ShutterLuxe

I contracted with ShutterLuxe in August of 2014 to provide shutters for six windows in my family room. The cost was to be 3,242.75. I paid the initial down payment of 1,621.37 at the time of placing the order. I was told the window treatments would be in in 6-8 wks. By Thanksgiving of 2014 the shutters were not in and I spoke with Rob, the owner of the company, and he said the shutters had been improperly ordered and they would be in by Christmas. When Christmas came and went without the shutters Rob said the shutters came in again but were incorrect. After another six weeks had past, I spoke with Rob again and he said the shutters had been reordered a third time but they were stuck in the port in California due to a shipping labor strike. At this time, he said he was going to refund me my deposit when the shutters did come in and not charge me. I continued to call Rob approximately every six weeks and he always had a reason why my shutters were not in. During the Spring of 2015 I was able to get him to issue me a refund for my deposit. He still insisted that he would get me the shutters. Again I contacted him every four to six weeks to check on progress. In September of 2015, more than a year after placing the initial order, Rob said the shutters would be in in two weeks. After two and half weeks I began calling and leaving messages with Rob. Over the coarse of two weeks I left approximately 5 or 6 messages asking him to return my call. He never did. Finally, I called him from a Florida cell phone and did not leave a message. Within minutes he called me back and asked if I had called him. He was very surprised it was me. When I asked him if he had any intention of getting me the shutters his response was. "you might want to go with someone else". Nearly 15 months of waiting, him having my money for 3/4 of a year and that was his response. I think this speaks to his character and illustrates a total lack of commitment to his word.
