Once they got here, and saw that it had to go upstairs, they made us waive any damage that they would cause to the house in getting it up the stairs. They didn't damage the house luckily but they didn't have the equipment necessary to get the washer and dryer upstairs. They told us before they moved it that they would not be responsible for any damage. We had to say that we were okay with them potentially damaging the stairs. I think if you are going to undertake to deliver something for somebody and charge for it, then you should be willing to take up any damage that you cause. Their price was far below everybody else.
Description of Work: We just bought a washer and a dryer from Lowe's. They also delivered and installed it

Ordered blind in April. Deposit of $35 as fee for measuring window/ deposit for shade. People came out to measure window and said order would be delivered in 2-4 weeks. In 2 weeks same work people were back to install the blind but stated that they thought it had been delivered to our home. When we informed them it had not they said they would be back when blind was delivered. After an additional week and still no delivery, I went in person to Lowes to ask what had happened to shade. I was told that it hadn't been ordered because we had not paid the full amount. My wife wasn't told she would have to return to the store to pay the remaining amt. She had assumed she would pay on delivery. The store cancelled the order never telling us, nor phoning nor emailing to inform us. In this age of "connectivity" Lowes seems to be lacking. I was informed by the "sales associate" that we probably misunderstood. When asked if she thought a phone call or email would have been reasonable she hid behind the hackneyed excuse of "well it's Lowes policy". Asked if she thought there might be a communication breakdown she again used the fall back of store policy. After failing to have anyone, take any responsibility and get this straightened out, I went ahead and ordered the shade paying for it then and there. I know, you can't believe it! Well the blind came about 3 weeks later to our house. I informed customer service of that fact and they said it would be taken care of. One week later it hadn't been taken care of. Back to Lowes to inform them that I needed for them to send out the people to install the blind. The woman at customer service took my name number and problem wrote it down and said I would hear from them in 48 hours. In 72 hours back to the store again fuming. I talked to 3 people each one as befuddled as the next. Finally talked to the assistant manager and had to reexplain the problem to him. English is my native tongue. He said he would get on it. I gave him two numbers to contact me and circled the one that he could get me at. Approximately 2 weeks later my wife was contacted saying the installation would be done. She was told that they had tried the phone number -----not numbers I had given them. By this time it was a big "WHATEVER". So 2+ months later we had our blind installed. As a post script to this story I want to mention that in early spring I had an order of pine straw and some additional hardware etc for delivery on a Tuesday and waited home for it. I'm a glutton for punishment! Of course the shipment didn't arrive and when I called customer service they said the order "for some reason" had not been loaded. Does Lowes have something personal against me? I had paid for this one so that couldn't be it. They did get back to me and told me they would get the order out ASAP and early Thurs. early p.m. it arrived. Only 1 1/2 days late. And one more post post script----can you take it? Approximately 11 years ago when I moved in the order the same blind for the same bedroom the blind came in, but due to miscommunications , according to Lowes, and "unreliable contractors" it took around 2 months to finally have this blind installed. I don't know about others, but as far as this mooch is concerned I am done with Lowes

It was discounted from $330 down to $260. It was a good deal. I will definitely continue to use them. I am retired military and they give retired military a 10 percent discount.
