This was a difficult review to make because there were two different aspects to evaluate. We are not certain of the date of service so that date might be incorrect. On that day, we discovered a leak in the wall behind the refrigerator. Madison Plumbing came immediately and repaired it quickly. It was great service. Now to the second item: we had some work required to reroute some pipes behind the master bathroom sink to keep the pipes from freezing in cold weather. After receiving such good service in the first instance, we stopped at their office to ask about getting an estimate for the work. Someone came out the next day and said we would be getting an estimate soon. Two weeks later, we had heard nothing. We called, and were told someone would call back. No call back. We then stopped at their location again. We were assured that they still had our contact information and they were working on it. We heard nothing. It has now been at least two months since the original contact, and to this day we have never heard from them. We gave up and hired another firm.

They were friendly and had to work a long time to get the lines clear. I was happy with the work they did, but the problem came about when I tried to hire them to correct some other issues with the lines. I told them to email me a quote on taking care of the other problems and the guy wrote down my email address but I never heard from them. I called to see why no one ever contacted me and the lady on the phone said she would check into it. I never heard from her either. So that is why they are not getting a good rating.

They had to dig three holes to locate the right water lines and install the water pressure regulator in 90 degree heat. Bobby was so nice and it really didn't bother him that he had to do this, he just kept plugging at it until he found what he needed. I really felt the price was reasonable considering what he had to go through. Would definitely use them again as I have in the past several times for other jobs!

Madison Plumbing was the only company that could respond quickly. We were having an event at our church and this needed to be done. The technician, John, showed up the day after we called, and the installation took no time at all. We were given options about what exactly we wanted, and the price was fair. (It was about $40 cheaper than the estimate we got at the store when we bought the faucets.)

On about 1/11/14 John installed new faucets in kitchen along with hooking up the garbage disposal. The work was not done properly and water leaked out beneath the sink and under the laminate, which warped the laminate in the kitchen. Called John returned to view his work and stated that he made a mistake and he would let this boss know. Contractor named Bill called and set up an appointment. Bill took measurements and left telling me he would call me back. After several days, I called Bill on 2/14/14 and he said that the owner would contact me. Never heard from the owner. Called on 2/18/14 and asked to speak to the owner. I have since talked to Anthony. He stated that they wanted to make things right and their insurance company would contact me by 2/21/2014. Still have not heard from the owner or their insurance company. Called again 2/26/14 and spoke with Anthony requested that the owner call me back before EOB. Still have not heard from the owner. I should not have to keep calling the owner. He should return my calls. It was Madison Plumbing's fault our kitchen floor is now damaged. Their employee admitted fault. Still waiting!!!

Response from Madison Plumbing Service
On January 11, 2014 [member name removed] called for a service call to replace 3 lavatory facuets, 1 kitchen sink faucet and a garbage disposal that were all furnished by Mr. Kinney. Madison Plumbing dispatched a technician and he performed the work. On February 16, 2014 [member name removed] called and said he had a leak on the kitchen sink faucet. Madison Plumbing sent the same technician out and he found a defect from the factory causing the leak. He repaired the leak and explained to [member name removed] that this particular style of faucet was prone to leak at this connection and he needed to keep an eye on this in the future. There was some damage to his flooring in the kitchen area. Our technician took it upon himself to ask our contractor to assess the floor damage and report back to us his findings. When he did, I determined we might need to involve our Insurance Company in this process. [member name removed] contacted me and he responded the same day. I explained to [member name removed] that I had already turned this over to our Insurance Company and he shoud contact his Insurance Company so that everyone would be on the same page. I explained to [member name removed] that the leak was a defect in material that he furnished and I did not know if our Insurance Company would take care of this matter or not because he furnished the materials and we do not Warrany materials that the Customer furnishes. [member name removed] called back on February 26, 2014 and said he had not been contacted by our Insurance Company and Anthony told [member name removed] we had turned it over to the Insurance Company and we did not know the status at this time. On March 3, 2014 [member name removed] came to our office demanding to know why they had not been contacted. At this time the Owner contacted our Insurance Agent to call me ASAP. [member name removed] left abruptly. (She was very rude and informed me that if she did not hear back from us by Wednesday she would return to our office.) Later in the day the Insurance Agent returned my call and I asked him what the status was and he informed me he had turned this in the first day I called him and he would check on this and get back in touch with me. On Wednesday, March 5, 2014 [member name removed] came to our office and demanded to know the name of our Insurance Company and our Agents name and I gave him the information and the telephone number and he abruptly left. ([member name removed] was very rude) Because of the faulty devices provided to us by these customers and the damage caused by the faulty devices, this matter is being addressed by our Insurance Company.

