Tatums Appliance Repair

Mr. Tatum came out promptly and replaced the icemaker. He was friendly and did the work in a professional manner. However, the icemaker did not stop making ice when it was supposed to and the ice container constantly overflowed. He came out a couple of times more and adjusted it. I tried to put up with it, but it was never right. It overflows as I am writing this review. I guess Mr. Tatum gave up. I last called him a couple of weeks ago and he said he would come out and try to fix it again. I called him after a few days, and he said he had not been back because he was behind. I have not seen him since. I am out $165 and do not have a working ice maker.

He fixed the washer in a short amount of time for a VERY reasonable price. I am very pleased.

His replacement did not work at all. My dishwasher wouldn't drain and I couldn't wash my dishes in the dishwasher. I had to hand wash them. He told me it would be better to replace the motor in my older model dishwasher because they were made better than the newer models. He told me when he looked at it again after his fix did not work, that I was just going to have to hand wash my dishes, he said that's what he and his wife do anyway. So I am out about $350.00 and my dish washer still does not work.

They were prompt, came in and got the work done quickly, very friendly and my washing machine has worked well ever since.

About a month ago my oven stopped heating above 275 degrees so I called my home warranty service who sent out a repairman after a two week wait. The so-called repairman looked at the oven and stated that it could not be repaired nor could a replacement part be found (on a 10 year old Maytag) charged me a $50.00 service fee and left . I was given the name and number for Tatum's Appliance repair and when I called he promptly set and appointment date and came out on time as promised. After he brief exam of the oven he diagnosed the problem and had it repaired within 20 minutes of his arrival. Prior to leaving I mentioned that my garbage disposal didn't work and hadn't since I purchased my home a year ago. He examined it found the problem and had it repaired in 15 minutes at no extra charge than his agreed upon price ($65.00) for the initial oven repair.

When my oven stopped heating beyond 275 degrees I called Colonial Home warranty since I had purchased a home warranty policy with them and they sent a repairman who took two weeks to finally show up. He briefly looked at the oven and said that it could not be repaired and that they no longer made parts of a 10 year old oven. I called a local appliance repair service who suggested that I contact Tatum's Repair Service who promptly came out examined the oven and made the repair within 20 minutes of his arrival. He charged $35 for the service call and $30 for the repair for a total of $65.00. While on the premise I asked if he could take a look at my garbage disposal unit which had not worked since buying my home a year ago and had that working in 10 minutes at no extra charge. I can assure you that should I have need of any additional small appliance repairs Tatum's Appliance Repair is on my speed dial and will be the first call I make.
