Description of Work: HORRIBLE experience with this company. My AC unit went out. I called my insurance company to assign a company to fix the issue. Thinking this would be a one, maybe two time visit at the most. NO... it's turned into A YEAR of frustrating, shoddy, and unintelligent work. I was fed up with the repeated problems and issues that Meyers could not fix. I called my insurance to request another vendor. After the new vendor came out they found the issue, but couldn't fix it because it was something MEYERS replaced/worked on. So I'm stuck with Meyers until they actually do their job. On top of that the receptionist is utterly rude and disrespectful when I try to call and talk to a manager. Refusing to let me talk, leave a message, or even take my call to the manager. I was still polite on the phone. Not sure if they have bad days up they or what, but it's just very unprofessional in work and customer experience.

Description of Work: This is one of the worst companies that I have ever dealt with. They are very dishonest and I will never use or recommend them to anyone in the future. They are the company that American Home Shield uses and it is there business to string a customer along by just putting a bandaide on the real problem until the home warranty has expired. There were out three times for the same issue and just put Freon into the system. When our warranty was up and I called for a 4th time, low and behold they found that there was a leak and the cost will be $3000 to repair. I contacted AHS and they told be that it was still under a 60 day recheck. Meyers refused to send AHS a diagnosis and then lied to AHS saying that I fraudulently called them for a replacement quote. AHS was notified and it has finally been repaired, by a different company. All of this with no air for 13 days while Meyers would not return a single phone call that I made to them. American Home Shield should definitely use someone else and If they direct you to Meyers, tell them you would like someone else. I gave them every opportunity to make this right and they refused! I have never dealt with such a awful company before. Very upsetting.

The last visit was to recharge system and look for leak. System was replaced by Meyers in early May, but hasn't worked for more than 10 days at a time, since. Meyers refused to come back, until additional money paid to them for "code work". Obtained two second opinions from professional companies. Both agreed, no code work needed, Meyers was just trying to scam us and make up the difference between what home warranty pays them and what they would like to be making on this work. Both company technicians also agreed some of the work Meyers did was not compliant with the mechanical or gas codes. Reported them to State HVAC board. After investigation by the State, Meyers has 20 days to "make things right", still have not heard from them. Gas furnace was replaced in January and Meyers wanted additional $800.00 for "code required work" that the home warranty company did not cover. I suspect that money I paid, was unnecessary. They did no more than install the furnace and made no code required upgrades. The above information has been verified, most personally witnessed and work has been reviewed by me, Jeff Crain. I have been a registered Master Plumber and Master Gas Fitter with the State of Alabama and still am. I put this rating here to help others avoid having the same experience and not to unjustly denigrate a service company.
Description of Work: Low on Freon, recharged and attempted to repair leak in system. Said, "they needed to order parts" and needed additional $400 for code required work.

Description of Work: Our 25 year old AC broke. Unfortunately, this business is the only home American Home Shield uses so they wouldn't replace the unit if they think they could repair it. The tech came out to fix it only to realize he didn't have the part and it was going to take a couple days to get it and come back. The fact that AC units are only supposed to be good for 10-15 years and this one lasted much longer, the idea of just putting a "band-aid" on it until it broke again is not acceptable. If you have American Home Shield, I would call them and tell them you want other options besides Meyers.

Meyer was dispatched by our home warranty company to repair our air conditioner which had quit working. As of today, it has been almost one month and no repair has been done. We have had always had a good experience with Meyer in the past including purchasing some large systems from them for our rental homes. This experience has been horrible. They came out about four weeks ago and said they were ordering a compressor. After more than 20 calls to them, we finally had to get the warranty company and our attorney to get them to commit to coming next Tuesday to finish the repair. We have not received one call from them regarding this mess - we have had to make every call. I will never use them again.

There is a leak somewhere in the system. They have been back 5 times and it still does not work properly. Will not cool (hold a charge) for more than about 10 hrs. Upon replacing the original, they wanted a $400.00 disposal charge (not paid by warranty). This is a component that will sell at scrap yard for more than $100.00.

Description of Work: This company was scheduled as a second opinion by AHS because the first company said our unit was not repairable. After 2 visits from Myers, AHS STILL could not get a detailed diagnosis from them. They said that the employee they sent out had not been back to work and therefore they couldn't fill in all the blanks. Ridiculous. The receptionist was incredibly rude talking over me as I tried to explain what was happening. It has been 2 weeks and I still have no AC unit! As I write this review, I have been put on hold at this point for 26 minutes and still have no information on a new AC Unit although AHS authorized it last Fri. I did mention the bad service and problems with Myers to AHS but to no avail. I would never use or recommend Myers Comfort Specialists, LLC EVER again. At this point, it would have been worth the money and time to purchase a unit on our own. I'm sure other reviewers will concur. |

Intially tried to fix leak in coil with quick fix fluid, did not work. Came back replaced coil, still not working, had to install new condensor unit. Excessive water build up in drip pan because tech did not install splash guard with new coil It is December (4 months) later and I still do not have a function AC unit.

