I am unhappy with this service. I initally booked this service amd put plainly in the comments that I needed 4 outlets, 2 ceiling fans, light switches and power ran out to a 20x20 shed. I called and spoke to Amanda the day before, went over the project details again and got a list of items that we needed to purchase before they arrived. The day of service he arrived and claimed we didn't have everything. He then went to home depot to grab more things. When he came back we then discussed again what we needed done. He stated that, that wasn't what he was booked for. He did not install the ceiling fans or run power out to our shed as requested. He gave us a card and told us to to call to book him again and he would give us another estimate to finish the work. I feel like I was scammed out of my money. I would not use them again. This was my first time using Angi and I won't be using it again either.

Ben (the owner) was contacted to replace our existing deck. He did not show up when he said he would, and it took 2 1/2 weeks longer than he said. When we decided to add on to the deck a year later we contacted him again...knowing this time that the project would probably not be done in the time frame quoted. He completed the deck and then installed an awning over a section of it. Fast Forward one year....the deck is falling apart. We were told that he would use deck screw, but we have a bunch of rusted nails in the deck. The stairs are splitting, falling apart, and unsafe. The railings are loose, and the bottom rung is not even connected to the post. The gates are loose and falling off. We have had to have someone come and fix a lot of the boards since they were loose and lifting up. The actual railing on one side even fell off. I have contacted Ben numerous times about all of this...he told me that he would come by. He has never showed up and will not answer any phone calls or text messages. The asking that was installed seems to be doing fine, but the fan that he installed and did the wiring for doesn't work. We had to hire someone else to come out and fix that. I will not be using him again. I also do not recommend him. His prices are fair, but it ends up costing double to get everything fixed. Look up Sam Martinez with J&G Home Improvements he is awesome. He also has a coupon on Angie's List.

We are the ones with the roof that was never replaced (reported in June) as of this date 9/01/14 still no refund has been given!!! Still waiting!!!!!!!! New update! As of 10/29/14 Still haven't spoke to Benjamin Sequin and he still hasn't refunded our money. Mr. Sequin on his reply to Angies List that I wasn't a member!! I am!! Please remove from Electrical. Should be with my original post in Remodeling General.

As before, I have absolutely nothing but GOOD to say about the work, cost, punctuality, and quality of the work done. They were here when they said they would be and all was said and done in a timely matter. I will continue to use them as needed and give them a high mark on the work they do !

I Our roof was damaged in the hail storm of last April or May of 2013. We were told we had some damage but we hadn't gotten around to it yet. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas we spoke to Ben Sequin (His and Hers Remodeling) about checking our roof out because we were told we had some roof damage. He said it would be after the holidays before he could get to it and for us to get back in touch with him the week after Christmas. The insurance company sent out the inspector and turned in for the claim. When the check was received, we called Ben Sequin and advised him so he could come by and set everything up to put on the new roof. His quote for the job was $6450.00 and he stated he needed $2900.00 to start the job. We gave him a check for $2900.00 and he had us sign a contact and gave us a receipt for the $2900.00 deposit. We waited but he was a no show and we didn't hear from him. We tried to contact Mr. Sequin and left a lot of messages but he didn't return our calls and eventually his voice mail was full and we couldn't reach him at all. About four weeks later I called him and he finally answered. He apologized and said he had been in New York due to the death of his dad. We told him we understood and just please keep in touch with us and keep us posted when he was coming. He said he was ordering the materials and he would be here next week. We waited and; again, he was a no show. To make a long story short we have left lots of messages and when we did talk to him he kept saying they would be out on such and such date--all no shows. We have heard all kinds of excuses such as -he's behind due to-the weather- waiting on materials- his worker was in an accident while bringing the materials to our house and his trailer plus our materials were damaged. Still no show. At that time he said because of the tornados around Lee Road 165, he was doing work out there. He was supposed to be at our house on that following Monday guess what a no show. He did call me and tell me he would be out the next day {Tuesday} and guess what a no show. We then called him back. In the first week of May 2014 my sister used her phone and called him. He answered. He said it would be any day now. My sister told him that we just wanted our $2900.00 back so we could go elsewhere and get someone to fix our roof. At that time, Ben Sequin said he would have to get the money back from the manufacturer he was getting the materials from. He was supposed to called us back that afternoon or the next day. We have left messages for him advising him we still haven't heard anything regarding the refund of the deposit and to give us a call with the information or the refund. Ben Sequin didn't respond. We called him again last week and had to leave him a message again in which we let him know he was forcing us to do something we didn't want to do. He won't answer when I call. But if someone uses another number he answers. That tells me he is avoiding me. This amounts to one thing. He has taken our $2900.00 without doing anything!!! Today's date 6/23/14 still nothing!!y. He has had our money since January 14, 2014 and is avoiding us! Looks like we will have to take further action. Please read all the way through because these statements are true and it may keep you out of a very involved situation!!

