It was very pricey to use pods to store. We were told that we would pay 150 a month and when we moved to our new home, we would have the pod delivered to our doorstep. Everything went fine for the year we had the pod. When it came down to actually moving; however, we had the most stressful time dealing with the moving experience. We called the first time and received a quote of how much it will cost to move our pod out of state (we received orders to move to Oklahoma) and it caught us off guard. The man told us it would cost 1,053. We were under the impression that part of our (pricey) monthly cost is to cover the cost of transportation. This is our fault for not reading the fine print (we were dealing with a deployment so our minds were elsewhere at that point in time). My husband and I discussed the quote together and agreed to pay the crazy price. We called back and spoke with another person who gave us a different quote. This quote was $600 more! We were completely baffled on why it had changed so much! She gave some fees and prices and other explanations that didn't really explain why there was such a huge leap from the first quote to hers. We got off the phone and discussed it yet again. We agreed to just bite that expensive bullet and have our pod delivered to us. We called again to pay for it and received yet another quote! This time it was close to $2,000! That's where I had to draw the line! I was so annoyed with the company and how it was being ran. I talked to the manager and he changed it to 1,697.53 and told us that the difference will be adjusted. This is still more than what we were told the first 2 times we spoke to the company. We go to pay for it and we find out that the pod doesn't get delivered to our doorstep like they claim. It would be delivered to a city about an hour away from where our new home was. The person explained that it could be delivered to us directly if we pay even more. I told them absolutely not, I'll find a way to get our things. They gave us a date and we made arrangements to pick our things up. The next day, the Pods company took money out of our account that was suppose to be adjusted. The only reason I know that was not because they notify us of the transaction but because I saw it was taken out on our bank statement. I called them and they said that they will refund it but it'll be about a week to get our money back. They didn't apologize for making the unauthorized charge or the inconvenience that was caused by them! We also get a phone call (automated of course) saying our pod hasn't started the delivering process because we had not signed the contract. This is the first time we have heard there was a new contract to sign. We even needed a new ID login number to access the contract, which we were not given at any point in time. So now the pod was going to arrive a week later. We had to change all our plans to pick up our things from the pod and we didn't have any help now on top of that. Just when we about had it with this whole experience, we find out the money that we were suppose to be refunded wasn't all refunded. They kept some of our money and told us that they kept it for mileage purposes. What? Does that make any sense? The customer service manager said we will not be receiving anymore money back. She was so rude. This was our absolutely terrible experience with the PODS company and I recommend not using them for moving.
Description of Work: Pods stored our house items while my husband deployed and I went back to my home state and when it came time to move, they delivered our things.
