Gerald's Custom Upholstry

He did a great job and is very meticulous but very slow. I took 8 months to have the pieces complete. I also thought he was very expensive. However, it was worth the wait because the pieces are done so very, very well. He is responsive when you call him and very professional.

My wife and I chose Gerald?s Custom Upholstery on Memorial Pkwy to have some cushions reupholstered because he had a price slightly lower than we were quoted at other places but most importantly because he assured us he could have our job done in 2 weeks. The timing was critical because the cushions were for our second daughter?s nursery who was due in just a few weeks. I dropped off the material and cushions, Gerald seemed very polite and he assured me the cushions will be done in two weeks, he even wrote it on my work order. Two weeks come and go with no word from Gerald, so I call his shop on Saturday and have to leave a message. Monday I receive a call back and Gerald said that the cushions weren?t ready yet, no apology was given, he simply said that they would be done by the end of that week or the beginning of next week. Again I receive no call the next weekend, so the weekend after that, two weeks after he said another week and a half I call him back and he tells me they still haven?t been started. I remind him he promised me they?d be done in 2 weeks and we?re now at week 4, about a week from my wife?s due date. Still without ever apologizing he tells me that he can definitely have them done within two weeks but he can?t tell me when or he says I?m welcome to come and pick them up and have someone else do it. After relaying this to my wife she began crying, I know they?re just cushions but I also know how important having the nursery just perfect is to an expecting mother. We elected to pick the cushions up and try to find someone else to do them, his promise of having them done in two weeks this time really meant nothing since he dropped the ball twice already. I encourage anyone looking to get upholstery work done in the Huntsville area to find someone else who will keep their word and if for some reason is unable to do so, things come up I understand that, at least has the courtesy to apologize and try to make the situation right.

They provided excellent service. The price was good and the quality is super. My wife and I were very pleased with their service.
