Mako Lawn Care

Unreliable. I have large show dogs and a fenced backyard. Mowers repeatedly left the gates unlatched and the dogs would get out. Thank goodness my dogs come promptly when called, but they easily could have been hit by a car. The mowers were also very messy and would leave huge messes in my front flower beds. When they started doing work, I was very impressed, but after repeatedly leaving gates open, I am done with a company that i cannot trust!

We have been extremely pleased with the quality of service and price. The guys who come out to mow the lawn weekly are quite thorough, edge, always clean up, and even blow leaves in the fall. They did a great job trimming our bushes last fall - and we have a TON of bushes. The owner consulted with us on some remedies for bare, shady spots in the yard. We ended up having some branches cut to let more light in and getting a shade-hardy grass planted in those areas, which is coming in quite nicely. The owner has also consulted on some other items for us and offers an expert opinion without pushing additional services. Highly recommend and foresee using this service for years to come. Cost below is for weekly service; bush trimming and grass seed both came to between $300-$400.

They have excellent customer service. If I ever run in to any issues they take care of it right away. They want to make sure their customers are well taken care of, and I would definitely recommend them to any one who asks!

This company is especially good. I could give them the highest rating I could give them. One of the employee's several years ago hit a rock in my yard and shattered a double pane window the company replaced my window without any discussion. That just shows how accommodating the company is.

Mako was recommended to me by a friend. They did not answer my initial call(s) for an estimate on leaf removal. I finally found an estimate on my front door. The estimate was very reasonable, in fact too low. I called to confirm when they could come. All I could get was a vague time frame. They then showed up without warning. The men worked hard and did a good job on a ton of leaves. They admitted that they underestimated the job, and I agreed to an adjustment in the price. Then I waited for a bill. Then I called. I finally received a call from one partner, who quoted one price. Then I received a call from another partner, who quoted another price. I said fine, send or email me a bill (to both of them). Have called several times, including in the last week. Still no bill and no answer to my phone calls. I would be happy to pay them, with a bill. Would not use them again due to the difficulty in communicating with them.

LAWN SERVICE

MAKO Lawn Care took over when the previous lawn care provider sold out. At first, reading the flyer provided to us by MAKO, informing us they were taking over and nothing would be changed, made us feel confident in this company. We even got a phone call from the owner assuring us they'd be out to our property to do the best job and nothing would change, and whenever we needed them, we should contact them. The problem we had with MAKO was that, with the previous owner, we were getting the property cut every two weeks, or when we needed. We always contacted him and paid in advance, monthly. He never and quot;assumedand quot; our lawn was to be cut at any given time. MAKO, however, took it upon themselves to assume we wanted the property cut bi-weekly (or more frequently). I was shocked when the tenant told me that the lawn was cut, yet again. We didn't tell MAKO to cut it, nor did it even need cutting, because it's coming into Fall, and the grass isn't growing very quickly. Regardless, though. MAKO should have waited for me to contact them. So I called MAKO (David Makowsky) and left a message telling him that I'd pay him the $35 for and quot;another cuttingand quot; but didn't require his company's services again. I got a call back from him several days later, asking me to call him. I won't. I'll send him my check and get someone else to do our lawn care. Also, after reading MAKO's website about their charges of and quot;$30 - $40and quot; for an and quot;average/normal sizeand quot; lawn, now tells me that the charge of $35 from both the previous provided and MAKO is high for the small property I have. Ethically, I think it would have been and quot;niceand quot; if someone would have lowered it. I would have - knowing that I'm paying the same price as someone who has twice the lawn I have. Just my two cents' worth.

I like the way they trim and clean off my sidewalk. They do a good job. I have used them for about three years. My neighbor liked their work so well that she started using them as well.

David Makowski is a very nice small business man. His crews are verypolite and do a fast and good job. I have been having them take care of my lawn since May 2009.

I like him. He does an excellent job mowing my lawn and taking care of it. He definitely does his due diligence.

I use them off and on, not regularly. I use them sporadically, so I haven't gotten to know their services very well.

David Makowski is very good and very punctual. He does basic keep up, but he also does special jobs if you need leaves taken, bushes cut down or the flower bed work. I have a small yard; so it's $30 every time he comes. They do a fantastic job. They are always very punctual. They come every two weeks the way I want them to. Their trimming and edging are both fantastic. I have never seen anybody like them and I can't say enough about them. If there is something that's not right, they make it right.
