HERNANDEZ ROOFING

The work was exceptional, fast and they did a great clean up.

After the numerous storms in 2010 most of our neighborhood had to have roofs replaced. We saw a Hernandez Roofing sign in one neighbors yard and asked about the pricing and impression of the company so chose to call them. We called the owner for an estimate, on the initial visit, she arrived late, never called. She stated that she would have her crew do our roof at the same time as the neighbors as that made good sense. They completed the neighbors roof and 2 months and several phone calls later they finally came back to do ours. We had called the company several times and never got a response. My husband was out of town when the roofers showed up. My neighbor called me at work to mention the color of the roofing tiles. When my husband got home he discovered they had installed the wrong color tile! We had the sample that we had chosen during the initial meeting with the owner but she insisted that the tile they installed was the same, though obviously it was not. When we insisted, she offered to replace the shingles with a different color as she then stated the one we had chosen was no longer manufactured. We stated that was what we wanted - a different colored roof. We called several more times to see when they were coming back, they never returned our calls. Six months later we received a past due notice. We contacted the BBB who worked out a dispute resolution - the owner agreed to drop the price by $1200 and leave the roof. We were not happy about this but were tired of messing around with this company. Shortly after that we received a LIEN notice for non-payment. We paid the disputed amount and they stated they would remove the lien. We made the mistake of assuming the lien was removed and then about a year later I looked at the records and the lien was still there. I called the company to have it removed. The secretary couldn't find the paperwork showing where they had done business with us. I obtained a copy of the cancelled check, copies of all the contracts, BBB dispute, etc, and mailed a certified letter. In the meantime I called several more times, no answer and the answering machine was full so I couldn't leave a message. About a month later the certified letter came back because they never picked it up. I contacted the BBB again to see what our options were - at that point they said our only avenue was to sue for removal of the lien. Finally my husband drove out to Meridianville to the business to place everything in their hands in a last ditch effort to resolve this without having to incur the cost of a lawyer. Finally, in July 2012 we received notice that the lien had been removed. This was the worst experience ever. I don't know how they stay in business.
