Spectacular experience! I needed a crew to move the contents of a storage unit to my new home 170 miles away with delivery scheduled the next day. They showed on time and we’re done loading in 90 minutes - the decision was then made to go ahead and deliver the same day. Crew showed at the delivery location on time and downloaded the truck in 90 minutes…. 3 guys/1 truck for what was anticipated to be a two day job. The end result was that it saved us money. The guys were professional and cordial and weren’t afraid to work. 10/10 would hire again!

The move went great. The TSU team was very responsive and punctual. Even though there were a few hickups, there were a few obstacles on my end - Example, since the move was on a Saturday outside our normal biz hours, some of the doors were locked that are usually open which were a bit of a hurdle for movers; however, they overcame and were extremely polite and efficient. didn't seem to slow them down any. The delivery to our new location went smooth and they went above and beyond to get furniture in and set up in a timely manner, without sacrificing safety. They job was actually a little bit bigger than they expected but they overcame that with professionalism. Great team of people. Highly recommend them for any moves commercial or personal. Moving is a tough job but they really did a good job an I'll definitely use them again in the future.

I need to up date my review. The owner did contact me. He asked if he replaced my washing machine would I remove my review. I told him I would. He meet me at Home Depot where I had purchased my washer and dryer three months prior to our meeting. He was very upset that the washer was no longer on sale. I paid $600 on sale, and it is normally $800. He spoke with the store manager to see if he would give him the machine for the sale price. The manager of Home Depot said no. The owner of This Side Up Movers looked me in my face and told me he would contact Home Depot's home office (he was convinced that they should / would give him the washer for the sale price) and get this resolved. The owner of This Side Up Movers looked me in my face, shook my hand and promised he would not let this drag out and we would have it resolved asap. He lied!!! It's been over a month since he "promised" me he would make this right. Now he is back to not taking, or returning my calls.

Highly recommend This Side Up. This past Friday they did a local move for me in 3 hours that would have taken me all weekend. The crew did a great job. Last time I used them was in 2012, and they have gotten even better since then!

After a Movie Shoot at my house, Zero Productions and myself representing them paid them $11,000 for a floor refinishing pack out and pack back in. An estimate on the job was requested and the estimate was paid in advance with assurances that only actual time would be charged. They were paid to move a piano and did not have the correct tools for the job ending up using a steel hammer on the piano legs and a furniture dolly instead of a piano dolly which they did not have. Damages to the piano Leg and another Vase were not addressed even after they noted them as being damaged. They were paid to restore all items to their exact previous location but failed to take enough pictures in order to accomplish that task. They were paid to remove all the boxes when finished, instead all the boxes and trash was left in my garage and I ended up having to throw it away after they committed to come back and get them and failed to do so. They also overcharged the number of hours by about 20% at $240 an hour, which totaled around $2000. A Refund check was requested to issue back to Zero Productions that paid for it and it was refused by the owner (Colby) followed by fabricated time sheets to justify the refusal. The Executive Producer and I were shocked that Colby was willing to risk his business reputation by overcharging.

The moving guys called me ahead of time to let me know when they would arrive. The person in the office quoted four guys at 8 hours based on the size of my home. They guys showed up and went right to work. Wrapping all of the furniture and loading it in the truck. The movers were Joey Walker, Payton G, Jessie, and Maurice and they worked quickly and efficiently. They were efficient and courteous, and I was very happy with their service. They were able to complete my move in 6 hours.

