I was running my home on window units and had been for years due to high power bills from the central unit. Mr. Turner came out and did an analysis on my unit, determining that a matched system with a higher energy efficiency would be the best. I was hesitant, but we did it and my power bill has gone from over 400 a month to nothing over 165.00 during the height of summer for over a year. Gulf Coast service techs were all very respectful of not only myself and my family but they took care while in my home. I would definitely recommend them for their HVAC work and their customer service; even the ladies in the office were very helpful.

They are on time when they come to service the air conditioning or the heating system twice a year. They are always within five minutes of when they say they would be here. They are fair in their price and they stand behind their work.

Horrible. Failed the certificate of occupancy twice due to bad electrical wiring. Could never get them back over to correct in a timely manner.
Description of Work: I built a new home and they did the air and the electrical wiring. The wiring was absolutely horrible and still having trouble with the ac system.

At the time, they didn't say if the units would be big enough or not. They had me paid for the units, but after they were installed I discovered they were not big enough to cool the whole house. I had to have another company replace the units with larger ones.

We have pulled all files on the Member's units to try a substantiate his information. His file records indicate that the units that were installed by Gulf Coast in March 31, 2004 and were purchased with an extended warranty. The warranty company specifies homeowner responsibilities toward proper maintenance of the unit to guarantee being able to file a claim for failure. The failure that occurred in April 2009 was due to lack of maintenance causing the evaporator coil and blower to have to be removed and cleaned; the Member was unhappy at having to pay for this maintenance. The compressor that failed in April 2009 was covered by the warranty company only after Gulf Coast worked with the warranty company to have it covered.

I had been nursing along with a leaking system for over a year. Gulf Coast Air & Power had been out several times to recharge my system with freon - once even coming out on a holiday. They were always quick to respond and very professional. They didn't overcharge me for the freon. However, they informed me that the system I had at the time was prone to leaking. Sure enough, about a year later, the system wouldn't hold the freon and I needed to replace the system. They gave me several quotations of different SEER units. They advised me on the tax advantages and performance advantages of going to a higher SEER unit. They sold me a great unit, which was a substantial upgrade to my system and I couldn't have asked for a more competent and professional crew. They installed it right away, so I didn't have to suffer in sweltering heat. September in the south can be mighty hot! I am very satisfied with their service and I will definitely call them again, if I need anything heating or A/C related. I highly recommend them.

The experience with Gulf Coast Heating And Air has been a fiasco since installation. Story from start to finish is as in the above statement under description of services provided.
Description of Work: In Sept of 2010 replaced a bryant unit with a 16 seer high efficient rheem heat pump by Gulf coast air and power. Had problem from beginning witih unit not taking out humidity. Then in May when out side temps where in high 90's the unit could not cool my house to less than 78 degrees and was very humid. Tech. Rick came to check unit and said that it was because the attic fan was not working so the attic was too hot . I told him the attic fan had not been working for the last 5 years and my old unit had no problem cooling. He said that when i had the fan replaced they would check out the unit again if it didn't cool. In August 20ll the attic fan had been replaced but of course it didn't make any difference so i called again and teck Chris Guy came to check my new unit. Meanwhile I got a 2nd opinion from another catompany who was not a rheem dealer and because of that and unit still under 1st year warranty they could only give opinion. They told me that there was a air flow problem and didn't think the unit was properly insstalled which I reported to tech. Chris. When Chris was out in Aug he said it could be a valve and replaced it. That did make a difference in the cooling perfomance. After my warranty ran out I called someone else to do maintenance service and found out that there was a problem with the heating and that it had not worked right since it was installed which can be told by data stored by this high tech unit. Also had a thermostat that apparently gives codes to indicate when there is a problem. I failed to mention earlier in this statement that my thermostat stated that heat pump needed to be serviced soon after I had unit installed and I reported that to Gulf Coast. I have been told by the company that is now servcing my unit that the communicating board was bad and had never been working and that is why I had an air flow problelm. I contacted the owner Mr. Turner and asked that I be reimbursed for the work done by Estes heating and air who replaced the bad part. I said that I had problems from the beginning and that his techs. were not able to find problems that other companies were able to find which should have been found. He has not resonded back even though he told me he would and will not return my calls. In December this unit was making loud noised and I again had Estes Air out and same valve had to be replaced again and was told by tech. that unit had not been properly installed.

Had Gulf Coast Air & Power been given the opportunity to perform a diagnosis of the complaint prior to another company being called in we feel that we could have performed any troubleshoot and necessary repairs without the member incurring any additional expenses. We neither any other company that we know of can go in behind another company and pay for their diagnosis and repairs when we as the installing company should have been given the opportunity to take care of the complaint prior to anyone else being called in and it wind up costing her money. We have tried our best to explain this to the member to no avail; we have no ill will toward her and do hope that she knows we will be happy to provide future services for her if she should ever need our services again; when given the chance we try our best to make sure our customers are pleased with their purchases and our services.
