Pools Plus

Gary and Chuck are always very helpful and knowledgeable. Use them for all of my pool needs. At the end of the 2012 pool season my filter pump locked up. Gary worked with me early the next season to replace it. They were timley and did good work.

My hot tub has been serviced a couple of times by Pools Plus. Technician has always been on time and performed service promptly. I purchase hot tub supplies from them. They are the only company that provides service for D1 spas. I am thankful for the local service.

I began writing this review in August 2013 and it's now mid-July 2014 and I feel the need to complete this and share it with all. Let me preface this by stating my wife and I are building a new home north of Huntsville on 1.4 acres of land. We WILL be having a pool installed. Getting our business is like stealing candy from a kid....there's absolutely no question that we will be pool owners. It's now down to the matter of who will get our business. Initial contact was made with Pools Plus on July 27, 2013 when we my wife and I visited their store on Hwy 431 and spoke with Chuck. He indicated that the person in charge of new construction, Gary, was currently on vacation. Chuck also indicated that he would be seeing Gary that evening, even though he was on vacation, and that he would pass along our information and make sure Gary knew we stopped by the store. No response. August 1, 2013 - I looked up Pools Plus' website, found the phone number for, and quot;New Constructionand quot;, and called it and left a very detailed message with what kind of pool we wanted, that we're building a home, etc. No response. August 7, 2013 - Contacted the main number of Pools Plus and spoke with Chuck again, who remembered me from when my wife and I visited the store on July 27. He was very surprised that Gary had not been in touch with us, and seemed to have the impression that we had already talked to Gary. Far from accurate. August 8, 2013 - Contacted the main number of Pools Plus, again, and spoke to Chuck again and said he had not seen Gary since we talked the previous day but would be sure to let Gary know I had called again. Sept 2013 - We decided to drive to Pools Plus to meet with Gary. We sat down with him for about 15 minutes before he started showing signs that he wasn't interested in talking to us any more. In fact, he got up and left my wife and I sitting at the counter when another customer entered the store (and there was another Pools Plus employee who had made contact with the new arrival). January 2014 - Gary contacted me via phone and inquired if we were still pool shopping. I told him yes, we spoke for a couple minutes and indicated he would get an e-mail to me with an updated quote. I never received an e-mail. July 21, 2014 - We DID NOT choose Pools Plus for our pool needs and we are approximately 2 weeks from the completion of our back yard oasis that is being created by another fantastic, Huntsville

The subcontractors that they used were top notch. They showed up when they said they would and did very professional work. Of those contractors that I talked to who did work for several pool companies around town said that Pools + were the best at giving the little extras for the customer that make a difference like back filling behind the pool walls with gravel instead of dirt so it wouldn't settle and using over-sized pipes throughout. Even with the problems they ran into like water seeping into the hole, they finished in a timely manner and gave me a beautiful pool that has been easy to take care of and looks great.

Gary Turchetta, the owner of Pools Plus, is a really nice guy. He's very informative, and very up front with costs, extra's, etc. His work crew is composed of a wonderful group of contracted employees. They are very punctual, polite, and respectful men. They worked hard, and I never witnessed them standing around wasting time, as they had a job to do, and might I add, they do their jobs well. They are literal perfectionists. At the end of each work day they clean up the work site, remove debris, etc....unlike my builder's not so conscientious contractors. They take pride in their job and their worksite as it's a reflection of Pools Plus. I'd recommend Pool's Plus to anyone wanting to install an inground pool. I believe Gary uses higher quality products than his competitors which in turn protects my investment. We could not he happier with the end product. Too bad I cannot post pictures, because I'm proud of the finished product. This will bring my family and friends many years of enjoyment, not to mention, it looks pretty fabulous too! We were satisfied with them. They were the most reasonable and they were extremely easy to work with. They explained every single detail as much as we needed. They were the best. We had a pool and it needed huge refurbishing. It was like an old Spartan pool and the old liner had to be cleared out and the siding had to be fixed so they did all of that first. Now they are proceeding with putting in the new fabrication. They had pictures. We went to visit the showroom. They invited us over to another person's house they had put a pool in. We weren't sure about a liner so he said we can go to that house and see what the liner looks like in a pool. He was very helpful. He had the list of all the different pool liners so before you put it in, you can visit those addresses and you look at the actual pool with the liner in it so you can get a better idea. He was really nice about showing us how everything was hooked up. He was very good to work with. He always comes and watches and checks the site as the job is being done. He asks if we have any more questions. He is very flexible. He offers lots of different styles and materials. It's gonna be a mess because of the digging but they make it where you can walk back into your backyard. They always clean up your driveway so that you can go down your driveway. They're awesome.
