It went well. The only problem is that we asked for a path from the parking pad to the back porch. The workers declined to do it. It was a verbal agreement with the owner but was not put in the contract. After the workers declined to make the path the owner and I had agreed upon, I called the owner. Fortunately, the owner remembered the conversation and told the workers to do it. The workers did a fine job, and we are happy with the job. The price was expensive, but it looks nice, and we would hire PennyEarned again.

The work was great. They could not meet original install date due to weather and back log of jobs. Had to call the office several times to see when they might be able to schedule the job, said they would try to work me in before I was to go on vacation, which they did. The only issue I have with this job was that the work crew showed up one afternoon with no advanced notice, lucky I was at home because no one from the office told me they were to be there, no notice at all. The driveway looks great!

It took a few weeks to get to us due to bad weather. Once it cleared they jumped on the job ripping out, grading, and setting up forms one day and the pouring concrete and finishing it on another day. Owner of company was at the job site each day work was being performed. Crew was professional and I could tell they had worked together for a substantial period of time. Concrete has not cured as of this report but I expect few or no problems. Price was excellent for work performed.

Absolutely outstanding work!! They have a dedicted crew that not only performed flawlessly, but take extra care to protect your property and ensure your concerns are addressed. The first contractor I've experienced that consistently returns calls and shows up when promised. They completly transformed our property making it something special. I highly recommend them.

He brought out Lee’s Construction with him and vouged with him and said that Lee’s Construction had licensing. He never provided licensing information to me. They also asked if they could put signs in my yard. I have since then had problems with Lee’s Construction & can’t get in contact with either of them. They have been unresponsive.

Pennyearned has thousands of very happy customers all over the river region. After thirty years you must know that we would never let anything such as this happen. We are having great success in our business. We have unique products for discerning customers and most anyone that has truly dealt with us will tell you that our integrity is extremely important to us. We would never "cut our nose off to spite our face". [member name removed] (and we know that Angies list will remove her name, though it will be listed with her response (?) ) [member name reoved] has never been contracted by Pennyearned, nor have we vouched for any other contractors credibility, nor have we received money from [member name removed]. . We did give her an estimate and she chose another contractor. For some reason, she has had problems with our competition and she is now angry with us. If you are looking for a credible resource, try the better business bureau where we carry an A plus rating or call us. We can give you names of doctors and attorneys, mayors, etc. that we have worked for that will be glade to tell you of their experiences with us. No complaint on Angies list, against us has any validity. One has only to read these ridiculous accounts and the wording and accusations become obviously belligerent. It is frustrating that Angies List would be allowed to provided a forum for people to register "complaints", but with no verification process. Anyone that decides they want to slander or destroy PennyEarned's long years of work in this area is allowed to here. See us at pennyearned.co and check us out on facebook at [hyperlink removed] You will see progress pictures of the many projects we have working and photos of hundreds of projects we have recently completed.

Seemed like a nice guy and said he would do a good job. I think he has a good crew of guys that work hard. Only issue I had was he said he was going to haul debris away, but ended up telling me it was my responsibility and the city would pick it up. The city said they saw the contractor sign in the yard and the contractor was responsible. Well, I ended up having to sort it out with the city. Felt a bit uncomfortable with the situation and hope he treats over customers better. Update: The old shed was never put on the street and still remains in my yard - because it wasn't part of the agreement. However the 10-12 feet high of debris that did go to the street was a results of clearing the area for the fence and leveling backyard. Again, uncomfortable situation and hope other customers can learn from my experience.
Description of Work: Leveled back yard, drilled 8-10 3ft holes on the yard for drainage. and built 10ft cedar fence.