My name is Lorenzo. I got my three quotes and did my homework. I have had twenty-seven moves in my life. My father was in the Air Force and I was in the Active Army. In the Army I was in a RDF Units my whole career. As the Load Master I packed 2.5 Ton, 5 Ton, Tracker and Trailer and mobile hospitals, HHB HHT, HHC Equipment to be trucked, Air lifted and shipped anywhere are the world. If equipment was not packed correctly I was responsible and there was no insurance. If I was messed up it would cost be two months’ half pay. I also made three moves myself with two 29-foot U Haul truck from Fort Leavenworth Kansas to Fort Lee Virginia with a home that was 5200 sq. ft. with excess in our VAN and POV Truck. Local move In Madison City to Madison City from a 5 BDM 4000 sq. ft. to a 3BDM 1550 sq. ft. home. Half of the furniture went to storage. I will rate them in seven areas.1. Customer Service, 2. Safety, Body Mechanic when lifting, 3. care of fragile, 5. damage to floor and walls, value for the move Customer Service A-. The team worked very well together, second to none. They never complained in my present. Some of the pieces of furniture was solid oak. I explained to the reception when describing the furniture and she said the crew would be able to handle it. I asked if three would be enough. She assumes that they are professional and would be able to handle it. SAFETY: My rating on safety is a A+. Body Mechanic: They used good body mechanic when lifting to prevent harm to themselves. Damage to content in boxes: C rating, Most people know that you hand carry china or then using a moving dolly you go up and down stair with care. You use a heavier box when packing. And use bubble or crumble box padding at the bottom of the box. I pointed out to the moves that you cannot bounce china, and fragile items. They will break. But of course, after they moved the senior person stated that they are not responsible for anything they did not pack, and they are not liable. My rating on damage to home is a C. The apartment the professional was full of energy and more careful. But by the time they got to the more expensive 5-bedroom home with hard wood floors, it showed that they were tired and began to make miss stakes. The hall way prior to going upstairs is a staging area and the pantry next to the hall way is also. This area was horrible damage to the hard wood floors. All the wood floors run from end to end without seam rom room to room. The team all should know that you do not drag metal on hardwood floors or push wood furniture on wood without scratching it. The home is over four thousand sq. ft. and only about the small area of hard wood of about 49 sq. ft. is damage very bad and must be replace. Value: is also a C rating. I showed the lead the area and furniture that must be moved and I made sure all them knew before they started and I explained the number of men I use to move into the home. The truth is that the men did a great job loading the furniture quickly in just under four hours. Then they had lunch. After lunch in about two hours I could see that they men were tired, and miss stakes were being made. They moved a lot slower, the second half of the trip and you should see where that fourth man was needed, but was not given. No matter how slow or tired the men move the company makes more money even if the men are just doing tire to go on. I planned for about six of money because and my two sons did the same move one year earlier, also just three of us. No furniture or damage to our homes and done it in less than eight hours and we packed the boxes also. The did not have to pack one single box. Again, the men did not have to pack one single box. And I was charged 9.25 hours. That is a shame and a rip off. There is no reason why they needed nine hours other than the fact that the afternoon the men was tire and because to make miss stakes and the price they charge is not less and the damage to my hardwood floor was also because they were tired. Conclusion: I did not believe it was possible for three men to move my furniture. The packing was inside the truck I give a B+, they ran out of room and about one tenth of the apartment I carried with four trips by car. I also had a storage until that I wanted to be moved. They were dog gone tire and moving slow and not matter how slow they moved because they were tire I would be charged. The 9 hours I was charged should have included my storage until, but because they were tired and it was impossible to get my storage until of 5x 10 feet. “I Would not recommend use of this company for move. Profit is key here and no matter how under man they are, the company charges by the hour. The customer is the loser. This is the true as I stand before a Holly God.

This Side up Moving was prompt in their arrival to my home, on a relatively short notice moving requirement. The team-lead took a tour of each room and made brief notes about furniture that would be transported. The 3 movers were friendly, skilled, motivated, and efficient. The owner, Colby Robinson, will accommodate all customers and his pricing is exceptionally reasonable. It was a relief to be able to use this company and know that we wouldn’t have to worry about hours of personal labor or truck rentals. This is the third time that I have used This Side up Moving in the last 7 years. I would use them again, while also recommending them to anyone else who has moving needs.

Our move went very smoothly, and the movers were hard working, polite, and professional! All of our items were wrapped/packed and loaded carefully and securely, and the team worked extremely well together to ensure that none of our belongings were damaged. When we arrived at our new home, our heavy furniture was put in its proper place so that we were not left to rearrange anything. This made our unpacking process simple and painless. I highly recommend this company, and will not hesitate to use them for all of my moving needs in the future!

. . It was a nightmare. We've moved a few times, but this was the perfect storm of moving. The boxes were labelled with one of three destinations or contents, so to find anything we had to open literally every box they moved. We have several items damaged during the move. They didn't enough time or experienced workers to move us, so at the end of the day, they began throwing boxes and were more careless than originally. they neglected to move about a 40 by 40 foot trailer's worth of items, which we had to pay someone else to move. They significantly damaged the walls of the stairwells. We had a painter repair their damage. They were very young and quite inexperienced. The same people packed us as moved us. A bunch of men packed us and very little was padded in the boxes. In my experience, moving companies always sends women to pack, as they have an innate sense of wrapping glasses and dishware sufficiently to survive a move. Thes boys threw boxes off the back of the truck and other boys caught them and stacked them where ever they found it to be convenient. It has taken us over a year(we're still at it) of opening and sorting out boxes. We asked for a $3000 refund and the owner agreed with all of our complaints, but begrudgingly gave us our refund. The upshot of our post move conversation with the owner, who never showed up during the move, was that he was aware of his workers deficiencies and yet foisted them on us anyway!!!

This Side Up scheduled the move quickly and they arrived promptly. The movers were professional and friendly. They accidentally left the gate open and our dogs got out, though the dogs were later recovered. There were a few issues with billing through with some follow up were resolved. The movers were willing to work longer than expected and I was grateful for their tenacity as we were able to finish. Overall, I would use them again.

