Based on the good Angie's List rating, I called Green Acres to get an estimate for relandscaping our front flower beds and installing underground drain lines for our downspouts. It was difficult to get in touch with a live human being, but I finally managed to get the cell phone number for the owner, John Paul Smith. He was very nice, arranged to come by and look at what I wanted done, and then delivered a very professional estimate, complete with a price breakdown and a diagram of where he planned to install the various shrubs and other greenery. After receiving several other bids, I decided to go with someone else for the flower beds, but still wanted to hire Green Acres to do the drain work. I contacted Smith, and he assured me that he wanted the job and would get it done very soon. He even gave me a revised estimate, which I agreed to. After some legitimate rain delays, I still could not get him to commit to when he would have the work completed. Even after I explained that I had plants that could not go in the ground until his part of the work was complete, he was evasive about when he would be able to show up. After a couple of weeks of this, he stopped answering his cell phone altogether, and I had to hire someone else to do the work. Perhaps there was a legitimate reason for his conduct, but I have yet to receive any explanation from him.

At the time we contacted Green Acres Landscaping, we were in a time of extreme drought and heat which were not well suited for planting so it took a little longer than we wanted to get the work started. Once conditions improved John Paul and his crew completed the job in one and a half days. The quality of the work is very good, he and his crew are polite and they cleaned up the job site very well.
Description of Work: Built a two level retaining wall and back filled with top soil. Prepared planting beds along the front porch (approx 60' long), planted Shrubs and Monkey Grass and covered with pine straw. Filled and leveled an area washed out from erosion.
