 + -1 moreThe PROFESSIONALS (Trent and Bart) arrived a few minutes early. Introduced themselves, clarified what work they came to perform. They were clean , courteous and wasted no time! As each task was completed, they cleaned up the area and removed all trash from the premises. They treated each other with respect and asked for clarification on issues such as height of chandelier and volume of doorbell. We will absolutely be contacting this provider for future electrical projects. They were fantastic and everything they worked on looks great and functions properly! So glad we gave Angie's List a call and very pleased to discover Current Electrical.
Description of Work: We purchased a "Big Deal" ...Checked whole house electrical system. Hung 2 ceiling fans, swapped out a chandelier, repaired door bell...and cleaned up after ALL work locations were completed. The amount "cost of service" includes an extra hour of service and necessary parts used to correct some electrical issues throughout the house. It was worth every penny!

 + -1 moreThe two men were very professional and worked quickly and efficiently to find the root cause of the problem that I'd limped along without since buying my house in 2011 shortly after moving in. The man who came on the first call kept me informed and provided an estimate in advance of the call on 17 JUN 15 and it ended up costing less because his original thought on what the fix would be turned out to be less than expected. I will definitely call upon Current Electrical & Generator Services for any future electrical service needs in my home.
Description of Work: I purchased the Angie's List deal for 2 hours of service for $99 and a very professional man came out and to, what I thought was needed, to replace a defective GFCI breaker as someone else who had looked at the problem a few years ago told me. The electrician checked all of my light switches and outlets found a hidden GFCI behind a butler's pantry in the garage and even checked everything in the attic. The source of the problem was still eluding and at the end of the two hours, he presented me with options. I took his recommendation to schedule another call where he could bring someone else along to help him find the problem. The discovered that it was the hidden GFCI and that it was overloading the breaker and installed a split breaker since my breaker box was full. They also replaced two light switches and a defective outlet. All of this was done within one hour.

 + -1 moreRyan arrived a few minutes late but more than make up for it on the 2 hour job. He is very quick and professional on the electrical work. His ladder is a tad bit short which make it more effort on the ceiling fan installation but he was able to overcome the obstacle and get the job done nicely. Very easy to communicate with and provide useful tips on future projects.
Description of Work: Replace broken ceiling fan on 13' tall ceiling and wiring up four can lights and one ceiling fan box.

By 11am, Current had two friendly and professional individuals at my house for a free estimate. They added a grounding wire to the exterior of the house and brought things up to code. They were fast and efficent. Excellent work at a great price!

 + -1 moreTwo switches for our hallway lights were not working. The electrician used a 1.5 hour to figure out what was wrong and fix one of the two light switches. I felt that things were moving too slowly. He could not explain fully why the other switch could not be fixed other than that there might be a problem with the wiring. There were a lot of cut electrical wires left on the hallway carpet, which I cleaned up. Our dimmer switch for our dining room was not working. I explained that it was not the bulbs. He still tested the bulbs and came to the same conclusion. Then determined that it was the wrong type of dimmer switch. He did not have another with him so he changed it for a regular switch. The regular switch is a different color than what the dimmer switch was (almond instead of white). I put on the plate cover around the switch to speed things up.
Description of Work: Fixed two of three switches that were not working.

 + -1 moreIt went perfectly. Steve Saltzman was able to pull the old unit down without any damage to the drywall. He then installed the replacement unit. The teaar out and the reinstallation had to be done from the inside of the drywall. He was quite neat. He cleaned up all of the insilation and shop vacummed the entire area. He was most polite and friendly.
Description of Work: Replaced a defunct bathroom ceiling venelator. The unit was in a place that could not be accessed in the attic. After he finished the ventilator installation I asked if he could check the attic fans to be sure the settings thermostats and humiidistats (if they existed).

 + -1 moreWe were very impressed with the young man and his work ethic. He came in and got right to work. He was enthusiastic and moved efficiently from project to project. When he needed to go out to his truck for tools or supplies he moved quickly as not to waste our time with him. We certainly felt like we got our money's worth. We would certainly call on them again.
Description of Work: Changed out an outlet from 220v to 110v, changed out a bad electrical switch, replaced a plug and installed a timer switch for outdoor lighting. We also had him attempt to install a timer on the light switch in the old part of the house but the timer I had purchased wouldn't work with the 1920 wiring in our house. We were aware ahead of time that this might be the case.

Steve (the technician) called early in the morning, apologizing he was delayed and would be coming later than originally scheduled and would call again when he was headed our way. And he did. After arriving, we discussed the problem and he began troubleshooting. Found problem right away. He openly discussed the situation, showed me the problem and what was needed to be done to correct. After repairing, he ensured everything was in good working order. He also suggested several upgrades/improvements that could be made on a future service call (couldn't be done at this time since he didn't have the needed materials). Will definitely use this provider again. Highly recommended.

 + -1 moreService tech was great and professional giving good advice. The problem I have is that they used the promotional 2 hours of labor for the time to come out and give me a quote. They didn't even do any work aside from the quote. I have other technicians come out for free quotes. I want the 2 hours credit I paid for to go towards the work performed, or at least give me 90 minutes credit since the quote only took 30 minutes.
Description of Work: Gave a quote for installing a 50 amp breaker and running an underground cable to the back yard for an RV hookup.
