Business owner Homer Wood requested and received an advance of $1800 to purchase material prior to beginning work. A work crew of three men led by Mr.Wood arrived two days later and removed the damaged roof. It was then discovered that the material purchased was unsuitable and work was delayed while the correct material was brought from Birmingham. Once the proper materials were available work proceeded normally. Before beginning work and receiving any payment , Mr. Wood signed a contract describing the work to be done and giving December 31, 2009 as the lates date for completion of all work. The contract stipulated that a "boot" was to be installed where hoses and electrical cables penetrated the roof to prevent leaking at that site. Without consulting me, Mr. Wood substituted an expanding foam material for the prescribed "boot". The foam used allowed the roof to leak profusely. Notified of this, Mr. Wood on two occasions promised to return and correct the problem. As of the time of this writhing (January 20, 2010) he has not returned and the roof continues to leak..
