+ -1 moreThey showed up on time, did a great job, cleaned up thoroughly, and were very nice and polite. We are Comfort Club members so they are our heating and cooling specialists. We bought both our upstairs and downstairs heat pumps from these people when they were All Seasons One Hour Heating and Air. The company was sold to Hiller and it seems like they are doing the same great job as before. As members, we pay a monthly fee for each unit and so we get a twice-a-year inspection/tune up. Now that they are owned by Hiller, the membership covers heating/cooling, plumbing, and electrical. So far, we have only used the heating/cooling services.
Description of Work: Old air ducts were removed and new air ducts were installed in our attic for the heating and cooling system for our second floor.

+ -1 moreI would say with my new system, they were the best price out of the entire estimate I got. There were just minor adjustments, but I think that is normal once they put the system in. So, the quality is good.
Description of Work: I had them do normal service. The last time they came out was just for a cleaning and a check of the system. I am a club member for them. So, they come twice a year to check the system, clean it, and make sure that everything is working okay.

The subcontarctor they hired was unable to complete the job as originally proposed in their contract with me, so in order for me to hire a contractor Hiller did in fact reduce their plumbing repairs fees in order to make up the differnce in cost of their subcontractor and the contractor that I have hired. I feel this was in good faith and a smart business move on Hiller's Part, again I am a Happy Hiller Customer.
Description of Work: *** UPDATE *** Hiller has reduced their price to assist me with finnishing my bathroom floor project. The subcontarctor Hiller hired was unable to complete the job as originally proposed in their contract with me, so in order for me to hire a contractor Hiller did in fact reduce their plumbing repairs fees in order to make up the differnce in cost of their subcontractor and the contractor that I have hired. I feel this was in good faith and a smart business move on Hiller's Part, again I am a Happy Hiller Customer. My original call to Hiller was to repair my leaking toilet seal and replace the bathroom sub-floor. Upon inspection, the contract was written to replace my sub-floor and brace floor joists to support new flooring, complete replacement of water lines and drains under the house. The Hiller project manager sold me on replacing all plumbing lines and drains under the house with up to date weather resistance lines. Although the price was much higher than other estimates I opted to go with Hiller as I have used their services in the past and have been satisfied, also the fact that their contract came in lower on replacement of the sub-flooring along with the plumbing, I felt it worked out pretty fair. After working towards payment options with Hiller and being approved through their suggested finance company, I was contacted by the Hiller Project Manager that their Sub-Contractor was unable to complete the Sub-flooring repairs as stated in the contract and that I should reduce the loan to reflect and only pay for the plumbing. This is not satisfactory due to as I previously stated the plumbing was beyond my initial problem and only considered having the extra work and paying the higher plumbing rate because the fairness of the flooring price and the quoted timeframe in which the job was promised to be completed. Today I spoke with the Hiller Billing Department and the Project Manager as to how they will compensate me for the difference in the new and much higher quotes that I am getting for replacement of the sub-flooring, not to mention the timeframe is about a month delayed. In good faith, I’m awaiting their response.

+ 0 moreI had already gotten several quotes and wanted another. Mr Crook got back and quoted me approx $4500 over the cost of the unit. I already knew the exact model I wanted and had done all the research. When I pointed this out he said he might be able to match my other quote which was $2550 less. How is that possible if they are being fair to begin with? A package unit involves very little labor because everything is in the box outside except the thermostat, so where was this extra cost going? Sheet metal? Fitting the duct back together? possibly a new thermostat wire? A new shut off breaker? All of that was included in my other quotes from reputable companies. I am sure there will be some response from them added, but nothing is going to justify the way they try to rip people off who do not get multiple quotes.
Description of Work: Quoted me for replacing a small 2.5 ton package heat pump that had gone out. Talked about how they have a better labor warranty than most people. I find it odd that they brag about their shiny clean new vans on their hold recording as if thats something a consumer looking for the best deals actually cares about.

+ -1 moreA technician came out Saturday morning and diagnosed a broken compressor however, could not provide a cost estimate at the time for repairing it, he was only able to provide cost of complete heat pump replacement at the time. The technician was great, he explained the issue and even showed me what should be happening with the unit versus what was happening. The only reasons I did not choose Hiller to complete the service were they were the most expensive quote of 3 I received for repair or replacement, They could not complete the service for a few days, and I did not receive the final price quote on compressor repair/replacement until early afternoon on Monday. Had Hiller gotten back to me sooner with price quotes I might have chosen them.
Description of Work: I contacted Hiller to diagnose an issue with my heat pump late Friday evening.

+ 1 moreWe pay the monthly fee and this allows us to have 3 different inspections conducted throughout the year - HVAC, electrical and plumbing. It was during the plumbing inspection that we asked that the shower be checked because the control handle wasn't working properly. We also had a new faucet installed in the bathroom sink. We have been extremely pleased with all aspects of the service and work performed. So fart we have had all inspections except the electrical.
Description of Work: During the routine inspection of plumbing he checked our tub and determined that the water pressure was set too high and caused a problem with the on-off handle. He adjusted the pressure and replaced a broken piece inside of the handle to shower.

