If Dusty would have finished the job he started I probably would have given him and his workers a better rating, but he didn't. He walked on the job and left several tasks that I had paid him out for undone. All in all, I probably lost 500.00 in unfinished work that he had promised. If you need a rough (roofing-type job), but decent quality job done quickly, I'd hire Dusty. He and his crew of 10 set trusses and put a new roof on a 900 sqft building in 1.5 days. That was great. I was happy with that. I then hired him to do some interior work in the house I am remodeling, this included a host of things I just wasn't going to get to myself. This is when things went bad. Some tasks he did fine, like make a custom hand rail for a stairwell. This looked good. But he was clearly over committed with other jobs and the paint job was bad, he set towel bars and toilet roll holders in apparently random places on the wall, he glued a pivoting mirror to the wall rather than using the pivots, did not replace all the electrical plugs like he had started for the rest of the house, left a broken garbage disposal in place and the most disappointing and frustrating thing was that he wouldn't return my phone calls to handle any of these complaints or finish the work he had specified. In hindsight, I think he intentionally played me. For example, I gave him a list of items he needed to do, but I didn't have a copy myself, so at the end I couldn't absolutely verify all the items we had agreed upon. He wouldn't return the list. He "lost" it. Plus, after I paid him out he was in a bit of a rush to get the check cashed. I never heard back from after that. I had paid him a substantial amount of money for the rough jobs on the garage and patching a drive etc; and so I thought we had a fairly trustworthy relationship at that point, but at the end I felt taken advantage of and cheated. I cannot recommend him for any work because of this.
