Justin, the owner, was a pleasure to work with. I put online that we needed our roof replaced, and Justin called within 10 minutes and gave us a very reasonable bid in two days. A week later we had a beautiful new roof. His crew was fantastic as they worked on our very steep and difficult roof. Thank you Heritage Roofing & Construction in Millbrook, AL.

Heritage Roofing and Construction is so much more than a roofing company. They were called when we noticed some water damage in the house. Once we identified all the issues with the roof, his team started work on our timeline. They replaced the entire roof, repaired the inside damage on the wall and ceiling, and repaired additional damage on the shed, garage door, side door. In addition, after they were complete they cleaned up everything. They did such a good job we didn’t need to clean a thing. In every aspect of the job, they performed superbly.

The Heritage workers showed up first thing in the morning and began working quickly. They discovered water damage to the deck, however this did not slow them down and the deck was quickly repaired and the roof continued to go on quickly, despite very hot weather. The team spent all day from 7am to 5pm, and finished the entire roof in 1 day. All vent pipes were well-sealed and the chimneys had flashing and caulk seals, for the very first time. Heritage roofing was everything a roofing company should be. They were efficient, and knew exactly what they were doing. Afterward the Heritage team completely cleaned the property and removed all of the old roofing materials. Everyone was polite and professional.

Heritage just finished up our patio extension, and we couldn't be happier. Justin and Co. do an amazing job from conception to completion. We started with a small roof addition idea, and Justin realized a much better concept to turn it into an addition that looks like it was built with the home.

I initially called to have a small bathroom completely gutted and rebuilt (it's an old house and was falling in) but I was so impressed with Justin and his crew I went ahead and got them to put a much-needed new roof on my house, as well as replace some rotting wood on the side. I have had an outstanding experience working with them and will 100% hire them again. My only complaint is it takes awhile for them to haul off the old materials/trash, but if that's my only complaint then I am thrilled. Bathroom: complete demolition, reframed walls and joists, replaced and reconfigured plumbing, installed a skylight since there is no window, new drywall, tile, and new everything. Custom door as well as a cabinet I bought was retrofitted to be used as the vanity. I LOVE IT. Roof and rotted fascia replacement: There were several places of the decking and fascia that were rotted. They removed both layers of roof (yes, two layers) replaced the rotten wood and put brand new shingles, drip edge, fascia and siding. Outstanding job.

I had previously engaged this contractor to build a shed in my backyard to house my riding lawn mower and other items and was very satisfied with the result. This project also went great. The contractor, Justin Spivey, was always available by text and phone and closely supervised all of the work. He was responsive to what I wanted and had valuable suggestions as to how it might be done. I am very satisfied with the quality of the work and the design.
Description of Work: Remodel inside of house, excepting bedrooms, involving tearing out and constructing walls, new flooring, new kitchen, conversion to open floor plan; building an addition consisting of a new bedroom and bathroom and small alcove joining the addition to the rest of the house; adding a covered walkway to the laundry room; and constructing a new porch on the front of the house.

We were so pleased with the remodeling of our kitchen, that we had our detached garage done by Heritage Roofing and Construction as well. The old garage (carriage house) had to be demolished because it was falling apart. Justin demolished the old garage, removed the old foundation slab (jack-hammered) and poured a new larger foundation and increased the square footage by 100 feet. The one word that best describes the new two-car garage is Awesome! It is so much more than we expected. The following list is just some of the things done: • The walls are two feet taller • A 16-foot motorized garage door (new side mounted motor) with two remote openers and a sensor light • An attic with pull-down stairs for extra storage • Constructed with masonry board plank (will never rot or warp) • The shingles on the roof match the house perfectly • Three double pane windows (the old garage had one very small single pane window which could not be opened) • The outside molding trim matched the “dental” molding on the house (Justin cut over four hundred individual small pieces of wood for the trim) • Four florescent lights inside and two motion sensor floodlights outside In addition to removing and replacing the garage, over 25 feet of privacy fence was replaced to include a pedestrian gate as well as twelve-foot gate built on a steel frame with two steel gate posts mounted in three feet of concrete five feet deep. The gate provided access to the new graveled outside parking space (ideal for a boat or trailer). In summary, I highly recommend Heritage Roofing and Construction for any job. You will get more than your money’s worth. Also, his sub-contractors are professional and courteous.