We were experiencing low hot water pressure. We called Madison Pluming on Friday afternoon and the dispatcher was prepared to send a technician out that afternoon. At our request, they scheduled us for Monday morning. The technician called about 15 minutes prior to arriving. The technician quickly diagnosed the cause of the low hot water pressure and repaired the leaks to the intake. We had full pressure hot water within 2 hours. We have always had great service from Madison Plumbing and will definitely use them again.

They made sure to come out in the morning after the granite had set for 24 hours so I would not be without a kitchen sink for longer then I had to. He encountered several problem with the water supply lines not being long enough and the drain pipes not fitting the new items, so he was able to put in new pvc pipe for the drain and to lengthen the water supply lines so they would fit. He did a very professional job and it was a plumbing work of art when he was done. Everything is working great and had no problems with the installation. I have used them several times and have always been happy with their services.

I got a couple of estimated from folks that were from Angie's List and Madison Plumbing Service only had a B rating but we've got work done by them before and our neighbor had a very similar project done so we went with them anyway. One of the deciding factors was cost, they weren't the cheapest but they weren't the most expensive either. Given my discretion with the technician that was going to do the work, I decided to go with them and they were able to get the job done withing a day of the estimate so that was another driver.

I wanted to make one comment about Madison plumbing bc I think looking around for a better price would be my recommendation; however you get what you pay for sometimes. Everything went very well, response was great, work was great, fixed immediately and acted proffessional but when it came to bill time I was a little taken i.e. parts $20 labor $90 for 15 minutes of work. If had known it was $90 per hour and $90 minimum, I would have let him replace all of my seals in each sink and repaired my garbage disposal at the same time to get my money's worth. I would have been happy to pay a few dollars for seals and have the guy for one hour.

The leaking exterior faucet was due to being frozen. The plumber fixed the leak using the original faucet so no new parts were required. Location of the faucet was close to brickwork so not easy to access. Was very happy with quick response and quality work. My second experience with them was to replace a pressure control regulator. This repair required them to dig down to the water supply line outside the house. The plumber stayed past 5:00 almost an hour to complete the job and didn't charge any extra on the labor even though he ran into some difficulties. The result was great. There have been no further problems related to that repair. The last job was water heater replacement. This happened suddenly and I thought that the problem was only related to a heating element since the heater was over 15 years old. But, it turned out that the problem was massive build up of lime and a new heater was required. I mentioned that I could get a new water heater myself at a good price from Park Supply. They told me that would be fine if I wanted to do that but they could get the same heater and install it at an overall lower price if I let them do the entire job. They gave me a quote and I agreed. The plumber returned left to get the new heater and returned within an hour and completed the installation. The installation was smooth and professional. I was suprised to find that the final cost was actually less than their estimate! Generally, I have been nothing but impressed by the work of Madison Plumbing.
Description of Work: I have used Madison Plumbing on three occasions. Just now got on Angie's List so I will tell you about all of them. The services have been performed over the last 5 years. The first was a simple repair of a leaking exterior faucet, the second was a pressure regulator replacement and the third was water heater replacement.

Initial call to set up an appointment went well, someone came out right away actually to give a quote. The job was small, around $300 to extend/raise up existing water supply lines to accommodate a new bathtub that was taller than the previous one. The quote also included putting the tub (already purchased and sitting in my living room) into place. A time for services was set for morning about 2 days later. Called them the afternoon before to ask a question and they guy who was going to perform the work said they would actually be out later than expected (now around 12:30 PM). Around that time I had to call them again to see if they were coming soon because my wife was waiting for them to show up. They said sorry they were running behind and had no workers to send over there until later that afternoon. Mind you I wouldn't have known if I had not phoned them. I wait until a little after 4 PM..this whole time I hear ZERO updates from them about the status of my appointment in the meantime. Knowing they close at 5 PM, I break down and call again to see if they're coming. The man answering the phone yells out for someone to pick up and quot;Line whateverand quot; and says and quot; It's that Flores guy.and quot; The plumber who was supposed to show up at my house with a helper states that he has no one to help him do the job. Then he says maybe sometime tomorrow or the day after. He can't give me a definitive time. I tell him I'm worried about accepting that because my project has already been tied up a few days because I was depending on them. At that point I told them that I just couldn't risk it. They made no attempt to try anyways even when I told them to forget it. If I owned a plumbing business I wouldn't keep a customer in the dark about what's going on. I shouldn't have to call THEM...they should be calling me.

