Walked in, spent 10 min. Said he didn’t have the ability to fix. Left. Said he would have the office call. Haven’t heard a word about reschedule.

Technician came out in response to a home warranty claim. Toilet was leaking downstairs and flushed extremely slow and at times not at all. Told me my toilet was bad and in his opinion needed to be replaced due to the “ swirl of death”. Put in his report to warranty company that toilet needs repairing and that a new toilet would be a upgrade.

K&S Plumbling came out to one of my properties to fix a water leak to a pipe connected to my water heater. I was uncomfortable with the high cost so I called a trusted company to review what they called modifications to the pipe. The company informed me they placed a 40 cent fitting with no modifications and the cost was very high for the service. I called K&S to ask what modifications was done and they were unable to explain. The company sent my money back. My home insurance plan AHS sent them out to service a water heater at another property and they sent me this huge bill for all the modifications that needed to be done. This company is unethical and shady. Do not trust this company or please get a second opinion before allowing them to complete any work.

Our homeserve insurance sent them. Very difficult to get someone to come in a timely manner (7 day wait initially) First technician (on Fri) did not protect our carpet or wall before opening up a pipe. Cut a huge hole in our ceiling. Left mess for us to clean up, not sure carpet is salvageable. Could not fix clog. Said someone would be out on Tues. No one called/came. Again said it would be 4 days when I called. Finally got someone out next day. Got it running but stopped back up immediately with first run of water/disposal, stopped back up. Called them back and they refused to come back without filing another claim. Also told us "we don't do clean up" and when they told us to put enzymes down and asked if they would "we don't do that". So we are on Day 6 of no kitchen sink/dishwasher in the middle of a pandemic with all the family at home.

I never do reviews, good, bad, or otherwise. I am doing this one because Angies list kept badgering me via email. Just search comments on the BBB website and Facebook for this company. All of the negative comments are accurate. I honestly dont even know if they are an actual company. Hope that helps.

Not well at all. I have American Home Shield(AHS) for my home repairs. I called them because I thought I had a plumbing blockage in my clean out pipe. Jennifer for K&S Plumbing called me to set up an appt. for 2/18/16, 12-5pm, the repairman name is Donnie. He didn't show up, called Jennifer back, the ticket wasn't sent to dispatch, we rescheduled for 2/19/16 first am, same repairman. Donnie arrived at 10am, showed me it wasn't the clean out pipe but a leak in the waterline running next to the clean out pipe and it was not covered by AHS, but the 75.00 service fee still applied. I knew this, I've used AHS for 12 plus years .I asked?Donnie if he could fix it and what it would cost. Donnie told me it would be 75.00 an hour to dig the hole and? it depended on how far out in the yard he had to repair the leak. At this point I called my son in law, Donnie?verified the same while we were on the phone. Based on the information above I told him to go ahead. It took him less than 1/2 hour to dig the hole, it was approx. 2 1/2ft. ?by 2 ft., the PVC pipe he replaced was 8?1/2 inches long and approx. 18 inches from the house. The invoice was 475.00 including the 75.00 service fee for AHS. I paid him with my credit card. After talking to my son in law, I called a couple of other plumbers, they and I feel I was taken advantage of as a single senior woman. I called Jennifer at K&S Plumbing, told her what happened, asked for an itemized bill and a call from the manager,?they?emailed me the same invoice and did not call me back. I called Jennifer again, explained what happened,?I told her I wanted a call back for the manager and an itemized statement including their hourly rate,?she said she would refer it to the manager again.?I told her I felt I was taken? overcharged and wanted the bill revised to a fair charge for?the work completed?and a refund for the difference. Donnie was here about 2 hours , that comes out to 200.00 an hour!? I got the same invoice emailed to me and still no call back from the manager. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, CASE # 85065840. In K&S response they claim Donnie? mentioned to me, the customer, that a typical spot repair on a water line in the yard runs anywhere from $500-700. (This absolutely untrue, and?it wasn't in my yard it was 18 inches from my house in the flower bed).? They claim Donnie told me he would just do it for an even?400.00. Not true either, if he had told me that I would have told him NO. After going back and forth several times, I decided to close the complaint, it was very clear, K&S wasn't willing to even talk to me about a resolution and?unprofessional.? Because of this experience, I have subscribed to Angie's List to be sure I'm not taken advantage of again. I should have done this sooner, if I had and checked it, I would not have done business with K&S Plumbing.

