+ -1 moreTerrible, like a nightmare. Yes they "fixed" damage, but I now have filled new floors, filled new baseboard and walls. Furniture was repaired mostly. Refrigerator we received credit for. If I wanted my belongs abused I would of hired the neighborhood kids for a lot less. There is nothing this company can do to ever earn our business again. We used them twice in the past and they were top notch. Brought in one box at a time. Unloading 120 boxes at that rate is crazy. Just read the owners response. Just plain crazy. They did not have the top of my bookcase fall, they dropped it on three other pieces of the unit, which by the way are antiques. They put a hole in the wall, took out a chunk of my new 3/4 inch hardwood, and took out a large piece of the baseboard. They also damaged the refrigerator, a cherry sofa table. After we settled with them we found they also broke our antique bed and our 50" flat screen TV. As for not paying before damage was fixed, what CRAZY person would pay a bill when the damage was more than the bill. We just wanted this company to go away. NEVER use them. HORRIBLE experience and we had to PAY for someone to come in and redo the floor and baseboard. The companies "fix" was to putty the floor and baseboard. What a joke. This was a nightmare from the start. Workers seemed VERY lost and disorganized, I had to tell them how to wrap and move things. Not enough workers for the job and they were tired and in a hurry to leave. I had just told the worker not to lift the cabinet by himself because of the weight, left the room and then the bomb went off. Owner failed to mention all the damage to the other pieces and the extent of the damage to the DROPPED piece. I cannot believe they got a service award, shows what faith we have in Angies List.
Description of Work: Moved us 5 miles. Moved a whole house minus the garage and outside furniture(which was in the estimate), which we moved ourselves. Final bill was almost $700 more than the estimate. CRAZY, why do a estimate. They saw the furniture and estimated the right amount of boxes. Damaged furniture, refrigerator, brand new hardwoods, brand new baseboard and walls.

+ -1 moreLousy. Never use them again. Should have went with prior two Men that moved me from Moving Help.com. Not willing to compromise offering a reasonable return of funds. The two boys were lazy and careless. Very disappointed. I decided to go with the Two Men and A Truck, because everyone I spoke to had a good experience and was surprised I had this happen. They all said it should have been about a 4 hour job not 9. One of the maintenance men at my new complex said he observed them move someone into a 3 floor apartment, 2 bedroom in 3 hours. He commented I must of had two lazy boys. Exactly my feelings.
Description of Work: First of all I called to schedule a move on a 3 bedroom apt. described what was to be moved. I then called them back because I had enlisted some movers prior to my move to come and move some boxed and some furniture hoping to reduce the cost. They moved the bulk of my belongings plus two of the beds in two rooms, dresser, and storage cabinet. I called Two Men and a Truck to let them know I had reduced the original list of belongings to be moved to essentially an almost 2 bedroom. I had livingroom furniture, washer/dryer, one armoire for my computer and one for storage, entertainment center, less than ten boxes, my bedroom furniture, one dresser, two small night stands, and one bookcase, small freezer. They charged me for 9 hours totally ridiculous. I received two boys that were lazy, took their time, and gouged the walls in my new apartment, lost the leg on my dryer told me to put a phone book under the dryer to compensate for the leg. My keys got locked in the truck one of the last boxes they put in and they did not want to open up the truck so I can get my car keys instead called a locksmith costing me $50. The company did refund the $50 and replaced the leg which they found under the dryer when they came with a new leg. They did find handles left on the truck to a exercise machine I had also and returned them. They tried to move my bed (king size) over, due to the fact it was impairing a dresser drawers to be adequately opened. They started to move it over with box springs in the frame which were causing the stabilizing pegs to bend and possibly break, when objecting one of the movers tried to tell me they were meant to bend. I said no I don't think so and made them take the mattresses out and move the frame. I then put the pegs in the right position. It was obvious these guys were lazy and did not care for my furniture. My niece was there and observed them several times just talking wasting time on the truck. I had several witnesses as to the extent of my furniture left to move and could not believe the cost charged by Two Men and a Truck to move my stuff. They are unwilling to return but 1 hour and a quarter of my money so I am taking this to small claims court and putting in a dispute with my bank. I had two men move a packed 14 foot truck prior to this move they took 4 hours and only charged me $140 and worked steady well worth the cost. This was ridiculous and too expensive for what was to be moved will never use them again.

