They were very quick to come out and do an assessment of the issue. Their repairman was spot on when assessing what was wrong. The service charge was over $100, but it does work off as a credit against the bill. They had to order the part so it took several days to get it in, but when it arrived they installed it the next day. I did not let them fix the dryer because the quote was higher than I wanted to pay. They quoted $550 to fix, but I could buy the part (new drum) for $200 and I installed it in about 30 minutes myself. Overall this is a good company that will do what they say they will do. They are a little more expensive than I expected, but it has been several months and the repair has held up so they are probably worth it.
Description of Work: Replaced a small part on the door of my washer and quoted a repair on the dryer.

See previous explanation. Just dont use APPLIANCE CONNECTION for appliance repair.
Description of Work: Serviceman was supposed to be MAYTAG CERTIFIED to analyze my dishwasher. He looked at the machine and opened it up and spinned the motor, as I suggested to him. He tried to start the machine, but I had to tell him how to actuate the pump. He said he thought I had a bad motor. I replaced my motor with a new motor, but that did not fix the problem. He got it wrong. I called the Appliance Connection people to see if they wanted to come out and diagnose the REAL problem withmy machine at no extra cost (because they got it worong the first time) and they refused. As far as I am concerned, this serviceman was not Maytag certified, or he didnt really know what he was doing. I suggest you avoid the APPLIANCE CONNECTION company if you need repairs.

Over all the whole job was a flop. Do not get Appliance Connection to do anything for you. David Levitz Stein
Description of Work: This was a very bad experience for us. First, they funbled with the original microwave and had trouble getting it out of the cabinet. It was a built in microwave. Then they, without looking at the template (to show them where the holes would be drilled to accompany the unit. They just started drilling like a fool. Anyway, my cabinets are ruined. Then, they proceeded to cram the new microwave into the spot, and they figured out they drilled the holes in the wrong spot. At that point, they drilled two large holes into the wall in the back of the unit. Then, he said that my house was not built correctly. At that point, I just did not want to talk with them any more. I just wanted to hurry up and just leave. However, the story is not over yet. The microwave broke down just after a year. So now I just use the piece of s*** for a spice cabinet. That is all it is good for. I just do not want anyone else in my house drilling holes. So, my fellow Americans, do not get Appliance Connection to do anything in your house, or it will be ruined. Thank you. David Levitz Stein

My son came home the week before Thanksgiving to visit. The heating element in my dryer burned out on Tuesday. On Wednesday I contacted Appliance Connection. They confirmed that they had the appropriate part in stock and scheduled me for an appointment on Thursday. At my request and to my relief the technician, Michael Roberts, was able to come that afternoon instead. He replaced the heating element and checked the airflow from the dryer and from the outside vent. Due to the way the dryer vent was routed to the outside, I had little to no airflow. Because he did not have the the appropriate equipment to clean out the outside vent, which was approximately 20 feet from the dryer, he gave me the name and number of a company in Birmingham that specializes in cleaning vents. He also cautioned me that the heating element was under a 90-day warranty and could burn out again without restoring proper airflow. While he was there I made an appointment with the Birmingham company to come on Saturday, but I also asked if the vent could be rerouted. He provided me with the name and number of a local carpenter. I contacted the carpenter and set up an appointment that same day. He came and determined that he could do the job and gave me a cost estimate. He returned the next day and rerouted the outside vent within two feet of my dryer. I am pleased with the service I received from both companies. Appliance Connection is a local, family owned business that I will use in the future since they also sell appliances. I highly recommend them to anyone that prefers that touch of personal service and demonstrates true pride in their work and products. The technician was polite, friendly, and knew the business well. What his company could not do, he was able to recommend with confidence other resources, providing not only names but contact information. The Appliance Connection is located at 1584 Lurleen B. Wallace Blvd. in Northport, AL. Their phone number is 205-758-5900. Their web site is www.appliance-connection.com.
