Charleston Lighting

He had one for merely two months. Owed my place of business $1,700.00. We invoiced him and called him in August and September of 2011. He refused to pay us, stating we didn't ship some of his items. I filed a court case several months later. I will never see my money. I believe this gentleman planned on committing fraud by opening up a house account and deliberately planned on not paying his bill. This is the lowest thing a person or place of business can do to another place of business. I will probably never see any money. I won the court case so-to-speak; however, the court wanted me to find out which bank he uses so that they could proceed with garnishments. I did contact a couple of banks; however, do you really think a bank is going to divulge that their customer has an account with them, so that the bank can go through the trouble of garnishing their account. Then, the customer would probably close the account to avoid garnishment. The court system is not a system. It is a failure. Oh, by the way, Angie's List, you may check out Charleston Lighting's Facebook Page. Their is a complaint right on their face book page from a very dissatisfied customer who was threatened at this place of business. I rest my case. This place should not have been in business when they were. I don't know if they are still open to this day, and I DON'T CARE. Don't use this business, if it is still open.

Although the price was VERY high, I bought these outdoor gas lights from Charleston Lighting. I wanted something special for the front of our home and these hand made, copper fixtures were absolutely beautiful so I paid up. However, once installed I began to have problems with the "tempered" glass cracking and breaking. The first two panels that broke I replaced myself by buying glass locally. However, as this problem continued, I called Charleston Lighting and spoke to James Dennis and explained my problem. Mr. Dennis asked for pictures which I provided. He then asked for a sketch of one of the panels which I sent to him. He appologised profusely and said he would have new glass cut (this time it would be "super strong, tempered glass") and would have it sent to me. That was in November of 2013. Since then I have called time and time again. A few times I was able to get Mr. Dennis on the phone and he would always promise. Once he said he would be coming to Atlanta and would hand deliver them! Another time he said they were sitting on his desk and he would express mail them to me the following day. Eventually, he stopped accepting my calls. I tried to contact him by email and by US Post with absolutely no response. I would NOT recommend this company...in fact, I would avoid it at all cost! Although you will find them friendly at first contact, you will regret your purchase over the long term. If you are shopping for gas lights, pass over Charleston lighting and look elsewhere!
