Since he was here, I asked if he would check my freon level just to be sure it was alright (if I needed more, I would like for him to do it now while he was here rather than me have to call him back at a later date). He checked it and said my freon level was fine. I've been contemplating upgrading my A/C system. As I said, it's 16 years old and needs occasional maintenance. I asked Mr Ledlow about his thoughts on this. He told me that my system was working fine and he didn't think that I needed to replace it right now. I've been preparing for the day that a repairman tells me that I need to purchase a new system. It's not a cheap thing, so I was waiting for him to tell me that I needed a new XYZ123 system that would cost me so much. I hinted several times during his visit about replacing my system, but he repeatedly told me that my system was fine for now. He would spec out one for me if I wanted, but my current system was fine. Where I'm going with this is that I gave him several opportunities to tell me that I needed a new system. However, he told me that my current system was fine. Honesty! Imagine that. He didn't try to sell me something that I don't currently need. The man arrived on time, was very polite, answered all my questions and when given the opportunity to sell me something that I don't currently need he was honest and told me the truth. He gave me a discount for finding him on Angie's List. He charged me for a service call and the replaced fan motor. If you're looking for someone like this then search no more. I will definitely hire him in the future for all my A/C work.

This was a bit of a puzzle to diagnose all the problems with this unit, but Bruce Ledlow stuck with it and ultimately got to resolution. I appreciate Bruce's willingness to come out multiple times, including evenings and weekends, to complete the necessary repairs.

Bruce did a through job on the system, just as he did last year with the installation (the best). After completing his job Bruce did more. My mother-in-law was having issues with her wood floors. Bruce noticed that and called a friend (Also on Angie's list) and asked him to come out to look into the problems. That is truly exceptional service. Thank you.

My air handler for my heat and air conditioning began to make a loud noise. Called Ledlows Heating and AC. Mr. Ledlow came out himself, diagnosed, replaced cabinet for fan. Fast quality work. Price was more than fair and a lot cheaper than expected. Even received Angies List discount! Will definitely use him again.

Repair was necessary, they had to order a part & were back the next day to install.

Our air went out Thursday before Labor Day weekend. We went to Angies list to find contractors and read reviews. We called Ledlow's first. Mr. Ledlow said he didn't think he could get to us, but he would call us in a few hours to see if he could work us in. Thinking he would not be able to get to us, we called other highly rated companies. Because of the upcoming holiday weekend, the soonest anyone could come out was the following Tues. Temps were in the mid 90's. Mr. Ledlow did call us back and said it would be late in the day, but he would be there. He arrived and quickly found the issue and got us up and running. I began to tell him the cooling issues we were having the last few years and the high power bills we had. He asked if he could look around at our indoor returns and vents. He even went under the house to check things out. We found out our furnace is a 1987 model and our cooling unit was from 1990. I then told him we would be interested in a new system. As it was late in the day, I asked if he could come back after the holiday and work up a quote. Mr. Ledlow came back and did many calculations, counted vents, etc. We found out we didn't have the right balance of returns and vents and that some vents were disconnected. In addition we needed additional vents. Mr. Ledlow worked up a quote after calculating what size unit we needed. He also stressed having a unit too large is as bad as having one too small. We accepted and he started the following week. He and his helper Paul, were punctual and very polite throughout the process. They cleaned up as they went and worked late each day they were there. They moved the new unit to a different location under the house as we asked, and made it where we can now change the filter from in the house instead of from under the house. The process could not have gone better and we are very satisfied with our new unit, The outside unit is very quiet and our house has never been cooler! As a side note, when we purchase the unit from them, they insulate the attic for just the cost of the insulation. We would HIGHLY recommend Ledlow's for any of your heating and air needs. They are honest, professional people and it was a pleasure to have them install our new system.

same day service quick reasonable price

We used Ledlow's in the past so when we wanted to replace our central AC/ Furnace with a heat pump we called Bruce. The price was excellent and install went very well. We had trouble with air and heat being even in all rooms. Bruce exessed the duct work, suggested we reroute the duct work and now the temperature is the same in each room. This guy is fair and a real customer service person. We won't call anyone else.