Material left at street was part of an old shed and not in contract and customer did not pay us for it. He asked our crew to help move it to the front so it could be hauled away and when the city refused the customer expected us to do it. We gave him a price, but he decided to deal with the city.

were there to seal the work . Both my son and I shared our concern with Latham. He became very combative. He would not admit the job was not done correctly. The only way I could have it fixed was that a payed him more money to correct his error. I have no idea how this man stays in business. He is a bully . At the very beginning I had mixed feelings about hiring him. I wish I never did.
Description of Work: First may I say one should avoid this company at all cost. I had my old driveway removed and a new one poured. Also they resurfaced my parking pad, and that's when the problem began. The bottom line is latham told me to trust him and I did. When I realized that the center stamped design was off center and and not straight I call Latham. He did not return my call. The next morning he and his crew

More than thirty years in business and thousands of jobs all over the "River Region". A happy customer goes about their life and an unhappy customer tells everyone. If there was any way to avoid these conflicts WE WOULD. [member name removed] is a widowed woman who came to us saying we were highly recommended by several friends of hers. She was always unsure of what exactly she wanted to and I told her she needed to trust us or find someone else that she did trust. We are only "bullies" because we refused to change her existing situation at ou cost. We replaced an entire 5000 square foot driveway. We put stamped boarders along the driveway and capped the existing courtyard(2000 additional squasre feet) with stamped concrete for which we did NOT charge [member name removed]. The pre existing joints were and STILL ARE crooked. It was going to cost her more for us to cut them out and replace them. This was the original agreement and [member name removed] became concerned after the fact. The job was reinforced with fiber and wire and frequent joints to allow the large expanse of concrete to move with the seasonal changes. While we regreat [member name removed] does not appreciate out effort, we are hugely proud of this beautiful job and it can be found displayed in our facebook page under [member name removed]. We sincerely hope you will understand that we do have compassion for [member name removed] situation, but also that we gave everything we could. Her job was done with great care for quality and beauty. Pouring concrete over her existing joints would have caused the concrete to break at the joint and it would have shortened the life of the concrete. It was [member name removed] decision not to remove the existing, thereby saving money and it was known befor any contractual agreement was reached. It was after the job was completed as planned that her complaint arose.

Avoid this company! Initial work appeared fine, with the exception that not enough concrete was ordered to complete the pool floor in one pouring. The second pouring was not joined to the first with re-bar (despite the fact Tom Latham calls his company "Concrete Technologies"), so when the first heavy rain came, the two sections separated causing a ridge in the pool bottom and allowing water to "float" the liner and detach it from the wall. PennyEarned owner Latham assured me he would "stand behind my work." A year later, he refuses to return my phone calls, telling his daughter/receptionist he has no reason to talk to me. I hired a legitimate pool contractor to make temporary repairs so I could at least get some use from the pool. Latham was going to come back and replace my fence. Thank God I learned what a s***** ball he is before he got any more of my money! Ironically, while seeking bids on the fence work, I described my experience to a contractor without mentioning any names. He replied, "Sounds like you've been working with PennyEarned." I will now be searching Angie's List for a good lawyer.

With more than 30 years in business and thousands of happy customers in the "River Region" it is unfortunate that Mr. [removed member name] would suggest that we have been anything but exemplory. He has told many people about the quality of our work. On the 10th of May 2013 we had an appointment to meet at his house to discuss the contrustion of a new fence on his property. He was not there and did not return our calls until more than a month. Two days after that call he called and threatened our office workers. We reconstructed his pool and poured a beautiful pool deck that is pictured on our facebook page more than a year ago. It is gorgeous. In the extreme rainy weather this spring, his liner floated. Unfortunate, but this is an act of nature and PennyEarned had no contribution to this situation.

I had asked them to let me know in advance as to when they were starting so I could clear the patio. However, there had been a delay in starting and when I called them to determine when they would start they were coming that same day so I did not have much notice to clear the patio, The first afternoon they broke up the concrete. They did not come back the second day but finished on the third day. They did a very good job. The workers worked hard. A year later the patio had developed cracks and there was a place that did not drain well. I called the business to see what could be done to fix the cracks. I was not sure they would do the work but maybe they could recommend someone. After the first call, the owner came by and left his card since I was not home. He did not call to see if I was home. When I got home I called the office to let them know I was home in the event he could come back. He did not. I called several times with no response to my calls. Therefore, I looked for another contractor to fix the problems.

Due to high demand for their work, it took a while to get our job scheduled, but it was worth the wait. They transformed our plain & ugly concrete patio to a beautiful one looking like natural stone! We have received numerous compliments from friends who have seen it. It took only two days to remove the old concrete, form, pour and "stamp" the new patio. The workers were very industrious and courteous. The new concrete appears to be very durable, with a sealant that both protects and gives visual depth to the color and pattern. We are very pleased with our new patio and are confident we will get many years of use from it.
