I called ADT and got a price for their service and they had me pay a installation fee. I scheduled installation for the following monday. On monday, the installer showed up over 2 hours early, which was a inconvenience for me. After he was over half way through the installation, he then said he needed to go over the bill with me. He said I would have to pay $1600 for today's installation. I explained to him the rep on the following Friday never said anything about extra payments on monday. After discussing this, he brought it down to $1200. I reluctantly paid him. After discussing this with a few friends, I found many of them had the same system put in at no extra charge. I immediately called ADT and told them to come remove their system and I stopped payment on the $1200 check. They then agreed to leave the system in at no extra charge. The only charge was the $100 installation fee and the monthly service. Make sure you ask up front about any extra charges.