Our historic home kitchen was completely remodeled. A wall was removed to expand the kitchen and add a walk-in closet. An antique door found in the attic was refinished and used for the newly constructed closet. A beam was installed to support the ceiling which was replaced. All of the cabinets were replaced to include stone countertops. All appliances (stove, refrigerator, dish washer and built-in microwave oven) were installed which required rewiring and plumbing. All was done perfectly. Previously installed (old) laminate flooring was replaced with tile. Assistance and advice was provided for the many decisions and choices that had to be made. The details to match the style of the historic home, such as crown molding, retaining door frames and doors, exposed brick from the old chimney, etc. Were amazing. In summary, I would highly recommend this builder for any project. Everything we wanted was done and exceeded our expectations. Less

This contractor fought the insurance company to get us a pretty decent settlement. The insurance adjuster suggested a new roof and a lot of patches. This provider/contractor would not go for that. He wanted the house stripped to ensure the house was properly rebuilt. He did an outstanding job by making sure we had the latest fixtures. He installed a tank-less water heater, new HVAC, roof, walls, ceiling fans, vanities, fire place, faucet...everything. He even threw in a few extras that he did not have to do such as bamboo floors in the den/living room, tile in the kitchen, and granite countertops. It was like being on HGTV. He was amazing and always answered the phone or returned phone calls in a reasonable time. Other perk that made us very happy was that he had a lawn service make the yard beautiful for our move-in and updated our appliances The only con was the timing. It was a year before our house was done, but three to four months was due to the nightmare of dealing with the insurance company and bank. In addition, we had just minor issues like mirrors and door springs. He fixed it quickly. Overall, I highly recommend this company and would recommend this company to my friends and family
Description of Work: The provider practically rebuilt the whole house. Our hot water heater was struck by lightning during a terrible storm, which caused a fire. The entire roofed burned on the inside and half of the house was destroyed, including flooring, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. It was a mess. The only thing of use to the provider were the bricks.

The contractor's name is Justin Spivey. The company is Heritage Roofing and Construction. Based on reviews on Angie's list, I called Justin to repair a hole in the corner of my roof where, apparently, a squirrel chewed through. He quoted me a price of $300 including paint, which I thought was fair. The repair required installation of new wood and removal and replacement of cable TV and Internet cables. While he was doing that repair, I opened the door of a very old metal shed in my back yard, and the door fell in. I asked Justin if he built sheds, and he stated that he did. I asked him to give me a price on a new shed and floor big enough to hold a riding mower. He said he could build and paint it for $4,500. I decided that was fair and told him to build it. While he was building it, I asked him to install two sliding windows, which cost an additional $300. The shed is 12' x 12' (exterior), has a peaked shingle roof and is unfinished inside. It has a smooth concrete floor and a vinyl window on each side of the shed. Standard 8 foot 2 X 4's were used in the walls and were spaced like the walls in a house. There is no ceiling, and given the peaked roof, the overhead is quite tall, which makes it easy to bring tall items (like ladders) in and out. There are double doors (latch included) which open to a five foot wide entrance. A short concrete ramp leads to the doors. The shed is painted the same color as my house, with white trim, and shingles that match the ones on my house. The contractor was not there every day, but we had quite a bit of rain. There was never a big mess, and everything was cleaned up when the project was completed. I also asked Justin to tear down and haul off an old kids swing set when he left. He did so, and didn't charge me for it. I am quite satisfied with the shed and the conduct of the contractor. I would use this contractor again.

We strongly recommend you hire Justin Spivey of HERITAGE ROOFING AND CONSTRUCTION. We come from construction families and we were both very impressed with his high quality work, prompt responses to any communication inquiry and the price he charged. We obtained 4 estimates to re-roof our older one story brick bungalow with a small efficiency addition. Estimates ranged from $5000 to $28000 . Justin's estimate was not the lowest, but we picked him because his estimate was affordable and his reviews on Angie's List and Home Advisor were excellent. He was also very prompt. From initial request for an estimate to new roof completely installed was less than 10 days. We give Justin and Heritage Roofing and Construction our highest positive review.

