My ac system failed, and I was in disparate need of a new system without breaking the bank. The good people at Dixie Electric, Plumbing, and Air were amazing! Not only did I get a great price, but the technicians were able to install my new system in two days. The were on time and very professional. You will not go wrong with these guys.

Tony came (3/3/22). As always he did a great job. The washing machine flooded in the morning and Tony came that afternoon. Checked all the pipes and washing machine. Took care of the issue and made sure to clean up after. Tony is very professional and explains the problem and solution in a way the lay person can understand. He is also a great guy. Very pleasant and fun to talk too. Dixie is not the cheapest in town, however you get what you pay for. We've been care-plan members for several years and it has paid off bigtime!! I highly recommend Tony and Dixie.

Nothing out of the ordinary, but electrician did not even go into the attic and left a mess in the attic. Although I supplied the part, the charge for labor was $464.75. Since there were no unexpected issues, in my opinion the price was ridiculous.

I had 2 new ceiling fans, relocated another one to a new location. Install a new chandelier, Christie the dispatcher called to let me know that Russell the service tech is on his way. Russell arrived at a good time, I showed him what was needed, he looked it over and fave me a great price, he proceed to work. he got it done in a great amount of time. Very professional, double checking to make sure I was getting what I wanted. Job finished and looks "FANTASTIC". I will use this company and recommend them to people who seek their services. Thanks Russell and Christie for a job well done.

DIXIE ELECTRIC was prompt and professional in giving us an estimate to solve some electrical problems and upgrade electrical systems in an older home. We had used them in the past and had been pleased with their work. Our project included upgrading electrical outlets to three pronged in the non-renovated part of the home, solving a wiring problem that led to circuits tripping, wand installing light fixtures and a sealing fan. We got more than 4 estimates and DIXIE was far higher than all the rest. Ultimately we hired STAR ELECTRIC (starelectric@Hotmail.com 334-322-8539). If STAR ELECTRIC would have been unable to work us in, we would have hired (JC ELECTRIC 334 517 6120)

From start to finish, a very professional job. Contacted Dixie regarding my broken attic fan and they offered to send a technician the following morning. Tech contacted me first thing that day and said he had another job ahead of mine and wasn't sure if he'd make it to my house before it got too hot to work in the attic. He called back a few hours later and apologized that it had taken so long, but he would have to reschedule for the next day. Main office calIed to confirm appt for the next day. Tech showed up first thing the next day and explained what he was going to do and said he'd give me an estimate before any work was completed. He was extremely polite and very professional. He even asked if we had any coupons, which we did! The cost was a little more than I expected, but i'm sure it was done right. You can't put a price on peace of mind. Right?

Service techs are clearly trained on the art of sales and omission. There were several slight of hand moves in the process that made my gut suggest I should go someplace else. For example, showing me a price to replace a hot water heater and omitting that the price does not include the ancillary charges. Or as another example indicating that they would replace the hot water heater with the same size unit and then quoting me a smaller unit. I suspect techs receive commission and are therefore willing to push the boundaries of morally acceptable sales behavior. Think the classic image of a used car salesman. I'd suggest avoiding this company if you are a generally trusting person and prefer to avoid the confrontation that arises in having to pay attention to every move your "opponent" makes. I'd prefer to feel like my contractors are advocates for me and not trying to take advantage of me.

From the initial call, I was greeted by friendly, knowledgable people. This company is everything they claim to be in their online ads. Professional young man in uniform showed up promptly and got right to work. Each time he entered the home, he put on shoe protectors so as not to track anything into our home. He had to go on the roof and snake about 60 feet to get to the clog. Hard worker. Pricing was upfront. Now hidden costs. I will certainly use them again.

There were both plumbing and electrical services scheduled and they were able to come the same day which was helpful as I needed to take off work for the repairs. Instead of fixing the 13 year old toilet (which was installed incorrectly by the builder) we replaced both bathroom toilets with newer and more efficient ones. Excellent service and excellent job on the plumbing and theywere very professional and nice. Electrician removed a single kitchen light and replaced with 4 can lights. Again very professional and nice, but the cost for the amount of work required was very high on the electrical. Plugs and wiring were all there to tap into with nothing new to run. Other than the price on the electrical work, the staff was on time, professional, pleasant, cleaned up after themselves, and completed the work in a very efficient and timely manner. I would use them again but will be more selective on what they do based upon pricing. Simple jobs maybe shp around for pricing, and for complex things definitely would rely on them again !
Description of Work: I don't have the exact date of service at this time, but was fall of 2014. There were electrical and plumbing sevices on the same day. I replaced two bathroom toilets and replaced a single fluorescent kitchen light with 4 can lights.

