25 year old house. Ceiling damage inside house appeared after June 2012 rain/wind storms. Insurance identified ductwork damage (repairs not included in insurance coverage). Roofer repaired/replaced areas causing leakage. On 12/21/12, Eric, Cajun Critter Removal (CRR) representative, surveyed attic area.Estimate: $3000+:$1000 - replace 100 sq ft of 6and quot; damaged duct (after discussion, stated that only wrapping of ductwork was needed for $325); $ 600 to insulate 400 sq ft in garage; $ 1595 to prevent rats from entering home (Eric could not determine if rodents were still present or when (days/months/yrs?) damage occurred). I told Eric that I decided to have only $325 ductwork wrapping repairs done at this time. Eric then said that he could not schedule the work because there was a $600 minimum for him to do any work. I told him that I would not have any work performed at this time. I wanted to compare current ductwork photos to the July 1012 insurance photos to see if any additional duct work damage had been done. He said that he would email the photos. By 12/28/12 when I had not received the photos, I contacted Eric. He said that he would email them that night. To date 12/31/12, I have not received any communications. Conclusion: For my $100 estimate fee, I received little in return. CRR did not address the objectives: to determine if rodents currently existed in attic; to provide estimate for critter removal from attic. Eric could not determine if rodents currently existed in the attic area. Dishonesty-They would have replaced ductwork ($1000) when only $325 patching was required. $1595 was for future prevention - not current elimination, of critters. In advance of them coming for the survey, they did not mention a minimum fee ($600) to perform any work. Thereby, wasting my time and theirs. Additionally, I have no photos for comparison to determine if additional damage has been done to ductwork since July. I believe that the photos should have been provided to me.