Description of Work: They were to unstop the backed up bathrooms upstairs. However when he was in the driveway I noticed water in my basement. I was referred to them from my home warranty choice warranty. Once I saw the water in my basement I advised the plumber and he said there was nothing he could do and he left. Once I did a further look in the basement I noticed he cleared the backup upstairs by flooding my basement with sewage. I had to call my homeowners insurance and they sent serve pro out because the entire basement which is finished was flooded with raw sewage. I contacted the owner whom came out and apologized for his worker and he is working with allstate so allstate can go through his insurance company for the damage. Needless to say it has been a mess as I have to hire contractors to get my basement back in order. I was so upset that thier employee didn't even want to come inside to address the problem but just left saying nothing he can do. Thankfully the owner Kiefer was nice and apologized. However I would never use them again nor recommend them. The Servepro guy said this is the not first time they have been called to a home to clean up after this plumber.

my hot water heater stopped working and had a small leak at the bottom of it. i called k&s plumbing and they sent a technician out the next morning. i was very surprised at how professional he was. my water heater needing replacing due to it leaking and could not be repaired. everything was explained to me (in lamens terms so i could understand) and i was quoted a price to install a new water heater. i called two other local companies and got prices. k&s was not the cheapest but they did do more work then the other companys agreed to do, like sweeping the work area after they were done, updating the pipes to meet code and take the old water heater away. i would recommend them to anyone in need of plumbing services!!

It went horribly. The experience was entirely dreadful. Sink faucet repair was requested through American Home Shield due to low water flow. The K&S Plumber failed to repair the problem, leaving the state of water flow worse than before he arrived, and leaving puddles of water on the floor, counter, and window blinds. The K&S Plumber last told me he was going to Lowes to retrieve a part he needed to complete his work, but the plumber disappeared never to return, without ever again making contact with me.

Complaint Summary On July 16, 2014 Daniel Sullivan of K&S Plumbing, at the request of American Home Shield Warranty Company, began to provide plumbing services to my home at XXXX YYYY Drive, Hoover, AL 35226. Specific complaints include: 1) refusal to provide itemized bill, 2) misrepresenting the need for permits, 3) improper use of funds, 4) too many people on the job, 5) poor service to include improper recommendations and poor concrete restoration, and 6) inappropriate pricing practices. Specific Dates 7/16/14 Sullivan came to my house and determined the sewer pipe between the foundation and the septic system was collapsed. He informed me, via phone about the repair, and he said ?How does $9,000 sound?? I answered it was under my emergency fund budget of $10,000. I did not feel in a position to get a second opinion, as I had hoped some part of the expense would be covered by the home warranty company that sent K&S plumbing to my home. Nor was I aware his plumbing services should be bargained for. When you have a whole house stoppage of your sewer system, you just don?t think of bargaining. Sullivan said he needed to get permits, told me not to use the plumbing ?too much? (minimal toilet flushing, no laundry, minimal sink use) and left me with essentially an open sewer, namely a big hole in the back yard with no connection to septic tank. He did not give a return date. 7/18/2014 I called ?Kiefer? at K&S Plumbing and asked when repair would happen. He answered Sullivan was on vacation till 7/24 and the repair would take place at that time. I told him that was not acceptable and he sent his father, Danny, the company owner, out on 7/22/2014. 7/22/2014 Repair work performed. Essentially they put in two cleanouts and about 8 feet of PCV pipe. They charged me $8,500, claiming it was the $9,000 minus $500 because they did not have to take my deck down, someone else did that for me, charging me $250. When they went to cover the hole with the backhoe, I asked if the inspector needed to inspect the uncovered work due to permits. At that time they told me no permits were needed. Subsequent calls to appropriate county officials support that claim. At the end of the day, I wanted to tip the man who had dug the hole and I only had 2 twenty dollar bills. I wanted to give the man $30, so I said to Danny and Kiefer I would write the check for $8,510 and they should give the man $10 in addition to the $20 cash I gave him. According to the ?itemized? bill I received on the first attempt to ask for an itemized bill, the $10 never went to the man. I will make a separate complaint to the Alabama Wage and Hours Board about this. 7/23/2014 Called Kiefer for an itemized bill. Original bill and ?itemized? bill are attached. The ?itemized bill did not break out services or costs. 7/24/2014 Called for a real itemized bill. Kiefer said he would send but did not. 7/26/2014 Called for a real itemized bill. Left message. 7/28/2014 Called for real itemized bill. Talked to Kiefer who said he would send it. Subsequently I got a resend of the 7/23/2014 bill. Then I called again and talked to the owner Danny who informed me he had no idea why Kiefer would agree to send me an itemized bill as K&S is a ?flat rate company?. This even though he was working for a home warranty company who would never accept flat rate billing and Daniel gave me an itemized quote of installing a clean-out , $1300, and reseating a toilet, $250. 7/31/2014 Spoke to a representative of American Home Shield where I have also filed a complaint. She told me she spoke to Danny who told her ANY sewer repair was $8500. With specific respect to complaints 4) too many people on the job, and 5) poor service to include improper recommendations and poor concrete restoration the details include. To dig a 6-8 foot hole he brought Danny the plumber, a backhoe and two helpers, one of whom dug and the other of whom was his teenage son. Poor service includes diagnosing a gas leak at my stove which Sullivan said did not require the stove gas to be shut off. A subsequent appliance person said the leak was hazardous. Sullivan also said my toilet did not need reseating, it was merely ?inconvenient? that it rocks. As for 6) inappropriate pricing practices, I have yet to be able to determine if I was fairly charged, given I have not been able to get an itemized bill. BBB
Description of Work: K&S plumbing ripped me off for rougnly $4,000, for the sewer repair at my home. He refused to provide me or the BBB with any itemization of the bill. He refused to cooperate with the BBB process even though he is a member. Mine is the second BBB complaint about inappropriate pricing practices. I am now taking my case to the Alabama Attorney General Consumer Protection Division. Stay far away from these plumbers!