If anything that they do breaks they will replace it for you without charge; that's is why we went with this expensive $119 contract in case one of these $600 fans break. They do plumbing too but we haven't need it. This man, Tony Brooks is marvelous. He is very professional and courteous. He is an electrician, the house is 15 years old and he has some concerns to make sure that the wiring are still okay. He actually did find that our smoke detector was not current. I just thought that was really nice of him. It added to the bill but it added even more to our safety. I will call these people again. I have used them in the past and I will continue to use them.
Description of Work: We purchased a contract from them too. We needed attic ventilation fans replaced which is $600 per fan, we needed two then and they break that once a year. They have a program if you buy like the extended standard and they bill you monthly like $9 a month. You don't pay it all at once. They replaced the smoke alarm for me too. There was a problem outside with one of the outlets; he actually went through the house to replace the electrical outlet outside which was not working. He also replaced both attic ventilation fan.

Russell and Austin from Dixie Electric did a good job on this repair. Polite, courteous, and professional. Explained all the details of what they were going to do, and then did it. Luckily the fascia board was not so damaged as to need replacing. The fix was a more serious anchoring of the wire/pull knob onto the fascia board, and to move it far enough away from the roof to pass city inspection. The only minor glitch was that the crew arrived about one hour later then scheduled, and the city inspector took all afternoon to arrive. FHI: Dixie Electric worked worked with Alabama Power to get the electricity turned off/on. Alabama Power did a good job too.
Description of Work: The pull knob, where the main electric wire comes in off the street and connects to the house, was not adequately anchored to the house and was pulling the fascia board from the roof. This connection was anchored more securely.

They were very professional and polite. They were very clean, making sure that they wore booties so as not to dirty the floor. They were very informative in terms of what they were doing. They stayed until the job got done and worked hard. It was a big job on my 3500 square foot house but I was very pleased. They are very knowledgable about electrical things. You feel like you are truly with professionals. I would highly recommend them. If you get their maintenance agreement, they take 10% off the cost. We saved $350 on that job which more than 3x payed the cost of the maintenance agreement. If you have a big job to do you can actually save money on the agreement.

They checked all the wall sockets and found two of the outlets had loose wires and were arcing and burned out. They replaced two of the outlets in the living room. No, they found the problem in the other wall sockets and the circuit was complete. Everything has worked fine since and the garage heater on the enclosed patio is awesome. They didn't have enough line on the truck to run the 240 line. They had to call-in to have someone in another truck/van to finish the job. But given the amount of time they were here on-site I would list the price as fair given it was two employees. They quoted a price for the work of troubleshooting the wall sockets and had me sign an agreement beforehand. Not knowing what the problem was because it could have been a burned out line and they would have to tear up so walls to get to it. If they had to do that then the price would have been more reasonable. But I understand their reasoning and business overhead so I'm not going to grumble too much. They were courteous and professional. If they had enough line on their truck I would have given them an A rating on professionalism.
Description of Work: They ran a 240 line for a garage heater and installed a quad 30 amp circuit breaker on the main junction box. They trouble shot the problem of why none of the wall sockets in the living room worked.

Very polite service, both on the phone and in person. They would not estimate the cost to replace the breaker box over the phone. This seems acceptable, because it could be rather dependent on the current box and its condition, though they arrived for service with a book dictating very rounded prices for exactly what I was requesting. I asked for a quote to either move the breaker box indoors or to leave it outside and replace it with a newer model, I was told that it would cost $4500 dollars to replace the box and leave it outdoors. They did not provide a quote for moving it indoors due to fire codes being restrictive. Nothing was out of the ordinary (aside from one breaker which was failing that I planned to replace) with the current system and the change was merely a quality of life preference. Since i had already spent 70 dollars just to have them show up, I asked how much it would cost for them to replace the burnt out breaker. They returned to their price book and came back with a $125 cost (the breaker costs about $15 at Lowe's) over the already charged $70 service fee. I decided to cut my losses at that point and sent them on their way. Very professional and courteous, I presume at least in part because they rob their customers blind with service costs.

They were very professional and quick. They let us know how much an additional service would cost when offering instead of just doing something and then charging us automatically. We turned down allowing them to prep and install our new oven because we knew how but we were glad they offered and told us how much it would additionally cost up front.
