+ -1 moreTheir professionalism and care for the proper install was about as good as it get's. Our upstairs was completely inoperable when they arrived, they had the new unit installed (in 100 degree temps) within 24 hours. Their employees started in the morning around 8:00 am & were all very respectful & worked until the job was completed around 8:00 pm when the last person finished.
Description of Work: Completely removed & replaced 4 ton Amana Heating & Air Conditioning The new Heat Pump with Remote Outdoor Air Source was installed along with new air return service over garage & digital thermostat included.

+ -1 moreHeat pump in condo stopped working in July 2006. Called Hiller and a sales/service representative came out (very professional) and examined the current unit, location, etc. and told us he had just what we needed. Made subsequent appointment for installation of unit. Installation and service personnel showed up on time; however, the unit was way too large for the space both inside and outside. It took all day to install. We had to alter the opening of the door covering the inside portion of the unit so it could fit. Also, left unit just "hanging" no support; but it actually provided cold air. Next summer 2007, unit not cooling. Called Hiller... service tech, came out, stated that there was a leak somewhere allowing coolant to escape. Replaced coolant, no charge to us for coolant... unit worked ok rest of summer. Summer 2008, unit not cooling. Called Hiller... service tech came out, stated that there was a leak in the coolant line inside the building??? (because he could not find a leak in the unit), replaced coolant, but we had to pay for coolant ($400+). Only solution offered by Hiller for recurring problem was install coolant line on outside of building (Condo association will not allow alterations to outside of building). Unit worked rest of summer. Summer 2009, unit will not cool. Called Hiller... service tech came out, same problem... replaced coolant ($400+ although same coolant cost $40 for my Nevada home the same year - We actually called Hiller and questioned the cost of the coolant). Summer 2010, unit not cooling...called Hiller to inspect unit. Appt. set for between 2:00 and 4:00 pm. Service dept called at 3:00 said could not be there until between 7:00 and 9:00 pm. We cancelled service call; we are thoroughtly convinced Hiller sold us a bad unit to begin with and overcharged us for the coolant. Will not use them again.

+ -1 moreThey have a one hour guarantee about arrival time. They promised to arrive between 630-800 PM. I received a call at 1240 AM from the "on-call" repairman saying that somehow he had not received the message about me until after midnight. They did arrive the next afternoon and said that the thermostat that they provided and serviced had a wiring problem. They replaced the thermostat, replaced a component in the fan circuit, and added freon. The unit is now functioning normally.

+ -1 moreCalled for service after regular business hours to have someone call me back the next day about problems with my duct work. It was not an emergency so we were ok with a call the next day. They are part of a national service team so even though I called the local number I got through to a central location that took all my info for the local guys to call me back the next day. Next day ... didn't call, didn't call so I called them and this time I got the local folks. They had no record from the call center that I had called so I had to give them all the info again. The person on the other end was professional and I had no problem with her but it was annoying to go through all the info again. They couldn't get someone out to even look at it until the following day. In the meantime I found someone that was totally local and returned calls and could get out there sooner than 2 days. The other company was able to complete the work sooner than All Seasons was able to even come to look at it.
Description of Work: Called for service after regular business hours to have someone call me back the next day about problems with my duct work. It was not an emergency.

We based out selection of a contractor on my wife's instinct and the quality/cost of the new system. We did not use ONE HOUR HEATING & AIR .

+ 0 moreThey are always prompt, showing up on time. They are careful to get nothing on my carpet. They always call after the service to assure the job was performed to my satisfaction. In the fall they came out to take care of a thermostat issue, installing new Honeywell thermostats. This season it has really helped with my utility costs. I would highly recommend them for any heating, cooling, and plumbing needs!

They were able to get a unit in our house within a reasonable budget and had it all installed within 48 hours. I have no complaints against them and they did good follow up as well. They also did not charge us for the diagnosis that they did with the old unit.

water heater repair
+ -1 moreOn a Saturday night, I discovered my gas water heater was leaking lots of water through the top vent. I turned it off and called Hiller at 9:00 on Sunday morning. By 11:15 a.m., a plumber was at my house working on replacing the water heater after giving three estimates with no pressure. He was very respectful, unobtrusive, and careful not to track mud into the house. Because of the venting of the old gas heater into the chimney, I chose to get an electric heater. The guy hooked up the electrical wiring to my breaker box with no extra charge. I was not expecting to pay so much to get a new water heater, but then again, I don't do this often enough to know the going rate. I don't expect it would have been much different with another company, and I wanted the work to be done on that Sunday. I would highly recommend the company!