The Techs came out and inspected my system that was 12 years old and determine that the unit was broken and need to be replaced, they had a service specialist out in less than 45 minutes and advise as to what my options were and there recommendations. They sent a service crew to come out with a new unit the next day and it was installed and running. I would recommend Hiller and will be using them for all my future HVAC service needs.

+ 2 moreThe team arrived on time as promised and started the project. David and Greg wasted no time pulling out the old system and begin the installation of the new. They had to cut holes through the walls in multiple locations for drainage, air flow and connection to gas, and outside. They completed the major installation late in the day, there was a scheduling snafu with the electrician that was supposed to show and install the additional electrical for the units, so we ran some electrical cords to supply electricity until that could be accomplished. David suggested that we needed a bigger gas meter and walked me through the initial steps of calling Atmos (the customer has to do this), and then he coordinated with his office to get the ball rolling on that portion of the project. The electrician was supposed to arrive the next morning to complete his install, but somewhere in communication that did not happen, called Hiller and they apologized for the mix up and had an electrician out that afternoon and completed his install - while he was there we had him add an additional outlet in our bonus room, and he was happy to do so. Next Hiller had all of the inspections planned, coordinated with Atmos and rescheduled David back on site to complete the meter upgrade, the connections to the new systems, and to finalized all of the install. Once all of that was complete we received a call from their "finish" guy who schedule with us to arrive on site and repair all of the drywall, properly seal all of the exterior pipes and caulk all of the necessary connections going into the house, then he offered to paint all of the walls, but those were being painted the next week so we told him not to bother. All in all a great experience with a major project. While we have used another competitor to Hiller for many years and their quote was much higher than Hiller, proposing a product that was not as highly rated (per Consumers Reports), as Hiller and projected to take longer for install. We have been very loyal to one of their local competitor for over 15 years, I think that Hiller has just replaced them as our go to for these types of issues!
Description of Work: Replaced a gas tank water heater with a tankless one, adding a water pressure regulator and installing a Water conditioning and purification system.

Felt kind of taken advantage of on the price though- $320 for a 20 minute installation of a $20 part... Was quoted $6,000-$8,000 if I wanted a new system. Amazon will deliver those systems to my home for $2,000-$3,000, and surely I can get someone to install it for less than $4,000-$5,000. I can't recommend Hiller except in emergencies. Understand that is due to their pricing model alone.

From the first contact where a real person, who was friendly and knowledgeable, answered the phone to the very end when we finally had cold air again the entire process was smooth and professional. Unbeknownst to us when we called it turned out that our AC system had a very complicated repair that would require parts being ordered. Our system was almost new (3 years old) and the technician actually took the time to find out if the parts were under warranty (they were!) before coming to tell us what was wrong with it thus saving us hundreds of dollars. Then he explained the procedures that would be needed to repair it (a very long process) and he had a price quote that was exactly what we did pay when the whole repair was completed. It took the technician almost 5 hours in our attic (with a blow torch even) on one of the hottest days of the year and yet he remained friendly and courteous and always took the time to put on his little yellow booties before coming into the house. The work he did even has a one year warranty. We are so impressed with this company that we signed up for a yearly service plan with them. I can't imagine not calling them if something goes wrong again and will happily recommend them to anyone in need of service.

Hiller's project manager, Michael Crook, came out the same day that we called and spent significant time with us to determine what would best suit our needs. Long story short, Hiller's bid was less than the competition and contained more benefits. The unit was installed yesterday by Eric and Tim, and it went flawlessly. They were on time, neat and very respectful of us and our home. And the good news is that the unit works perfectly. We are very pleased with Hiller and as a result of our last two experiences with them, have become members of the Happy Hiller Club and will use the company for all or our plumbing, electrical and HVAC needs.

This project began with a very slow, problematic drain which turned into a total repiping when the offending pipe was revealed to be highly corroded (the house is 48 years old) We decided that it was time to replace the old cast iron pipes. The senior project manager came out and did a thorough examination of the situation and provided us a most reasonable estimate that same day. The work was scheduled for the following Saturday and the crew arrived at the appointed time, with a call ahead to let us know they were on their way. The three man crew was as neat as one could be doing the work they had to do and they cleaned up really well, although there was some additional cleaning that we had to do. The day after the work, we discovered that the slow drain was still slow and that they failed to connect a line from the shower to the main line. Honestly, we figured that there might be a glitch or two on a job this complex. I called the company on Sunday morning at 8:00 and they had a plumber at my house by 11:00 and he fixed all of the issues to our satisfaction. We feel like it's how a company handles issues like these that's important and Hiller passed with flying colors. Everyone we dealt with was very courteous, friendly and professional. While it's only been a day since the issues were repaired, we feel that they are fixed; if they turn out not to be, we'll update the review.

+ 1 moreThe experience was great. Hiller was the third company to come out and quote us on a new heat pump so I think we really got a great deal including a special financing offer thrown in. The install was great! We have a VERY difficult driveway and almost no room to move the unit past our house. The guys came out at the beginning of an ice storm that had already laid down about an inch and a half of ice. Hiller sent at least 6 guys to move the unit up the hill and around the house. Once the unit was in place the install progressed smoothly and without issue. We ended up with a high quality unit installed for slightly less than the competitors with a HUGE incentive coming from the stellar financing option they gave us.
