Olympic Fence

Mark and his team did a very nice job on the installation of out fence. They were able to finish in one day. It looks professional and well done.

They came quickly, provided an estimate well below the other, and did a great job. Our lot is small but hilly. They installed a new gate as part of the purchase, and did a great job being creative about moving it slightly so it no longer was attached to our home. We can highly recommend them.

Mark came to measure and consult on a fence for my back yard. He was knowledgeable polite. He did not have examples of the special type of fence I needed but emailed a picture and quote several days later. The quote he gave was $6620 to which I agreed. The fence was special order and took longer than expected for materials to arrive so installation did not happen until about 6 weeks after estimate was given. I did want to be there during installation so that could have been the cause for 2 weeks of the delay based on my schedule. His crew showed up to install the fence - they seemed to be very meticulous in the installation and the evidence is there based on the quality of the fence and installation. Unfortunately they dumped left over concrete and some garbage at the edge of my yard (right at the water's edge of our neighborhood lake) - I didn't find it until a few days later and then contacted Mark. They came back out to clean up. Also, they left concrete debris, grass/soil debris in the surrounding grass which is well-managed sod - I cleaned that up myself. Twice during their visit they accidentally drove into my yard leaving deep ruts from the truck tires. The first time I was not made aware but I saw it on my own. The workers 'patched it' without telling me. The second time was when they came out to clean up the trash. I notified Mark to send someone out to repair it - never did and after about a week of waiting I did it myself. This was not hard to do but I felt that out of principle he should have addressed this IMMEDIATELY, especially after adding to my bill (see later). Several fence posts were placed in the driveway concrete by my request using 'core drilling'. They spilled the filler concrete on my concrete driveway around the post holes leaving gray concrete on my purposefully tan/brown stained driveway. I had to call him back to fix it - he tried to brush it off with a wire brush but that didn't work. This could have been avoided by taping off the holes as you would do when you paint trim. At the end of installation Mark started asking me about other quotes - I had not asked anyone else for a quote - I liked him and his business came highly recommended on Angie's List so I agreed after one quote. He then went on to explain how he under quoted me and it should have been about 7-900 dollars more. Trying to be fair I said I would be willing to pay him what he thought was fair, he added $500 to the bill and I agreed. Unfortunately I did not see the garbage at the lake before that or the cigarette butts in the yard. Also the second tire track in the yard did not occur until they came back to pick up the garbage. OVERALL ADVICE: Hire this company, they do good work. Be there during the work to watch for yard damage and look for where they are dumping their garbage. Confirm the price quote and make sure you agree on any possible changes BEFORE work starts. Go over the work with a fine-toothed comb before they leave. SUMMARY: Good fence, not Type A people.

Once ther got here installation was done in a single day

Everything went pretty well. I had to ask them to come out multiple times. Once to take the existing fence down and then to come back a few days later to install the new fence. They did a great job and I would use them again. They are highly recommended.

Secretary said the owner would call back to set an appointment but never did.

He was flexible when we decided to switch from wood to chain link. The fence looks nice. His workers came when he said they would. We had 3 quotes, and his came in at the middle.

Mark came and measured the area. His estimate was below about 4 or more competitors and since I had read many good reviews, we decided to hire him. His crew was very busy and wasn't able to start right away, but came and finished the fence within about two weeks time. They were courteous, and did a good job with the fence. I mentioned that my husband wanted a gate he could get his riding lawnmover through so the guy changed the dimensions of the gate right there for me. The fence looks very nice and they did a good clean up after they installed it. We were very pleased with the work.

Showed up promptly for the estimate. I was initially very impressed with Mark (I assume the owner). I got good vibes from him and he was strait forward and seemed like a good guy. I believe that if Mark had done the work himself that there would be no issues and it would have gotten an "A" rating across the board. Unfortunately this was not the case. I contracted with Mark, but on the day of installation I got the "B" string. The crew that showed up was definitely not up to the standards I was hoping for. They seemed fairly "green" and definitely not a polished group of guys. I heard cussing and saw dip spitting, and had to pickup trash and cigarette butts after they left. Communication from them was almost non-existant. I was onsite for the install and requested that they consult me if they ran into any issue or had any questions. They never did. I proactively checked on the job after an hour or so, only to find that they had run into an issue with the initial measurements and made the call to install extra fence posts in the middle of a run. It was not attractive at all. Once I expressed that it was not acceptable, they were eager to fix this issue, but had to almost completely start over. All of which could have been avoided by knocking on the door and asking a simple question. Communications continued to be an issue as they left the job site without even knocking on the door to have a final once over by me. As is always the case there were some adjustments that needed to be done and could have been taken care of in about 5 minutes, but because the left the site un-announced....I have to go through the hassle of calling them back and having them come back out to fix it. This took further time out of my schedule. The fence also arrived scratched and required that they re-paint quite a bit of it. It was a bit dis-concerting to get a new fence and see it from day-one to have scratches and paint scuffs. Obviously the fence had just been thrown in the back of a flat bed truck and post hole diggers and shovels just tossed on top of it. Again, I suspect a "B" string issue. Mark, the original guy I met and liked, never came back to the site himself. I truly felt like I got stuck with the second string team and I've got to tell you....was not impressed.

