Johnny Myers of Southern Tree Surgeons was extremely professional and courteous! We had him remove a dead tree and grind the stump/roots. He removed all the debris completely and looked great! Perfect job and I highly recommend his service.

Very professional, large crew with specific jobs. I was very pleased with the results. My son has also used them to remove large trees close to his house and recommended them to me.

Although I felt the price was overcharged, after seeing the results I have altered my view (so has my husband who was very concerned about the price). Not only has Mr. Myers been doing this for over 20 years, he has the knowledge and equipment he needs to do a professional job - which he did.

We lost a very large Bradford Pear tree in a recent storm. The tree was about 20-25 feet tall. Half of it broke off 2 feet above the ground, leaving half of the tree still standing. We had another Bradford Pear the same size overlooking our driveway where we park our cars that was still standing despite the storm. We called Southern Tree Surgeons and spoke with Johnny Myers. We requested an estimate for removing the damaged tree and cutting down the other tree to prevent potential future damage to our house and cars should that tree also break in a storm. He quoted us a price ($450.00 ) we felt was very good to remove both trees, grind the stumps below ground and then level the area so the lawn looked smooth. I was very surprised at how labor intensive this job turned out to be. Southern Tree Surgeons did the job in several stages; sending people over to cut the tree down and stack everything very neatly up near the road. They then brought a crew over on a huge truck with a special "claw" to pick up all the tree branches, tree trunks, and debris and haul it off. Another crew came over with a grinder to grind the stumps and surface roots, and then later another crew came to clean the debris, fill in the holes and rake the area so it was smooth and neat. The company also took great care not to damage vehicles with the grinder. I had one of the men ask me if I could move our car so there would be no possibility of damage from the grinder kicking up stuff and hitting the car. When the entire job was all done, we didn't so much as have a leaf left on the lawn, it was spotless. We spoke with Mr Myers the day the crews came over to grind the stumps and surface roots.. He did say he had not realized how extensive the roots were on the surface of the ground when it came to grinding them down, but he would honor the original price he had given us. I can't tell you how impressed I was at the quality of the work that was done. If it weren't for the grass-less area left by the trees (due to how much shade they threw on the lawn, grass didn't grow under the trees or between them) you would never be able to tell there had been trees there. The quality of the work was outstanding. Mr Meyers was very pleasant to deal with and stuck to the price he quoted even when the job turned out to be larger than he originally thought. We did wind up paying him an additional sum as we thought it was the right thing to do and the quality of the work was so outstanding. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone and if we need more tree work done this is the company I will be using!

I was having an addition to my home built and the tree removal and excavation work had to be done first. The crew came in and finished in three days! While part of the crew cut, another guy did the stump grinding. Some of the trees were huge and close to the house. But not a limb nor trunk fell where it wasn't supposed to. They even took down/replaced part of the fence in order to get into the back yard with the backhoe, and repaired a corner of the driveway the dump truck with the red clay broke off. We knew going in, that the weight of the truck might damage the driveway but they were so careful that only a small piece of the edge broke off. They got the job done in record time for an excellent price. We had two other estimates and the lowest was $5,000. Johnny Meyers and his crew were curteous and friendly and work well with my contractor and me. They picked and raked up all the debris and hauled it away. Two of our neighbors were so impressed with watching Southern Tree Surgeons' work that they hired them on the spot.
