Sears Hometown Store

I researched and decided what I wanted and then discovered that it wasn't available locally. Anyone could order it but I still hadn't seen it. I researched more and found the lowest price was an online-only retailer who was able to offer it for just under $4000 and include delivery and installation services on our end. I've used that retailer before and had success, but I wanted to keep the dollars local if possible, so I visited our local Sears store to ask about their best price. They came in a little higher, we had to wait a little longer. But they've made efforts to be helpful. Our first shipment was picked up at the store, but once here and unpacked it was discovered that the refrigerator and stove were both damaged. They reordered them and we waited another few weeks. Then they delivered those replacements to our house. The refrigerator was in good shape, but the stove was still damaged. But we really needed a stove and waiting wasn't a great option. The owner came out to our house, said we should install the damaged stove as scheduled and he'd order it's replacement and have an installer switch it out once the replacement arrived. It's been three weeks, we still have a damaged stove since they are now backordered, but we are functional - just wanting one that isn't damaged. I think they've given it good effort and I still have hope they will complete the job to our satisfaction.
