J and M Affordable Care/Dudley and Son Contracting

I had to ask them to leave because the work was not getting done. I got a door pug in and partial floor and a bit of work in the bathroom over a few weeks but nothing really finished.

The roofer came out, gave us an estimate of $1500 to repair a leak at a dead valley on our roof. Basically all he did was tar the entire area rather than replace wood/shingles. He had already cashed the check before we could get him back out. We have not heard from him since, and have left several messages. Note: We left several voicemails and text messages with our name and number. I do not believe it is on us that the company cannot return calls.

at first i was encouraged by my dealing with j & m. the first problems arose with having to follow behind them due to their overlooking or inadequately completing needed repairs and simply skipping areas that needed to be painted. every time j & m missed a place (which was often) they had an excuse and a promise to make it right. they also frequently failed to show up when scheduled; again, there was always some excuse. when i confronted mr. dudley on some of the more significant omissions he would always say: don't worry, i promise i will be back to fix anything that i overlooked or that is not done properly. needless to say, j & m and mr. dudley refuse to respond to ANY requests to address problems with their workmanship. when payment was completed it was almost impossible to get a response from the company when i reported problems.. at first, the excuse was given that mr. dudley had been hospitalized; before long, communications were simply ignored altogether. at one point when we were still discussing following up on the NUMEROUS problems (unpainted sections, rotten wood overlooked, windows painted shut they would not loosen), mr. dudley even threatened physical violence. i would consider suing but i expect there are no assets and it would be an exercise in futility. in short. i consider mr. dudley fundamentally dishonest and would be reluctant to recommend him for ANY significant home improvement jobs. i expect he would be fine if you need your doghouse repaired.

They were very nice promt and professional but they said the job i had was too small and would be very expensive.

I was told that it would take 4 hours for these repairs, however it took at most 40 minutes but I was still charged the $400.00 dollars that I agreed to. Did get 10% off Senior Discount making the charge $360.00 The charge that I had agreed to was based on the 4 hrs that I was told it would take - not 40 minutes or less.

Donald Dudley is a very experienced carpenter, (any kind, inside or out side), roofer, yard maintenance. Don is a stand up Christian man, that can be trusted, and I will call on his services in the future. I have been very pleased with his past and present work.

Looks great work done in one day & cleanup great. Pinestraw a little thin. Could have put thicker layer. Maybe a plant short but all in all very good & will use again.

Called Mr. Dudley and got a next day estimate. Felt very comfortable with his knowledge and ability to do a good job. Job award came down to J & M and the contractor that I ended up using. Final decision came down to the fact that contractor I chose was able to complete job sooner. Prices were both very comparible.

repairs required over again due to leaking. He came back 3 times but leak returned. We ended up getting another roofer to put on a new roof..

Met with Mr. Dudley and discussed several projects, that we needed to have done. Seemed interested. Three weeks since our meeting and there has been no response or estimate received. We would rather a prospective contractor be upfront and tell us that they are not interested in the job as opposed to no response at all. Shared too much personal family information. We have snced hired another contractor with whom we are very pleased.

They did a very good job and it was affordable. They are excellent.

Mr. Dudley was very professional and checked the home the following day after I called and got right back to me. Still looking for a home and will contact Mr. Dudley as soon as I find the right home.

This was our second project with Mr. Dudley, and it went very well. It started with a roof leak, and as more investigation was done, we realized the poor quality of the roof decking and original construction. We already knew there were exterior siding boards that needed replaced, and he did a great job all the way around. He worked with us on the style, quality and finish of the roof and came in on budget. We will continue to use Mr. Dudley should more issues arise.

A ridge vent was installed, two turbines removed and openings covered, multiple shingled areas replaced, also wood damage replaced from leaks sustained from storms. Everything went well.

Mr. Dudley (J&M Affordable Care) came out promptly (next day) when called to give me an estimate. He did a complete inspection and pin-pointed the source of the problem. The estimate seemed reasonable and Mr. Dudley was very professional. J&M Affordable Care came out when they said they would, completed the work on time, and did a professional job. I will use them in the future.

He is very nice. He is like a handyman and he power washes houses. I have a fancy fence and it’s like a wooden one and a part of the fence was a concrete block. He fixed an electrical switch and I had some holes in the walls and he did some packing. The first time he was to come out he came an hour late. When I called him he said he was waiting for the weather to clear out and he didn’t call and tell me about it. After I told him about it he did it all the time. He did a really good job. He got me to come look at it and explained everything to me. The job he did was good.

Very well. The leak location was identified and repaired. The leak has been stopped .

I have nothing but good things to say about him. He was very professional. He did a very nice job; I just haven't given him the work yet. He took pictures and was personable.

Easy to contact via phone. Showed up at appointed time, was professional throughout, provided estimate in timely manner. Cost was reasonable. Did not choose this company to do the work, but not due to any concerns.

It went great. Mr. Dudley was affordable (just like the name say's!) and has a great deal of professional integrity. I can't tell you how many times I have scheduled a contractor that doesn't arrive when they say they will - this was a good experience.

Everything was fine. He was punctual, did the job and left.

I was apprehensive about the labor rate of $35.00 per hour, but Mr. Dudley brought in two young men on Saturday to help him finish the job. Considering the additional labor, the rate was not excessive. I wish Mr. Dudley had mentioned that he might use additional labor, because I almost went with another firm. I chose Mr. Dudley because of his responsiveness to my problem.
