Smithco is a remodeling business run by Paul Smith.. I found Paul when I ask my kitchen designer who is the contractor she would recommend...she said with out hesitation...Paul Smith..I too am a Smith but had never met Paul before this job. Paul came too our home and looked at what we wanted done and then within about a day and a half gave us a quote. The original quote was actually about $1500 less but mainly the extensive electrical ran it up some....for instance the under cabinet led lighting system wasn't in original quote plus a few other things..We were actually going to have to make two different one week trips during the remodeling but Paul was able to work around our schedule ...Paul, himself was extensively involved in the physical job it's self and had two very good young men, Josh and Steve, working with him. I believe these guys have been with Paul quite a while....they were definantly experienced. They started on a Monday morning and I was shocked at what had been accomplished in three days...actually by about mid day Thursday the kitchen was ready for cabinet installation....this included the flooring being down... Paul had subcontractors that he seemed to have a pretty close relationship with for the Electrical, plumbing and sheet rock finishing...I worked thru Coast Kitchen/bath design to design and provide the kitchen cabinets and also Paul recommended the back splash installer who did a good job. I was impressed with how Paul ran things....kept things very cleaned up throughout the whole process. Was very helpful in my decision making on various things....he helped me install my built in microwave which actually saved me $120. He had huge plastic sheeting draped during the job to try and protect the cleanliness of the house....the house certainly still got dusty but not because Paul didn't try. Paul's men gladly moved my existing refrigerator for me. His men and the subs he used were all clean looking guys ....over all, Paul and all were pleasant to work with. Now for the serious stuff.....I had actually got another bid from a reputable local company.....the bid was a little over twice Paul's bid for the same thing.......that doesn't mean Paul left a lot of money on the table because if the overall cost of the project had been any higher than it was.....I likely wouldn't have done it. A couple of other things...they did a nice job of tieing in my outside siding where the back door was removed. The back door that they actually replaced operates very well I actually did all the painting I told Paul at beginning that I wouldn't nickel and dime him and I was sure he would be fair to me...and that's exactly how it went.