First off, I hate doing this, however the facts are the facts and others that may be considering who to hire needs to hear this. I hired them because of their commitment to doing the job right, however it did not go that way. I caught them in a series of lies showed a pattern of intent to deceive me. I asked about the permit and the plumber swore that had one and that he would show it to me. I called the City Code Dept and found that no permit had been paid for or granted. the plumber swore to me it it was a mistake and that they had gotten a permit for a regular hot water heater and not a tankless and that was the reason they showed no permits. I called the city back and asked them and they told me that that was not true and that no permits of any kind had been paid for or granted. They told me that Roland was on his way to get the permit. I called the city later on and they told me that they did get the permit to do the job. The next Saturday the Plumber told me that before they could finish up and hook the gas up that the inspector would have to look at it. On Monday he said that the inspector had checked it out and that everything was good .A few days later pat said that everything was done and that it was good. I called the City and found that no inspection had been done and that they never called for an inspection. I asked for one and the Inspector came out and left a note that it was NOT passed because there was no insulation to protect pipes from freezing and that the Electric had not been done properly. It was my impression that this is why he lied to me and that it had passed inspection thinking that nobody would ever check to see that it had.In addition to all of this the bracket on top of the unit that holds it is not done properly. the bracket is twisted sideways and only held with one side connected to the box. I had just seen a report on the news about bad contractors not getting permits or inspections leaving the customer libel for problems down the road. I am not saying that Madison Plumbing is one of them, but you can look at the facts and make up your own mind. In addition to the lies and not doing the work up to code, it took them over two weeks to do what should have been a one day job. Through the process there was a period of several no shows and no calls either.I called the Manager Roland and he assured me that it would be fixed right, but he can not fix the lies and the delays. To this point it remains with no insulation to protect it from freezing, and with the bracket holding it to the box twisted sideways and held by only one screw that is not even put in correctly. One last comment about the price getting an F. Even the best price in town is not acceptable if the job is not done right. You can not say lousy job but hey........great price. UPDATEand gt;and gt;and gt;and gt;and gt;and gt;and gt;and gt;and gt;and gt;and gt; The water heater has been in for a few months now and the bad news j[just keeps on coming. When the unit was installed the installer made a comment about the gas meter and then said there was nothing to worry about. He said that sometimes you may need a larger meter to handle the extra gas load, but said that in our case we would be just fine and that nothing is needed. I accepted that and let it go. When Roland came out he mentioned that we would likely need a larger meter and told me that he would calculate our total BTU load and get back to me. I had called him two times to get back to me and I have heard nothing. Last week I had contact with Conditioned Air Solutions which is another plumbing and heating business in Madison. To make a long story short we talked about how Madison Plumbing did the job and Paul at Conditioned Air Solutions said no big deal, we will come out and look at it for you at no charge. They came out and looked at everything and advised me that in the warm weather it would be fine, however in the cold weather I would not have enough gas to heat the house or heat the water. My gas meter will deliver the gas to handle 250,000 BTUs, however with my furnace, hot water, stove, and gas logs my current load is 420,000 BTUs. We were just over that with the old water heater, however with the tankless unit we are way over the capacity of our meter. Without the help of conditioned Air Solutions, Madison Plumbing would have quite literally left us out in the cold. I have put in a call to the Gas Company and they are going to install a new meter to handle the load, no thanks to Madison Plumbing. It is common to make a small mistake or maybe overlook something, but my gosh to have a company come out and give you lie after lie and to not have any interest in code our doing the job right is way beyond comprehension. I can say without any doubt that Madison Plumbing has been the worst contractor I have ever done business with bar none.
Description of Work: I hired Madison Plumbing to install a tankless water heater. I got estimates from three and all prices were prettty much in line and I selected Madison Plumbing because the estimater seemed to know what he was doing and promised to do it right. He ensured me that all appropriate permits would be taken care of and that it would be done as I expected.

They removed the old tub and granite sides. When they brought the one piece replacement tub/shower it was approximately 9 inches too short. They came back and told us they did not have a one piece tub/shower and we could buy the tub and would have to pay for the wall to be tiled. After some arguements, they finally agreed they would have to eat the cost of the larger tub and the tile. After two days of tub work, the wall tile came next. The subcontractor they hired to perform the tile job showed up for the job and was less than energetic to work. Half way through the job, he got a call for an industrial job and left our work to take the higher paying industrial job. After one and one half weeks he finally completed.