They didn't drag anything. They were quick and efficient. They estimated a 3 hour move, and they did it in less than 3 hours. It didn't seem like they took any shortcuts. They moved it better than I did. They were punctual. They were experienced. They were professional. They were training other guys at the same time. It was really cool, the way they worked.

+ -1 moreI almost want to knock one of the ratings down so it doesn't look like I just rushed through the rating and review, but I can't in good conscience reduce any of the components. They were excellent in all areas. Although my wife and I are still youngish (29), I've yet to have a better experience with a company. My wife and I hired Two Men & A Truck to move our 3 bedroom apartment (on third floor) in Madison, AL to our new home in Somerville, AL. The estimate / quote stage was simple; I spoke with a rep over the phone who took an inventory of what each room contained and took care to ask about potentially uncommon, oversized, or special handling type items (piano, large mirrors, large televisions,etc.). I liked the quote and hired them. I panicked the night before when we ran out of boxes, but a simple phone call had the movers bringing boxes with them and we packed odds and ends while the movers worked. The three men arrived, verified all details (destination, another review of quote to make sure everything was understood), made a quick plan about when and how to load irregularly sized or fragile items. They packed the truck carefully and quickly and drove slow enough that I got frustrated following them and went on. They arrived and put down plastic runners to avoid soiling the carpet. They unloaded the truck and staged all furniture where we requested. They even moved several items that didn't fit where we'd intended or didn't look right in the room. They assembled all beds and tables. They unfurled area rugs and re-staged furniture as needed (e.g. dining room table). We've all heard the stories about movers breaking things and being inconsiderate with your belongings, or dealing with rude and unprofessional employees, but I now know that those folks were not using Two Men & A Truck. Give them a call - you won't regret it. *I have no financial connection to Two Men & A Truck, other than as a satisfied customer.*
Description of Work: Detailed estimate of costs. Provided (and delivered) packing materials at my request. Pleasant, professional movers. No breakage. A great experience.

They pretty much did a great job. They were on time and took care of all of our things. They did not damage anything and set everything up. They took all the boxes into each room that they were supposed to go. They were very quick and we were very satisfied with the job that they did. They were local and they seemed to have the best prices. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

+ -1 moreI’ve used them several times and I’m very pleased with their services. They didn’t have to truck the furniture to move. The job went very well. They have a really good crew out there to take care of it. I think that they’re reasonable. I think that they’re the right group. They seem to have good strong people working for them and they’re very careful with their work. They come with experience and I’ve just been fortunate I guess that I have them. Every time they seem to come out, they seem to have a big crew and don’t seem to struggle with the heavy stuff. They’re right up and take them all out. I will use their services again in the future.

They were walking by holding their pants up with one hand and they wanted to move my furniture but I said no. I basically fired them. They were awful and pathetic. I basically told them to turn around and that they would not be touching my things. So, they left. I was desperate because I had already hired the rental truck and I had hired them to load the rental truck for me. I then called Two Men And A Truck and they sent somebody over for me that afternoon. I called them back and told them as well. They came in while these other people were arguing on how they wanted to load my truck and I had told them what I wanted on there. I thought that they were good. They were not even supposed to be working that afternoon as they wanted to watch the football game which I don't blame them for because I was freaking out by watching all of that. They were wonderful. They helped me out a lot. They came in and worked. I said to them that it was all the money that I had and told them to walk over there and do the job. They did a great job. I would like to grade them as the best. It hurt but their price was reasonable. Their price was in par with everybody else.

+ -1 moreContacted company on the 15th of October for a move date of October 29th. The earliest an estimator could get there was the 21st, but the office manager assured me they would reserve the truck in order to meet the move date. Cue the estimator on the 21st, very professional, did a great job of explaining the services. He left to provide the estimate, and I get a quick call back that the office manager did not remember to reserve the truck for the 29th. Big issue. The estimator made every effort to provide a work around, even to the point of loading up a day early when a truck was available. Eventually the best option for us was to postpone the move until the 1st. The only reason the above ratings are less than 5 is due to that single mix-up. The proposal was professional, and reasonable. Billing was done based on an hourly rate plus fuel charge, which was very easy to understand. Cancellation charge (if we canceled less than 48 hours prior) was two hours. The movers themselves were fantastic! They were careful of our property, polite, professional, with great attitudes. By the time of the actual move, I had rented a U-haul and moved all of the boxed items myself, leaving only larger bulky items for the team. They jumped on it, moved the remaining items, and because they bill by the hour I saved some money (if not my back). I would recommend this firm without any reservation for future moves.