Mr. Ledlow came out that morning and quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. The capacitor needed to be replaced. He is very professional, explained the problem and asked if I had any concerns or questions. The cost of the repair was very reasonable ($167) I did not ask for a discount, but he offered the $10 Angie's List discount, bringing the price down to $157. A one year guarantee on repair given as well.

Since Mr Ledlow had replaced the same part a month before he did not charge me again and said that he warranted it himself. He also was at my home for about 2 hours and only charged me for the service call.

On March 25 2016, I contacted Mr. Bruce Ledlow to take a second look at my AC because my home warranty company denied my claim and tried to say the problem was due to lack of maintenance. Mr. Ledlow quickly determined what was wrong with my AC. He was very patient and showed genuine concern for the problem I was having. I was very overwhelmed. Mr. Ledlow fixed my AC which didn't have any freon in it. This alone is $800 job. There was a hole in my capillary tube. Mr. Ledlow repaired my AC and only charged me half of what most technicals would have charged for the job. As a single parent with two college students words can not express my grattitude. Everyone triespecially to take advantage of single females. Mr. Ledlow is a business owner who truly cares. I will use his services again and I highly recommend him to others.

Mr. Ledlow was punctual; explained all that he did; was on the job to get an objective opinion regarding the needs of the equipment. Mr. Ledlow explained completely what our next steps will be.

Mr Ledlow(Bruce) and John arrived promptly after I called them. They were very friendly, professional and were glad to explain the service to us step by step. They were very respectful of us and our home and went right to work to repair our AC unit. They were very upfront on cost and told us what we can do to help keep our unit running well. Bruce also told us that we may need major work done eventually, but was not pushy or just wanting to make a lot of money. The price was very fair for the work done and we will definitely call Ledlow's again for any AC or heating needs we have. I have used other companies before but will only call Ledlow's from now on. I'd give them MORE than an A+ rating if I could.

Talked to me on the phone tried to trouble shoot over the phone to get my A/C working. Was unable to but at least he tried. I didn't end up using his services because it was after closing but I wanted people to know he cares

WOW! An HVAC company that right off the bat doesn't say $4,000 for a new unit please. Our unit IS old and DOES need to be replaced but Mr. Ledlow did his best to get us back in the cool at the least possible cost. He and his partner are extremely polite, very very nice men. I got lucky and he squeezed us in when I was expecting him to tell me that it would be several days. 1 hour after my initial contact I had air. We are getting an estimate from him, he will put in a new unit for us - he deserves the business. AND he gave us a $10 Angie's List discount!

All is well my AC is working again

Our furnace was fixed, it was an air flow problem. Mr Ludlow said that a few things were probably also wearing out on the furnace, but that he didn't want to start putting in new things until we knew for sure we needed them. He told us what to watch for, there was nothing dangerous that was wrong. He would come over if it failed in the next couple of days and he wouldn't charge us a service charge. We had heat again. Mr Ludlow spent over an hour inspecting everything, and did put in a new sensor. However he said we didn't really need it, so he couldn't charge us for it! He charged us for a service call. I am so impressed by this man's integrity and his careful professionalism. I mean when do you get service like this? At Ledlow's, that is where.

Mr. Ledlow was very professional in scheduling an appointment and showed up on time to my residence. My unit had a problem with the fan constantly running. He promptly identified the defective part, gave me a quote and repaired the problem in a timely manner. I will definitely use his company in the future when the need arises.

Heater quit working late in the afternoon/early evening when it was going to be cold (in teens). He said he could come out after current job, which made it late 6-7pm. Thankfully he was able to fix the heater and charged a reasonable price for after hours.

When calling around looking for a new HVAC expert, the first thing that struck about Bruce is that he is nice and humble. I really enjoyed speaking with him as he is knowledgable and professional. He took the time to understand my business and goals then he provided cost saving and long term solutions based on my goals. I really appreciate his approach to understand my business and goals to save money. He also did a great job coordinating with my other contractor to help with a water heater install. He then went the extra mile to contact GA Power and complete the rebate form. He even asked the GA Power Manager to contact me so I could get a rebate for my water heater too. I will be getting $500 in rebates from GA Power as well and this was all due to Bruce recommendations and helping me out. i look forward to doing business again with Bruce in the near future.