On all three occasions they all showed on time and were ready to work. The third time we called and they were able to get us in within a few hours notice. All of the workers were very friendly, professional, and most importantly got the job done. These guys were great. We asked them to move boxes, furniture, move this here, change this, unload that. They worked their butts off but did a great job. I am so glad we hired them to do all of our heavy lifting and moving. Saved my back and many arguments with the wife. I cannot thank them enough. I would highly recommend them to anyone and would use them again if needed.
Description of Work: We requested two movers on three different occasions. First time was to unload a fully loaded POD and move the household goods into a two story home. They were very quick and did it with ease. Because they did such a great job we hired them the second time. The second time was to unload an Old Dominion trailer to my mother-in-laws house. The trailer was 3/4 full and once again they unloaded it very quickly and with ease. The third time was to unload a 24' truck. Third time was a charm too!

The movers were rough and one in particular was very rude. They did not handle the items with care - like they were in a hurry or running behind. They did not use appliance moving equipment for the large (brand new) stainless steel refrigerator. The two movers lost their grip on it when going down the stairs. The side has two dents now and the owner of the company pulled out his phone to google it and said that dry ice could be used to fix it. They moved our large freezer into our new garage and scraped the newly finished floor with no repair. They moved a large exercise machine and I was told they they would use a piano dolly but they tried it by hand and struggled with it and scraped our new laminate floors from the bedroom, through the hall and living room and out the front door with some of the marks being very deep. The floor had only been down 10 - 11 months and was in pristine condition. We have 4 kids and they never inflicted one scratch because it is laminate but their movers ruined it in 5 minutes. The original installer quoted $872 to repair it (excluding more wood to replace the damaged wood) but the owner thought it was too high and refused to use who we wanted so he brought in an inferior repairman and the floors are horrible. They are now uneven, some broken boards and creaking. This company will not hire a worthy hard word repair service (our original installers) to bring our floors back to how they were. The floors that would be perfect if I would have chosen another company. Also, it has taken 4 months to get to this point and the floors are unacceptable.

I've used This Side Up twice now and have had positive experiences both times. During our most recent move, our movers were very punctual, professional and courteous. They worked quickly but still were very careful with our belongings and kept safety in mind in everything they did. The movers had all the appropriate equipment to protect our furniture as well as the proper padding to ensure the doors and walls in our new home were not dinged or scuffed. The front office was also very helpful as we had a closing date that was moved and they were able to accommodate us.

Granted, I had very little furniture to move, plus a few garage items, and had packed my own boxes. A total of just over 1000 pounds. But they were very fast, efficient, polite, and professional. It was a good service , but the estimate was not correct in reference to time needed to perform the moving. It required more men-power or more time to be done in timely manner. They left our house at midnight!. But I can not complain about the service. It was professional and the price was reasonable.

Overall it went very well. There was a minor hiccup on the arrival time but that was cleared up. Von and Mo did an excellent job. I will definitely use This Side Up Moving again for my moving needs. This could be a nit-pic so take it with a grain of salt, but I noticed that the gentlemen who physically provided the services were almost always on the cell phone, even during moving large pieces of furniture. The job was completed with good quality, and expeditiously, however from a safety and professional standpoint; it might be a consideration to wait until the transistion from the pick up location to the delivery location to use the phone. My 2 cents. Overall This Side Up Moving gets a 94 out of 100. I will definitively use them again.

Moving truck arrived precisely on time and called ahead like they were supposed to, wrapped anything that could get damaged, quote was exactly the amount of time needed to move (no fluff), and the movers were friendly.
Description of Work: Moved all large furniture (sofa, recliner, bed, washer/dryer, dresser, dining room table and chairs) from my 2nd floor apartment to my new house.

In a word... Awesome! The four gentlemen who moved us were punctual, careful and very in-tune with what we wanted and gave us a flawless move. Not a thing was broken (beyond what I broke...). We could have gotten a less costly company but, after reading the Angie's List reviews, seeing the Angie's List discount and researching other online sources, we decided our stuff was worth the difference for peace of mind. They didn't let us down. (Once I find the gents names, I'll post them up, too.) Highly recommended for a no-fuss, no-muss move... Well worth the cost.
Description of Work: Local household move from Huntsville, AL to Priceville, AL. 4BR/3BA, 2,200SF Rancher.

Requested quote received back the same day, price seemed to be competitive. Pricing was carefully explained. Size of truck and number of movers was appropriate for the job. Movers arrived at scheduled time. Carefully wrapped furniture, placed protective blankets around doorways to avoid any wall damage. They were polite, efficient and I would definitely use This Side Up Movers again.
