Description of Work: Unlike Lowes or Home Depot, Wilson's Lumber is much more personalized. We not only got excellent service but also expert advice. Wilson's also had the siding we needed, in stock, that was only available at Lowe's or Home Depot by special order.

Description of Work: We got a bid from them. It was to install a door.

Description of Work: I almost built my entire 3500 sq ft house with Wilson Lumber supplied materials and services. It is really a surprise to see all the other things they can do outside of just lumber, doors and windows. Like closets, cabinets, decks, and exterior siding. They have a wide variety to meet all types of needs. Like nice and expensive higher end pieces to middle of the road and still good quality. Except my plumbing, electrical, and flooring, all was pretty much provided by them. They have a great showroom and excellent sales staff. They was not always the cheapest on every item but I was willing to give and take to have that assurance I would be taken care of. I found out about them by word of mouth, and so I had them price everything I could in my house. After we started, I knew I would be taking care of, on any of their materials they provided.

Description of Work: Purchased replacement French Door for the bedroom. The door was 1 inch shorter than the measurements provided. The Sales Rep told me it was, but stated the installer could "compensate" for the error. The composite frame was gouged and filled with putty. I have since corrected it by doing a better repair job than they did. The original sliding screen that was delivered was too long (obviously, because they built the door too short). After four subsequent attempts to provide a functional sliding screen, they left one at the house. They were instructed to call before attempting delivery. The screen they left was a USED screen, filthy with dust, paint scrapes exposing the bare aluminum, warped frame, and did not fit when I tried to install it. After observation, I noticed 2 of the four rollers would not retract into the frame. I freed up the rollers and was able to get mount it on the door track. The screen frame was not parallel to the door frame (bowed) thus providing entrance for bugs, negating the purpose of the screen. I left a voice message with the Sales Rep two days ago, but haven't heard anything since. I have contested the purchase with American Express, so I will receive satisfaction through them, if not Wilson Lumber. Update: The Manager at Wilson Lumber called me the day after I submitted this report and stated he would personally see that the problem was corrected. Today, July 12, 2011, they delivered a new door. It was perfect. This solved the ongoing problem, but it is unfortunate that the manager had to become involved (and I told him that) to solve the problem. For, that reason, I am not changing any ratings previously provided.
