Pro 1 Painters

The cabinets came out as promised. The Pro1 team did a great job prepping the areas and they had great attention to detail. We have used Pro1 for several projects and they have always done a great job. Professional, friendly and ON TIME too! Easy to work with.

Pro 1 painters was very reasonable, workers were professional and polite and worked quickly with no interruptions. Painted our foyer, over our staircase and also our living room all of which have 20 foot plus vaulted ceilings. End product was exceptional and we plan to use them again for our kitchen project

I contracted this company after Ross gave an estimate. There were areas pointed out to Ross that needed to be repaired and replaced. Instead of replacing cracks in the wood and rotted trim, these areas were filled over with elastomer and in some cases to even touched, just painted over. All of these areas were only accessible by ladder or lift ( which they rented). Less than 6months later we saw a leak in our inside wall adjacent to the areas identified by Ross in the initial walk around (trim and siding on the chimney). When I called their office, I was told that was a roof problem not a paint problem. After a long conversation with “ Dana” who said she was the owner, she dispatched Ross to check it out. When Ross assessed the situation (5/17/21) he agreed the patchwork repair was not to their standards and would be repaired, wood replaced and painted. After some 4 weeks after his visit and absolutely no communication, I called the office to inquire. Tammy the receptionist said she would contact Ross. She called me back and said she scheduled their “ team” to evaluate, On 7/28/21 Ross and his Father Rene ( apparently the owner) walked around with me and confirmed the shoddy work done and the areas should be repaired and wood replaced. I offered to pay for the materials but Rene stated “ you won’t have to pay for anything” and that he would have to rent a lift and get his crew to do the work. There was NO conversation about me hiring a contractor to do the wood replacement, despite his claim in his recent email ( 9/8/21 nearly 10 weeks after their visit) Rene now claims in reviewing our agreement, these repairs are not covered and that he agreed to repaint the areas after the repairs were done. This is contrary to what both he and his son stated. As I told him in my reply to his email, all I wanted was for them to stand by their work. I even told them I wanted them to paint our interior but these repairs would need to be done. Apparently losing a customer and future revenue from painting my interior, Rene chose not to stand up and protect the integrity of his business.

Excellent service and team. Blake, Ryan and D were exceptional!! Highly recommend. Felt like they were family after 4 days with them.

This is the second time Brittany and her crew have worked for us. Absolutely professional job both times. For this job, they painted three exterior brick walls enclosing our screened porch. The paint coverage was excellent, going from dark red brick to white really brightened this outdoor area. We love the change! The crew showed up on time, cleaned up each day, finished on time, and we are extremely happy with the result. Would definitely use them again for all our painting needs.

We had a really good experience with this company. They fit us into their schedule when the painter we had hired canceled on us at the last minute. We were extremely grateful for this as we were moving in the next week and wanted to get the painting done before moving. Estimator came out the same day (Friday) and gave us a price. They started the following Monday and three painters worked for 7 full days. They were always on time and they worked hard all day. And they finished on time, as promised, although it was a big job (3100 sf house) and two rooms required a third coat to hid the previous wall color. They were very responsive to any requests and concerns we had and kept us updated as to what they would be working on each day. Everything was covered properly and drapery rod brackets, faceplates, etc removed. The results were beautiful. It was a high quality job from start to finish. We are planning on getting them back in the future to do some cabinets.

With a painter, obviously the quality of the work is of great importance. Preparation and attention to detail can make or break a job. Through the years though, I have found that when dealing with contractors, character and integrity are paramount. Projects seldom, if ever, are completed without some issues and the quality of the man or woman at the top is what is most important. By and large my home was done beautifully with wonderful care and attention to detail. Due to personal health issues however, it was fully seven months after my job was finished before I was able to call and express concern over some areas. Without hesitation an on site inspection was scheduled. The inspection was completed and the affected areas were MORE than satisfactorily taken care of. No recriminations, no whining, no attempts to upsell- quite the contrary. Extremely pleasant and appropriately apologetic for work improperly performed, all handled professionally. Excellent work! Kind, courteous, professional office staff! Kind, courteous, professional, hard-working, well trained, experienced field personnel and honor, right character and integrity from the top that flows down. I cannot recommend Pro 1 Painters more highly.

Purchased a new home that needed painting from DIY pain jobs and factory one color entire house deal. Searched for a paint company here in Mobile, got a few bids and HAPPY I went with Pro 1! From the start Kevin was detailed and gave pretty honest advisements.Kevin responds promptly for estimate concerns and any painting questions. No pressure, just facts and would be thankful if you chose their services. We are a military family and didn't want to feel pressured. Thats how Kevin approached my estimate. Melanie got me booked, color at Sherwin went great, Katie responded promptly with a financial question, and painters rocked the job! These painters, Don, Chris and the gentleman with the red beard (forgive me, I forgot his name) work SOO hard! They are PRECISE and go out of their way to be sure the job looks professional. The painters made sure they left it looking like new walls and ceilings. The value of my home increased and the way my paint job is, it TOTALLY made the home look custom. Prices are reasonable for the EXPERTISE they provide. Hands down, so far so good. I have 4 more rooms to complete, these painters KNOW what they are doing. Don't shortchange yourself by hiring random people, stick to professional painters Pro 1 provides. The painters even have pleasant attitudes and I feel comfortable with them in my home, which says enough on its on. So heres to finishing my entire home. Thanks Pro 1! (P.S. On my first encounter estimate, I only had 3 rooms, but since it all went so well, I'm having them do my ENTIRE home. That says a lot.)

