Terminix - Madison -Termite & Pest Control

I no longer trust Terminix after fifteen years of enduring scheduling difficulties. These problems were the result of arbitrary, centralized scheduling conducted from their national headquarters. However, now the local branch seems out of control. Six months ago, I received a call from a technician telling me he would be conducting an inspection on January 3, 2023, but he never showed up. This was the second time he had failed to arrive, because he had called a month earlier and never showed. Regardless of two missed appointments, I was asked to renew my coverage without my annual inspection having been made. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. Lesson learned and my patience exhausted.

Rep came to moms house got her to pay them 3800 dollars, for days now ive tried to contact Huntsville office, no reciept to her, no WDIR, no termite bond, no answers and of course no one answers the phone, have to leave message and text them which ive done repeatedly to no avail. They have taken out all insulation under her house put plastic on ground and left

In Alabama you have to have a termite letter in order to be able sell your house. You have to test termite free. We have used them since we bought the house in 2010. Around here, there are national chain and a lot of local places that we haven't heard not the greatest feedback on. We decided to go with a major chain in case there were any problems. They are a chain and are decent enough to use. I wouldn't rave about them. They are good enough. They are not bad, but they are not great. They are good, just not excellent.

The only thing I might like is their warranty. I'm not sure because I haven't had to use it yet. They should have put the bait stations out correctly and inspected like they were suppose to. None of that is the way it ought to be. I will probably do my own pest control.

Excellent job of installing & cleaning up. No problems whatsoever. Clear communication as to what to expect. Transaction was simple.

Great sere vice for termite control, but would rate lower for the pest service as they sub-contract.

I called after noticing a paper on the door. Of course, they willl not come back that day so I had to schedule another day. The note left on the door says no signs on outside and recommendations are none at this time. I am not sure if the technicians realize what they are coming out to your hourse for. This was suppose to be a home interior inspection. They seem to be confused about just what treatments they are doing.

They conduct termite inspections but don't get in the crawl space to look for Termite activity nor inside the house. Year after year I ask them to give me a date to schedule, they just show up and leave a note that the Inspeciton was done. I assume their inspection is nothing more than a walk around the house.

It seems every year I have to tell Terminix to call me before they come out to do an inspection because I have to unlock my crawl space so they can inspect. The past several years they performed an inspection without notice, usually in February, and did not inspect the crawl space since they did not contact me prior to their inspection. I usually have to call back to make them do another inspection so I can unlock the crawl space. So today, the inspector came out and inspected our 2500 sq ft crawl space in less that 5 minutes. I asked the inspector how thorough could he be when he spent only 5 minutes under the house? He said he did this for a living and knows what to look for. I complained last year about the same thing and another inspector came out and did a very thorough job - he spent around and hour inspecting everything and then tried to sell me several different treatment regimens/products for insects, mold, and attic insulation. I politely declined. They have done a good job however keeping my house treated since I haven't seen any termites in about 10 years now.

I drove 212 miles for appointment only to discover my appointment had been rescheduled to a date and time without informing me. Terminix has been informed and it's documented in my file that I'm not currently not living in the Huntsville home. Big inconvenience.

Since the provider refused to identify the insects and wanted to perform the same useless treatment they had applied before, I asked the technician to contact his supervisor which he did immediately. However, the supervisor would not talk to me or call me on my home telephone line. Since I was getting nowhere with my request for a new service treatment on this insect, I asked the technician to leave without treating the insects. Several days later, I still had not received a call back from the Huntsville Terminex office. I then called the national Terminex hotline requesting the supervisor of the Huntsville Terminex franchise call me directly. I have never received a call back to this date, I still have the insects.