Mark and his team were punctual, started the job when they promised and cleaned up after themselves. His team arrived early on the day of installation and continued working in drizzling rain to finish the job. I am extremely pleased with the fencing and we have had many neighbors compliment on it. We would highly recommend Olympic Fence.

Called for estimate, came within a few days, set a date and fence installed. Things went according to plan and we stayed on schedule.

Company was slow to respond to my original quote request due to a one-time computer system glitch (changing to a new system), so I wouldn't expect others to have that problem. Got the black fence. When the posts were installed some concrete got on them above the ground level. When I pointed this out they were quick to spray paint over this so it doesn't show. We do have 1 gate that rubs against itself when you open it. Otherwise we are pleased.

As a member of Angie's list, I searched here first for a fencing company recommendation. After reading the reviews for local companies, I contacted Mark with Olympic Fence. He was very quick to respond to my inquiry about obtaining an estimate for a chain-link fence and was able to meet with me quickly to determine the best fencing solution for my yard (which needed fencing for my dog and his puppy friends). Due to an unexpected out-of-town work conflict, I had to reschedule the job (originally scheduled for approximately two weeks from the estimate date). Mark was very considerate and accommodating. Once the job began, his employees arrived punctually, completed the job efficiently and professionally, and were very thoughtful about fence placement to accommodate previously existing landscaping and to ensure the dogs could play in the yard without escaping. All of my interactions with Olympic Fence were positive. I appreciate their hard work and professionalism and I would recommend them to others.

The owner gave us an estimate. Price was accurate and did not change. They did work quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend them.

I called Olympic Fence to schedule an estimate on a backyard fence. Three days later, my call was returned and an appointment was made. The day of the appointment, I took off work early to meet Olympic Fence for the estimate, and they never showed nor called. I called him back that evening, and he was very apologetic, as he had a busy week and unexpected car trouble- but you could tell that he had forgotten about the appointment all together ("what was your name again... oh yeah, now I remember"). I gave them an overall experience grade of D instead of F because he was so apologetic on the phone, but still, no call + no show = bad business.

Olympic Fence came out and gave us a quote , which seemed reasonable. They indicated it would be a few weeks before the materials would be available to do the work, which we were fine with . The only issue we had was that there wasn't much followup after we made the order. I had to call a couple of times to make sure we were still on the list . Each time I called they were very nice and indicated that they did have us still slated - there were just some other jobs they needed to finish first. Once they came out and started the work (which would take over 2 days), we discovered that the folks building the fence didn't have all of the lumber they needed to build the type of fencing we had ordered. They made a call to Mark, and with his help, they were able to make some improvisation, with the end result being the fencing that we were hoping to have when the order was placed. We were very pleased with the service provided by this company and the quality of work performed.

Went very well will use again if ever need more fencing done.

Mr. Bobby Morris called me on Monday and we spoke briefly regarding the fencing I needed for my mother's house. He agreed to come out and give an estimate for the work on Friday at 11:00 a.m. He never showed up. He never called. I had taken time off from work to be there and he simply didn't show. I won't be using them in the future.

They were excellent. They came when they said they would and did the job within the time they said they would. When the job was done it was completely done. I would use this company again.

They did a good job. They showed up on time. They were in line with everybody else in terms of their pricing.

I can't say enough good things about Olympic Fence! I had to wait 3-4 weeks because of the tornado so he was really busy but he was worth the wait. He replaced half of my fence that included both wooden privacy fencing, chainlink fencing, 2 gates and had to work around tree stumps. It was a difficult job but his work was great!

Based on the measurement of footage I had, I was given a rough estimate of the cost over the phone. Mark, the owner, then came out to measure, look at the job to be done and give me an exact cost quote. What was still remaining of the old fence and posts were removed and the new post and fence fence installed in 2 days. The results were great! Mark suggested I have the fence sections arched. It really adds to the fence and I have had many compliments on it. I was so pleased with the work Olympic did, I will have them rebuild my deck too.

Was very satisfied with their performance on a pretty challenging project. Installing the chain link fence on a steep grade, with uneven ground, large rocks, shrubs etc. They cleared the ground along the fenceline and evened the ground when necessary. It was an akward place for a fence, but we had to have something to contain our dog -- but these guys made it look great, better than I would have thought it could.