From my initial email to the follow up call from prol to see how things had gone, I could not have been more pleased very timely, thorough, courteous, skilled, and professional.

Badly - PRO ONE PAINTERS - I spent over 10K with this company & still have not received all the services promised in the contract. 1 yr later & I still have light fixtures, things taped up from when they 1st painted/1 yr ago. Despite contacting them, I am now simply being ignored. It has been 1 yr now. From the beginning, house was not done on time for me to move in, pricing was changed/added too in the middle of the process - aprox 1500.00. All the time being assured everything would be done on time & all issues addressed. When I realized they were not going to be done, the movers coming in 3 days, I called the office, they did nothing. the owner ignored my calls. I offered the painters more to at least finish the basics. Even the office said this job was not set up correctly from the beginning, always confused when I would call. They were referred to me by Re Max Realtor, even they have contacted them on my behalf. Nothing. These companies will not stop doing this because it seems they can get away with it? We need to let people know when this happens to save their next victim.

Was originally quoted a certain price to remove/strip wallpaper, paint baseboards and trim in both bathrooms, paint front exterior door, and door trim and paint interior kitchen door. Was told by salesperson that the wallpaper might be difficult to remove and if so would have to charge al little more. I agreed to this and they came promptly on the start day. The wallpaper was more difficult to remove than they had anticipated but the worker apologized to me because they "expert wallpaper remover employee" was involved on another job and if he could be here there would not be any problem at all. The "expert" showed up the next day and removed the remaining wallpaper in the 1st bathroom and the entire 2nd bathroom in 1/2 day with no problems at all. When the boss showed up he wanted to charge us double the amount of the original quote which we thought was really too much. After much discussion an amount was negotiated which we felt was still too high. To this day the baseboards and trim in the bathrooms are still not painted nor is the trim around the front door. I am really disappointed on the way that the quote and the final cost was handled because the work that they did was absolutely great. I wish that I could hire them for the rest of my house but I am reluctant to do so.

Excellent. I couldn't ask for more from a contractor. I first contacted Pro 1 Painters via Angie's List the middle of October 2015. Rene Pollet was onsite within a couple of days to walk down the job and provided my estimate on the spot. Due to the fact I needed to replace the roof first, it was the middle of January before I got back with Pro 1. Rene came back out to walk the job down again and even though there were a couple of additional items I needed on the exterior, he stuck with the same price he had given me previously. We were thinking of making a dramatic change to the exterior colors of the home and Rene could tell we were a bit indecisive with the colors so he offered the assistance of Pro 1's Color Specialist, Laurie Simpson. Laurie came out and worked with my wife to select the colors for both the exterior of the home and the interior. We were particularly thankful for her recommendation to use the Harmony product for the interior painting which drastically cut down on the heavy paint fumes that would have otherwise been inside the house. She was also of great assistance in reinforcing my wife's choice of colors and the final product looks great. Billy Jackson ran the day-to-day project for Pro 1 Painters. Billy and his entire crew were very professional and the quality of work was excellent. I appreciated the fact that the job site was cleaned up every afternoon before they left for the day and I trusted they were doing quality work using quality products. In summary, Rene and the entire Pro 1 Painter staff offered an excellent customer experience from the first contact I made through Angie's List to clean up on the final day. Pro 1 will definitely be on my bid list for future projects.

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WE HAVE USED PRO 1. RENE IS VERY PROFESSIONAL, HIS GROUP OF WORKERS ARE PLEASANT AND DO A GREAT JOB. THE JOB TOOK A MONTH RATHER THAN THE QUOTED 2 WEEKS, BUT IT WAS A BIG JOB AND THERE WERE DELAYS ON SUPPLIES ARRIVING. *WHEN RENE SAYS "EVERYTHING YOU SEE WILL BE PAINTED" I WOULD ADVISE CLARIFICATION.

The workers were unreliable. There were days in the middle of the project that they didn't show up. They were friendly when there but seemed unable to stay on task until completion. The was no good excuse for every delay or no show. They announced they would be finished on a particular day. That day only one of the crew showed up and little was done. After they said they were done, twice had to be given long list of items not completed and clean up that was skipped. The contract stated they would clean up at the end of each day. This did not happen. They left paint spills, paint mishaps, caulk on floors & in carpet, excessive dust from sanding, dirty footprints on carpets, etc. on the last day, the job foreman showed up alone and spent 8+ hours cleaning up behind the crew. This was the only day it felt as if complaints were taken seriously.

I had a very similar experience that the reviewer on September 15th had with no follow up. On August 20 I requested a quote for exterior painting of my home. We agreed on a home visit for September 11th. Rene came by on September 11th to view the exterior of my home. The following day I attempted to contact Rene via phone and email to ask about my quote. No reply. The following Tuesday I made an Angies List messege asking about the quote. Later that day Katie replied Rene was working on the quote and I should get it soon. On September 17th I left another Angies List messege asking about my quote. No reply. Now it's a full week after Rene visited my home and I'm getting more from the crickets outside my home than I am from Pro-1 Painters. I read all the reviews for Pro-1 and it seems if you are doing a small interior job, the $199 special, they are all over it. When you throw in a big job like whole home exterior paint they must have great difficulty adding up the numbers. It's a sad day when I have to beg for a quote to give someone business. This paint job is in the $8,000 - 12,000 range (according to the painters that actually did their job and provided me a quote). It's obvious Pro-1 is too overwhelmed with their small jobs to take up a big project. If you have a small paint job inside your house give Pro-1 a call. If you have a large exterior job don't waste your valuable time with them.