I signed up for the maintenance last year. They are really great. They give us an honest estimate. If the work is not needed, they don't give us an estimate for it but just tell us what needs to be done and they are honest about it. They are on time and they are just really good to deal with.

Not good...would not and have not used them after this experience.
Description of Work: We used Myers because of the home warranty that came with our home when we purchased it. Had an a/c compressor go out on one of two units ( larger one ) Its been awhile since we used them, do my best to recall svc. Seems as though it took them awhile to get to as it was summer and they were very busy. Office staff was friendly and attentive. Most of the svc techs were not very sure of what they were doing or maybe just did not seem to like what they were doing. First team ordered the parts after making sure it was under warranty stll...took some time to get it installed and the guys left wires and materials all over..unit do not seem to work right made alot of noise, called them back a difftent tech came out dont remember his name but he was much better tried to explain what did what and what he was doing..appreciated that even though i know nothing about HVAC . Had a bad comprssor so had to order another one...another tech came out to installed this one at the end of his extreamly busy day...5:30 or so when he showed. Installed compressor seemed to be working....next day house felt warm..called them againg sent another tech out and found the the system was not charged properly with freon...and that another part that was not working should have been replaced the first time...also a rubber insulator or support on the bottom of the compressor was just laying in the bottom of the unit, part of the noise problem but the first tech had bent the fan blade on the first visit.....WOW..what an ordeal. They came out each time..probally due to their contract with the warranty company...replaced all items that we damaged/not working..but the confidence I assuredly did not nor do i have with their techs....

I would recommend them. They are professional to deal with. When they say they will be there they are there. If you say you have a problem then you have a problem, they don't try to price gauge you or anything like that.
Description of Work: Meyers Air Conditioning Heating and Plumbing Inc replaced some part that was broken and also serviced the AC by cleaning it. THhey will come back in the fall and do the same thing for the heaters.

Our first cold snap occurred approx. 11/02 or 11/03 of 2010. When I returned home on 11/05 I called AHS (warranty) and placed a service request. I finally received a call on Tuesday 11/9 informing me a technician would be out between 10 & 2 the next day. The technician arrived about 4 pm and shortly after informed me he couldn't fix the heater a part would have to be ordered and no, he couldn't tell me when the part would be in. I finally got a call 11/16 saying a technician would be at my home between 2 and 6 on Wed 11/17. The tech did not show and did not call. After calling Myers (no answer) and calling AHS who called Myers I was told I could the tech was running late and would come later that night. The tech called and left a message he was on his way to my house at 10:29. At 1 am I finally went to bed and tech had not arrived nor called again to cancel. I called the company this morning and was told it would be Friday before they had an open appt. I then called AHS and miraculously the company had a cancellation and the tech would be here between 10 am and 2 pm. At 2 pm the tech had not arrived. At 2:15 I called the company again and was told the tech was on his way. The tech FINALLY arrived at 2:52 pm. I have told AHS to put this company on my refusal list and I listed the only company that is acceptable to me. Not only that, but, I will be finding a new warranty company. But, that's another review!!!

The service man was on time and very professional. He did all the work in about an hour and left the spaces clean and working properly.
Description of Work: We have a home warranty through American Home Shield and this is the contractor that they use on service calls. I was only required to make a co-pay and everything else was covered. He replaced a leaking water supply valve at the toilet and repaired the overflow pump on our heating/ac system.

I remember the problem we were having. The price seemed like it was very poor for the course for whatever it cost to get it done. The guy who did the work was very thorough. He stuck with it and finished it in a timely manner. He kept us abreast of what was going on and did the job exceeding well.

Myers came here on time to work on my toilet. The worker was friendly and very professional. I was pleased with the service. He was done in a couple hours and he cleaned everything up. I would highly recommend this company to others. The price was reasonable.

We are under a contract for all our maintenance, and we only pay a monthly deductible. They have had to supply Freon in our unit, and it was covered by the company. They do a great job maintaining our system, and they offer a reliable service any time we need it.

Myers Air Conditioning did an excellent job. The gentleman who showed up was very professional and knowledgeable. He was also very good about cleaning up after himself. I was very pleased with this experience and will continue to use them.

Myers Plumbing & A/C did a really good job. When I called them they came out right away. They answered all my questions and gave me a good price. I have also had them fix my A/C unit and was real pleased with the results. I have had no problems with them.
