I made an appointment for after 2pm on Monday 3/16. After not hearing from the company by 3:30, I called and got their answering service. The technician called me back a few minutes later and stated that the appointment was for after 2 pm and that he would arrive after he competed his current appointment. When I asked how much longer, he stated he did not know. I then asked why he did not bother to notify me that he was running so late ... his response was that he no longer felt that he needed to give me an estimate and would not be coming. I am impressed that this company has enough business that they do not need to worry about customer service with potential customers.

It was free because we re-upped the service in the Fall. We always pay for it again for the year in the Fall. It includes two services, one in the Spring and one in the Fall as well as the filter replacement for our unit.

He changed out the parts and fixed a pipe for excess water discharge, that was leaking. They really work with the customer on what they are doing and why and what it is costing. Great company. Would use them again.

Huntsville Heating and Cooling has been maintaining my units since i bought the house. At that time, the existing units were nearing their expected life. They continued to function for another 6 years, until the downstairs compressor required replacement. I decided to replace both at the same time. Quote was very competitive, all agreed work was completed in the time estimated, and the team was courteous and kept work areas clean.

Bought a Honeywell programmable t-stat from a local retailer. Installed it per instructions, after phone conversation with manufacturer to make sure I understood what was expected. I still managed not to install properly. Called HH&C, based on word of mouth referral from a neighbor. Got prompt call-back; technician showed up as promised. Was appreciative of his lack of attitude at cleaning up my amateur wiring. HHC tech then made sure the t-stat functioned with my system as intended and that the system worked properly.

Went fine. No complaints at all. They estimated 1.5 days so I waited until pleasant fall weather for the work. Noticed the following day they gave me a standard thermostat (I had a programmable one for the old system). When I called they explained the new, updated, system wasn't compatible with the old thermostat. They came out again and installed a compatible programmable one for $50.00 (this fee covered the unit AND the visit to the home.) The new one is state of the art - much better than the one with my old system. I like these guys a lot.

Overall, we were satisfied with Huntsville Heating & Cooling. We had a few minor problems. For one, they installed the new unit on the old pad, but the drain was too low, so they wanted to just dig a trench and put the drain in the trench. I told them that wouldn't work because the drain would just get clogged up. So, they put a pre-cast pad on top of the old one and reset the unit at no additional charge. The other problem we encountered was in the crawl space. They had to put in a crossover box to bring the new return duct over the supply duct, which they did. The problem was that the crossover box was made of uninsulated sheet metal. A cold, uninsulated metal box in a crawl space in Alabama is going to generate a lot of moisture in a crawlspace. To be fair, I never brought the issue up with the company, I just insulated the box myself. Other than those two issues, we were pleased with their work.

Installing technicians did a professional job, with exception of not connecting an attic AC drain line properly which was not discovered until unit was in operation. It was repaired by Company, but caused ceiling damage which owner repaired. Temperature sensing unit for attic HVAC unit heat pump lock-out did not function properly. Company attempted to repair each time owner called, but was unsuccessful each time; unit was finally replaced by an outside sensor. Owner changed to a different company for annual service.

It went very well. I called, we went over the types of units available; they helped me make a decision; they showed up when they said they would, and they installed the unit. I highly recommend this company.

Another company gave me an estimate of $560. Their price was great! They were very professional. They came out the day I called and got the job done. They were quick and got the job done well. I would use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.

First visit...During a cold snap, we called Huntsville Heating and Cooling when we found that the heat strips were not coming on. Since it was cold, we opted to have an after-hours appointment. They got here slightly past 5 and reconnected the heat strips (suspect the alarm company accidentally knocked them out). They also cleaned up most of the blown insulation that fell down when they went up into the attic. Although technically after hours, they did not charge us extra. Second visit... The a/c unit would not come on. They came out after hours (approx 7:30) and found the issue (wire to outdoor unit cut).