First a little background. I purchased the house in 2011. The original house was built in 1955 and is still rock solid. Approximately two thirds of the roof is architectural shingles and is less than 10 years old. The remaining portion of the house was added on sometime in the 1970's and is commercial style flat roofing. It's not really flat, but has a very shallow slope. If it had a steeper slope that matched the slope of the front 2/3, there wouldn't be enough headroom for adult human beings to walk around. Justin came out that morning just before heading out on a another emergency job and did a quick assessment and discovered a leaky pipe boot. Came back that night around 6:30 and put up a tarp to keep out any further rain until he could get back out the next day to do the job. After the pipe boot was replaced, he said that the pipe boot was probably the least of our problems but he wouldn't be able to do a really thorough inspection without making matters worse. Whole sections of flat roof were loose and lifting up from the decking. He quoted me a price of $2500 to replace the entire flat roof section. I'm a firm believer in the doctrine of "trust but verify." However, there are some things that I'm physically unable to verify on my own. So, I told him that I needed to get a second opinion before I could commit to anything that large and that he'd be on the short list to get the job when the time came. When Justin left, my brother, who was visiting at the time, got on the phone to a friend of his in the industry for a price check based on the quote Justin provided. That price quote came in approximately $800 higher. I spent most of the next day calling other roofing companies trying to get inspections and subsequent quotes and ended up leaving voice messages with 4 or 5 different companies. The one instance where a person actually answered the phone told me they'd have one of their guys call me to schedule a time to come by to check it out and give me a quote. My sister, who worked in construction before joining the Montgomery Police Department, came over that afternoon and climbed onto the roof to verify its condition. She agreed with Justin's assessment. The flat section of the roof had to be replaced, sooner rather than later. The next morning, I called Justin to schedule the repair. .Work began on Friday, Feb 14th 2014 and would have been completed that day except for a miscalculation in the amount of roofing he needed. He ran out before the was completely covered. He would have to get another roll of the roofing material. There was a slight chance of rain, but Justins big tarp was at another job site with his other crew, so we crossed our fingers and hoped that Mr. Murphy wouldn't pay a visit. No such luck, it started raining around 8:00pm and started leaking from several places almost immediately. I whipped out my smartphone and fired off a text message to Justin. He responded almost immediately with, "Is there any dry-wall getting wet." I answered, "Maybe, let me ask my father-in-law." I was bed-ridden at the time so all I could do was yell out, "Hey, is there any dry-wall getting wet?" My brother called back, "What?" Before I could even repeat my question, my phone issued the "incoming text message" sound. It was Justin, "I'm here with tarp." A couple of minutes later I heard footsteps on the roof and the flow of water began to slow down a couple of minutes after that. The next morning, Justin and his helper(s) were back on the roof finishing up before I had even woke up and we haven't had a single leak since. Justin wrote on the job contract that he guarantee'd the roof for as long as I owned the home. Since I fully intend to live out the rest of my life in this house, I really can't ask for any more. So, other than the hiccup with not being able to finish and leaving the roof vulnerable to rain my experience with Heritage Roofing was about as good as it could have been. The quick way Justin responded when a problem did occur, made what could have been a disaster turn out very well. if anyone asks me to recommend a roofing company, my recommendation will be for them to call Justin at

Worked with a previous contractor for 2 years to try and solve a leak in our roof. With no success, the first contractor settled on a roof replacement as the fix. We consulted Heritage Roofing to verify whether the roof actually needed to be replaced. Justin identified that the roof was in good shape and the source of the leak was the improperly wrapped/sealed chimney. A couple of beads of properly applied sealant quickly solved the issue. Our experience with Justin was outstanding and we highly recommend his services.

Heritage Roofing and Construction is the real deal contractor. He did what he said he would do. I will hire Heritage Roofing again if I need any roofing work done. The work was finished in 1 day and 2 hours. They did a wonderful job of cleaning everything up. I didn't have to clean anything. Thank God the cleaned up all the roofing nails with a magnet on wheels. (got them all). The contractor was very friendly and worked with me on the price and work to be done. He was more than fair. He was the cheapest of 4 contractors. I was pleased with the work and the workers. They were all business, no horse play, no loud noise. Unlike some people I have hired.