It didn't go well for me at all. I was informed by their rep that I had a code violation. I had a drum trap and the replacement cost would be $2200.00. Of course I wanted to know how that was a violation when I hadn't made any repairs in the past and was totally unaware of any codes since my original contract with them, but I was told to check my latest contract for details. I decided to get a second opinion before letting this company do the work. First of all , the plumber did not arrive on time and didn't call to let me know he was running behind. When he did arrive, there was no friendly professional greeting. I explained the problem, he brought a cable tool in and proceeded to unclog the tub drain from outside the tub area. After several attempts, he steps inside the tub with his grimy shoes on ( it had been raining off and on all day) . I offered to give him a work cloth but he used a very dirty rag he had brought in and said it was going to get dirty anyway and continued using the cable. Then he ran water in the tub, but it didn't drain out. He didn't try to clean up, when I asked if he was going to clean up, he said he had no way to do so. Well, I found a way and dipped the dirty water out. This is when I discovered the nicks in my tub from his use of the cable line. It was the most unprofessional experience that I have ever had with a service provider and hope never to encounter a situation like that again.
Description of Work: Tried to unclog upstairs tub drain using a cable inside the tub. After several tries, and running water in the tub he checks the basement area. After sliding ceiling tiles under the tub area, he searches around using his cell phone light and tells me he's unable to make the repair because I have a drum trap. I asked if he needed to use my flashlight because I had difficulty seeing the area, but he continues moving the cell phone light in the place he wants me to look. He states that he needs to call American Home Shield for further instructions. I have had a home warranty contract American Home for years. what he was referring to, but he continued shining the phone light and said he had to call American Home Shield Service. I have had a home warranty contract with them for years

The plumber assured us that the work would we be done by him and his son. That was the last time we saw him (and never saw his son) until he came to pick up the check. They tore out the shower in the bathroom to deal with a leak and had to replace the shower interior and bathroom cabinet, as well as some sheet rock that got wet. The work was done quickly, but the vanity they took out had drawers and shelves. The one they replaced it with was the cheapest cabinet they could find. The tile work looks like something I did myself. Overall, not at all pleased with the aesthetics.
Description of Work: Plumber tore out the shower, vanity, bathroom flooring to dry up water caused by a leak in the shower and replaced the shower stall, vanity and flooring.

I had to pay $450 to someone else to come out and fix the problems K&S created!!!! Did not go well!
Description of Work: cut huge hole in the floor under my sink to put pipe in...hole was 3 times as big as pipe. Then said he didn't do woodwork and wasn't responsible. Made my shower leak and then said he didn't know what was wrong with it.
