Rise Heat and Air

Ben and his sons were professional and punctual. They appeared to have done a good job, but were overpriced. I purchased a maintenance plan and had the first service in December. Only Ben’s son, Clint came. We mentioned the heat was luke warm, but Clint said everything was fine and left. In early February, we heard a loud pop and a puff of smoke come from the A/C unit. The heat would now only blow ice cold air. Ben came to look at it and said the compressor blew and we needed larger heat strip (15k instead of the 10k we currently had. He quoted us $880 to fix everything including the $150 warranty transfer fee and labor (which labor is not warrantied). Seemed highly overpriced and we weren’t willing to get soaked out of $150 to transfer a warranty. We chose to have the parts ordered from the appliance place I purchased the unit from, but when I spoke to Ben to confirm the parts needed, he copped an attitude. By this point it was obvious we needed a second opinion! We hired a professional HVAC guy who’s done the job for 20 years. It was obvious that the 10k heat strip was never hooked up nor a breaker installed which would have prevented damage to the compressor. The work has been done properly and labor warrantied for 10 years! I would not recommend Rise at all, since clearly they don’t know what they are doing, don’t warranty labor (I see why now) and overcharge.

They completed the job quickly, I realize they probably didn't know how much refrigerant it would need, but it would have been nice to get a heads up on the costs to refill before they completed the work. I was expecting something like 100 - 200$ for the maintenance so 500$ just for refrigerant came as a surprise. My AC unit is only 6 years old, so I wouldn't expect it to need that much.

Ben and his sons were great! They gave us a military discount and setup our Nest thermostats. The new units work amazing and they were prompt, quick and professional! I was so happy I set up a maintenance contract with them.

We have had two 20+ year old HVAC units installed by Rise Heating and Air. They replaced the first one in April 2016 and the second in April 2017. Ben and his guys were extremely professional and offered good advice on the options for both our units. Their prices were very competitive and the installation went smoothly. For the first unit, Ben contacted us a couple months after the installation to check the unit cooling performance after we entered the hot part of summer...a nice follow-up I would strongly recommend giving Rise a call if you are getting quotes for a replacement system.

Excellent job, technicians were on time and their system install went pretty well (always a hiccup or two but nothing they couldn't handle). Tim/Clint and Ben were a big help in getting a reasonably priced top branded HVAC unit with a top quality install on short notice. I would most emphatically recommend you give these guys a call and give you an estimate on any needed heating or cooling needs. P.S. My new inside unit is much quieter and cooling heaps better than the old replaced unit ever did. The outside using is quieter too.
