Overall, the job went very well. This contractor was recommended to us by a friend. I spoke with four different contractors and received estimates. I was expecting this one to be the highest and thought he sounded the most knowledgeable. Suprisingly, his quote came in at the lowest and since I felt the most comfortable with his abilities and knowledge, we went with him. Most of the work was done by his workers but James checked in almost daily. The project dragged out a little longer than we or he wanted due to a worker's illness. Overall, we are very happy with the work done and with the cost. Our only complaint was that communication sometimes lacked. We made several calls that were not returned by James but we understood that he was very busy. Calls made to the company secretary were generally returned quickly but messages through her were sometimes misunderstood. James demonstrated to us that he wanted us to be happy with his work and that he wanted everything to be done the best that it could be. He very obviously cared about the quality of the work and if something wasn't perfect, he sent someone back to fix it. We would definitely recommend James Hill to friends and if we have another job come up, he will be the first contractor we call.
