My one-story detached carport has 1/2 inch decking exposed on the underside and I do not want the roofing nails to show through the decking. I told him I did not know what size roofing nails should be used to prevent that. He said he would get up on the roof and pull a couple of nails and find out, which he did. I did not ask him to do this. He then said he wanted to keep the nails for reference (?). I said I wanted them back because I was getting other estimates. His attitude immediately changed. He gave me back the nails and told me rudely that he was not interested in the job. I asked him why. All he said was he was about to give me a price but now he was not interested. He said he pulled the nails for his own benefit. Then he packed up his ladder and left. After thinking about it I can only guess he was about to give me a very high price. But no responsible person who is about to spend in the neighborhood of $3,000 for a new roof would not get estimates. After all, that is one of the main reasons I am an Angie's List member and have been for years. I don't know how this guy stays in business treating people this way. He must just be looking for people that don't want to take the time to get estimates. I will be sure to tell anyone who asks about roofing contractors to avoid Caine Roofing. As a matter of fact a co-worker already asked me to let him know what I found out when getting my estimates. I will be sure to tell him about Caine. Also, I had to call twice before my call was returned. He did show up on time.

Badly. The charge was $650 for a repair that ended up taking no more than 90 minutes. This happened while I was away from the house for about 90 minutes that day, despite my request for an appointment so I could be present. The roof was still leaking in the next storm. I spoke with Mrs Caine, but Mr Caine did not return my call as rpromised. The house was on the market to sell, so the repair was more crucial than usual. We never did hear back from Mr Caine.

Summary as follows: 1. Good communication to keep me informed of start date. 2. Arrived on day promised. 3. Took 3.5 days to remove old roof and re-shingle with 30 yr shingles. 4. I observed most of the time and owner (Steve) was lead worker and he took much pride in his work. 5. Job was done very well with great care. 6. Very good clean-up everyday plus a final thorough clean-up. 7. Steve always made sure I was pleased with his work and did lots of little things to make the job even better. 8. Good crew working with him. 9. Overall - very pleased and would recommend him without 2nd thought.

I was very pleased in the work performed. Steve was prompt and performed the work according to the estimate. He completed the job in one day and when I came home that evening there was absolutely no debris left in the yard or the driveway....I took my magnet and drug the whole driveway and did not find a single nail. I would definitely recommend Caine Roofing!!!

I called the company on a Saturday evening because water was dripping down through the dining room ceiling. I was told someone would come to the house the next day. On Sunday morning, Mr. Caine arrived and inspected the roof during a heavy rain. He also inspected the attic and protected the area above the dining room to prevent further damage until he could return to complete the repair after the rain stopped and the roof dried out. Four days later he arrived and sealed the leak. He also sealed two or three other areas that he thought needed reinforcing. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and informative. It has not rained again since the repair was completed so that will be the test of his workmanship. However, if a problem still exists, I believe he will see that it is fixed. He takes pride in his work.
