Description of Work: I chose this company to move us from Alabama to Kansas. Their bid came in as the middle bid out of three companies. They actually are part of the Stevens Worldwide Van Lines. On the front end they were very helpful with suggestions and supplies. Easy to work with. When it came to moving day they provided a big crew and helped with final boxing of items that we couldn't get to beforehand. Our move filled the entire truck. I didn't find out until later that the crew dropped one of our big heavy items (a beautiful and solid office desk). The delivery had to be delayed a few days because of another job and because they didn't have a crew big enough. There were 8-10 men helping on the front end and only 3 men on move-in day. We treated the crews well, we provided drinks, we fed them lunch, and we tipped well. Our upholstered furniture had some kind of pest (possibly bed bugs) when delivered. We were told our stuff was stored somewhere for a while. The men evidently dropped and majorly scratched some pieces of furniture and strategically placed them in our home so that I couldn't find the damage until later... what has happened to integrity, honesty, and character? No one... not a single mover ever said anything. We didn't get anywhere with Secure Moving Inc. When we contacted Stevens Worldwide Van Lines they were less than helpful. I will never use any company connected to Stevens Worldwide Van Lines again.

+ -1 moreWe didn't use them to pack our belongings and the move into storage went well. I was disappointed at the treatment our furniture received in storage. The move into the new house went ok, the movers failed to bring a copy of the inventory list so that we could make sure all the belongings were present and then note any damaged items. Several items were damaged and noted at the time with the driver. I felt I was fair in my request for repairs. I submitted 2 items. The company isn't willing to replace the value on a lamp that is not repairable. I went to the original store and had the lamp assessed and also found the exact lamp and the cost for replacing it and submitted a copy of the estimate from the store owner to the movers. Also, there was damage to an appliance, the repairman I called said that my appliance was dropped or roughly handled and the moving company is unwilling to pay for any part of the repair, claiming it was the age of the appliance, which was 5 years old.
Description of Work: The company moved our household goods from one location into storage for 16 months and then into our new home.