Upon contracting this company to install this metal roof on this house on the agreed day, Ben did not show up until 4 day later than he sad he would with no call to say he would not be there until later. After completion of the roof it was noticed that the workers had left off 2 sections on both sides of the facial boards about a 6 to 8 foot sections. upon calling him back and getting him back up after days her finally got back up there and got it fixed. After the rains came the bedroom leaked and the laundry room. He was finally reached and he said he would come up and fix the leaks and paint the ceiling where it was circled and replace the insulation in the attic where it was wet and the light fixture in the laundry where it was leaking. He didn't come but sent someone else to fix the leaks. They did not address the insulation or the light or paint the ceiling (like the owner had promised). But they had fixed the leak in the bed room we come to find this out next rain. The laundry room was still leaking... After failed attempts of reaching Ben Seguin owner of His & Hers Home Improvements, I then tried to reach him for my mother and father in law on their behalf. They are well into their 80's and can't do some of this. So I contacted him and he said he was waiting on them to contact him to tell him if it was still leaking and if the ceiling was wet. I told him they could not get up there and that, they did not need to and that he needed to go back up there like he had promised to do and take care of the situation. I informed him that the roof was still leaking in the laundry room and it was soaking the water heater and the blanket on it. He said no problem he would bring one and replace it. On March 18th I met him up at the house and he looked to see what he needed to do and said he would be back on Thursday March 20th to do the work. He did show up this time and made one thin coat of kiltz on the stain in the ceiling in bed room and didn't do anything to the insulation in the bedroom. He did take the blanket off and said its ok and put it back on without replacing it and taped it back on the heater. He said he would come back in a few days to repaint with more kiltz and to make it rain with a hose to make sure the leak was fixed. It has now been almost 3 weeks and we have not heard from him and he has not been back to check the leak or paint the ceiling. The leaks are now fixed and it has been a headache but we are left to deal with the painting he said he would take care of and making sure no mold will come of the leak because he did not replace the insulations like he said he would. I feel he has taken advantage of them due to their age and ability to get around.

It was awful! It was horrible! I had met with him because I wanted my kitchen redone. I loved his ideas and I was very excited about him getting to work. He was supposed to get to work but I had a medical emergency and I ended up in the hospital having an emergency surgery. My daughter met with him and he was to go on with the work. He had $1900 that I paid him as deposit. I was trying to get that back. He doesn't answer any phone calls and he won't return a call. It has been horrible! I don't really know where to go from here to try and get my money back. He won't respond and he won't pick up the phone when I call. I left messages which he did not return. He was called everyday for I don't know how long. No response, nothing. He kept the money. I thought I was going to love it because I loved his ideas and I was excited looking forward to it. We had to hire somebody to come in and finish it up. My daughter didn't want me coming home from the hospital when the house was in that shape, it wasn't livable. So he put a piece of cardboard on the floor and said now it's livable. It was the week of the 18th of November when he was supposed to start work. He said he could finish the kitchen by Thanksgiving so I had invited people for Thanksgiving dinner in my new kitchen. As it turned out, I was in the hospital on Thanksgiving and had had an emergency surgery which of course he was informed of this and this was what was going on, but he was to go on with the work. I paid $1900 upfront to get started which I was happy to pay. He had $1900 for all that, I had a piece of cardboard on my floor and had to hire people to come in and put a floor and do other work. The price would have been fine. I actually wanted him to do 3 jobs around here which we had discussed, but of course he said he would take care of that.

Estimate was free and work detailed was around 1500-3000 depending on what we decided on for them to do. They gave an initial estimate and I was ready to go with them, but then I tried to contact for work and they never responded to calls or returned phone calls.

Everything about this company was great...

After getting several estimates, we decided to go with Ben Seguin for three reasons. First, we were told that his company could do all of the work without having other contractors involved. Secondly, he could match the color of our dining room table, which was important to us, and finally, he said the work could be done in 1day which would have had the job completed before Thanksgiving! Initially, he was going to coordinate the countertop installation, but the company that he used was uncooperative and evasive. That is a long story! We found another company that was great to do the countertop. Ben was very cooperative and accommodating to our wants and needs. He had very good ideas and was very encouraging during the planning stages. The overall plan was for him to prepare the project off site and install everything in one day. Several delays occurred, some of which were not Ben's fault. However, the project slowed and installation seemed tedious and we missed our Thanksgiving goal. It was understandable that even though this was a fairly small project, there were details that caused a longer than expected installation. But it did seem that communication was lacking and several times he was difficult to reach and took longer than expected, especially with the details. The bulk of the installation was indeed in one day, but he was unable to complete the drawers, glass work, and wood finishing. He had to reschedule and after several return visits most of the work was completed. We actually were not completely satisfied with the wood finish, so we sanded and applied several more coats of finish. The lower pull-out shelf runners are heavy duty and auto-closing, andv work fine. However, the lower shelf construction was a bit wide and scraped the edges of the doors and frame, so he had to adjust and shave the sides. They are much better but we still have a few issues with the width of the shelves themselves. There were 2 additional shelves that he promised us (because of the delays, they were not part of the original quote), but he never completed nor installed them, and has not returned our calls. The upper drawers were out of adjustment but after he adjusted them on a return visit they are now satisfactory. The upper unit is good and attractive. One door on the upper unit and one door on the lower unit came loose from the hinges and I had to reinstall the hinge and reattach the doors. The electrical work was good and complete. Overall the project is attractive and functional. We are enjoying the addition to our home, but there are a few more 'tweaks' that we'll do to the unit to make it just like we want. Ben has good ideas and seems very willing, but might have a tendency to over commit and miss some detail. He's very personable and likeable, but could have communicated better during project.

Last fall he put in the outdoor metal awning with the ceiling fan. A few weeks later he put in two new doors with framing. About the same time he installed heat shield in the entire attic of my house. Shortly there after he repaired my skylight that had started leaking. Throughout the whole time he was doing the work, he was always very nice and professional. He was also willing to work with us to get the job done the way we wanted it.