During the first appointment, the service rep came within the time frame specified, spayed the inside of the house and then checked the outside problems, even crawling under the house. My hopes were high that my problems would be solved but when the service rep talked to me, he said that he believed there were chipmunks about the house and that Terminix doesn't cover chipmunks. He did say that they covered mice and rats but when asked, what really was the difference, he just said that they don't cover chipmunks. He did agree to put some rat traps down under the house and then said to wait two weeks and call to have somebody come out to check the traps. I asked can't you just go ahead and schedule that now while you are here. He said that he couldn't, I had to call the national 800 number to schedule an appointment. He left and I called and scheduled an appointment. Frustrating process that he couldn't do it either on the spot or just after leaving. Two weeks go by and my next appointment arrives. The service rep shows up, checks the traps, and tells none of them were disturbed. I asked why that would be and the best answer that I got was that with the warmer weather, the chipmunks were probably staying outside now. This became a useless battle with the chipmunks and I didn't see any signs of further activity, so I let it slide with Terminix. A weeks ago, I get a call saying that my quarterly inspection and treatment was scheduled and that I needed to be home between 9AM and Noon so that they could have access to the inside of the house to treat it. I sat home well past noon with nobody coming to the door. Late in the day, I get an email from Terminix saying that the work order had been completed, with just an explanation that an outside inspection was completed. I checked around the house and found a plastic Terminix bag hanging from my front door with paper in it reconfirming what the email said. If somebody came to the house, which I'm sure they did, they obviously were very sneaky about as nobody rang the door bell, knocked, nor did I see or hear anybody outside. I sat a good part of the day, missing work, for nothing.

Firs off, I normally would not write a review on a company that I did not use, however in this case I figured that it was appropriate. I purchased a home that had been treated for termites in the past and that had a current contract with Terminex to inquire about the service and what exactly it was. I called Terminex and I got a lady on the phone. I told her that the house I purchased had an existing contract with Terminex to prevent termites. She asked me for my name and I told her that it was not yet in my name. She sad what is your address. I told her and she said she could not find it. I told her I was looking at the existing contract and confirmed I was talking to Terminex in Huntsville. The lady hung up on me. I called the next day and got someone different. She asked for my address and she said she could not find it. I confirmed it and found that they had the street name wrong. She was then able to pull it up. She said that she could not give me info but that a a salesman could come out and give me all the information. She too was somewhat rude but I figured ok....just talk to the salesman when he comes and all would be fine. The salesman came and I greeted him at the door and invited him in. He seemed to just stand there at the door not wanting to move. He proceeded to tell me that to switch the existing contract into my name and a yearly fee he said todays charge is $350.00 (I do not remember the exact amount but this is very close). I said $350 for what? To make a long story short this seemed offended that I would ask that and did not want to give me any info on what exactly the service was and what service would be provided. I could tell that talking to this guy was useless. He was not there to give me any help at all. He just wanted a check.I told him I would think about it and that I would call back if I wanted the service....what ever the heck the service was for because I still did not have any idea how this all worked .I spoke with a few neighbors and two told me to call Cooks Pest control. I did, and Cooks came out and the salesman explained everything I needed to know. Terminex made it very easy for me to decide that Cooks was a superior company and that is who I would give my business to. I should also note that Angies list also made it an easy choice based on what others had to say about them.

They charge a quarterly fee. When they come out as Terminix pest control they come out and are very careful in what they do. They are concise and bring plenty of supplies like traps, rat poison and etc because I live in a wooded area so I have a field mice problem when it gets cold outside. They come out for lawn care too because I have been dealing with crabgrass for a year so I finally purchased myself some roundup and it’s gone. I will cancel the fertilization and spraying of my lawn at the end of my contract.

There is nothing we disliked about them and we’ve not had any problem.

I have been using Terminix for 3 years. I like the results, we have not had any trouble. They are here on time and do what they are supposed to. I pay quarterly for service.

They come out every month to spray for pests. I grade them a B overall.

They do a good job. They gave us a pretty good deal on it, and they guy who came out did a really good job.

The service is fair; it depends on who comes out. We will keep our contract with them.

I did have termite damage in the house. They had to re-drill the holes in my brick on the outside of the house. They plugged them with some plastic material. They didn't clean the mess they made outside the house. Three months later, they replugged the holes they made. I have to call them again.

They come and spray when we are not home. We will continue to use them.

My husband took care of the bill, so, I don't know how much it was. We've had them for a long time. We had termites after we moved in the house, we let them come in, do their thing, so, we no longer have termites, and we just keep up with all of it. My husband checked a lot of things and I was not in on that. He did all of that. We're still with them. I will continue to use them in the future if needed.

They do a pretty good job, and they are punctual.

I am satisfied with them. They are as good as anybody. I do not have any complaints against them. I would use them in the future.