+ -1 moreI have discovered in the time that I have been using them that the quality of the service depends entirely on the service person. The last time I called to have someone come out they recommended an inappropriate repair. They told me that in order to repair the leaking toilet I needed to have the seal replaced. When he told me the price I said that I would have to get another estimate. I called another company and they made an entirely different recommendation. The other company had a much cheaper estimate for their recommendation. Their prices are about average. They are usually punctual for the appointments.

+ -1 moreThe project did not proceed at all because I called someone else to give a second opinion on what was wrong with the central air unit. Thank goodness I consulted Angie's List for the name of someone who could do the second opinion. It saved us a minimum of $1200 and possibly as much as $4,000. And, by the way, I did call and tell Hiller what had happened.
Description of Work: We are members of the so-called "Happy Hiller Club." In late July we had a less than pleasant experience with Hiller when a toilet in a condo we own started making loud noises when the water was on. A Hiller technician came out, was there no longer than 10 minutes, said a part had collapsed when water to the building was turned off and then turned back on. The bill came to almost $180 (with a $20 coupon and a 10 percent member discount). My husband protested the cost for what he felt was a minor repair, but it was to no avail. About a week to 10 days later, the central air unit in a condo we owned was running all the time and wouldn't cut off. Again, Hiller sent a technician out. The technician put a bit of refrigerant in (though he said it didn't need much) and cleaned the unit. I should add that Hiller had serviced that same unit in May during an annual inspection and didn't find anything wrong. The next day, when the unit still wasn't cutting off, I called Hiller back. This time a different technician said the unit (less than 5 years old) was leaking, had bad welds, needed a new internal filter, and a bunch of other stuff. He said repairs would run $1200 to $1500. I asked if it could be the thermostat and was told that wasn't the problem, although he said the thermostat we had was the wrong kind for a heat pump unit. He scheduled an appointment for someone from Hiller to come out and give us a replacement estimate. Meanwhile, I checked Angie's List and found Kuhn Air Conditioning had good reviews. I called them out for a second opinion. They sent someone the next day, said it was a faulty thermostat (although they said it was the correct themostat for a heat pump system). They replaced the themostat. Cost for inspection and replacing the thermostat was $235. It does pay to get a second opinion! Thank you to Kuhn AC. Thumbs down to Hiller. (We have used Hiller many times for heat, air and plumbing inspections. They always find things wrong and the cost of fixing them is always high. But this experience was a last straw!)

+ -1 moreThey were punctual and professional but overall I thought the price was way over the top for the work completed. One problem with the work is the dryer gas line is loose in the floor. The plumber stated that it couldn't be secured and that I could caulk it to hold it in place. After charging me $45 for a gas line for the dryer that sells at Lowe's for about $20 I thought it best to cut my losses and have someone else fix the remaining shower valve. Their big selling point is the 5yr warranty on all work but I feel this is used to justify high prices on work that will most likely not fail in either case.
Description of Work: We just moved into Nashville to a foreclosed, but new house. We wanted a gas service installed in the laundry room and to have two shower valves repaired that were not working. At their recommendation they installed a pressure reducer on the main service, installed the gas line for the dryer, replaced one of the bad shower valves, serviced the water heater, did an inspection of all other plumbing fixtures in the house. The plumber also did a sell job on their subscription service.

I have to watch them sometimes because their price book gets a little expensive, so I do have to make sure they do not push a higher priced item on me when a cheaper one is available. They are punctual and professional. Their monthly charges are not bad, and it puts me on the top of the list if anything goes wrong. They clean up after themselves and are careful to wear the booties to prevent dirt from being tracked in. I have been happy with their service.
Description of Work: They come out on a monthly contract. They clean the air conditioner, check the heating unit, and do my plumbing work as well.

+ 1 moreThe day of our original appointment, Hiller called to cancel because they were too busy with emergency appointments. We rescheduled for a week later. The plumber came out first. He was extremely personable and spent an hour plus checking all our sinks, toilets, tubs, and hot water heater. He made a couple suggestions for things we might want to improve. The heat/ac tech came over an hour later. He checked our units and determined that a problem that popped up was actually a faulty thermostat and not our unit. Happy with the results, although it took all afternoon to get there.
Description of Work: Hiller came out and did an inspection/annual service for our 2 heating units. They also did a plumbing inspection as part of the package.

+ -1 moreI had a very old furnace and a/c system, so I called Hiller based on their reputation. They gave me a great quote (I had gotten a few) and performed the installation within a week. Very courteous. The only problem I had was that they did not leave me the documentation (manuals) for the systems. I called a few times and when I couldn't get anyone to send it to me, I contacted the owner. I had the documentation the next day. He is very responsive to his customers. I had to have them come back once after installation because it was really loud, but once they adjusted the air pressure, it worked fine. The initial installer didn't know how to fix the loudness, but the other tech did. The system works great.
